Worst cheesesteak that I've ever tasted. The beef is advertised as USDA Choice, but it has absolutely no flavor. Ribeye is the standard beef used to make cheesesteaks. But Charley's is using a lean, far less marbled cut such as top round. Steakumms taste better than their beef and that's saying a lot. I chose not to finish even half of my cheesesteak because of the poor quality. It tasted steamed rather than grilled. Just a horrible flavor profile and I cannot recommend Charley's for anyone who actually knows what a cheesesteak should taste like. So disappointing and a waste of money. read more

Was doing some shopping a few weeks ago, and saw this place in the food court. The menu looked interesting and was a different twist on the traditional cheesesteak. I ordered their Philly cheesesteak, and it was a very generous size. It came with sirloin, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo on a soft roll. Definitely a different variation on the traditional cheese steak but yet very good. They are located inside of the south center mall up on the second floor. They keep traffic moving very quickly and there was adequate seating. Great experience and I'm looking forward to my next visit trying something else. read more

I had a birthday offer to redeem here and I was in the area to redeem other birthday freebies so I was excited as I was thirsty and they offer a free any size drink. I haven't really tried their lemonades but I saw that they had watermelon strawberry lemonade which are my two of my favorite lemonade flavors separately but never had them together. It was really busy at the Southcenter mall but surprisingly no line at Charley's as most people were waiting on their order. I saw that they had a kiosk too which was neat but I didn't know if I could use my coupon so I went to the cashier, Guillermo who was friendly and professional. I asked for no ice and he got my drink made quickly and correctly. Guillermo also wished me happy birthday when he handed my drink which was sweet. Definitely glad to know that the staff here are friendly, the drinks are good and the staff to be on top of it even though a very busy Saturday. These aren't authentic cheesesteaks by any means but they are consistent in flavor and do the job. They have a special for any small chicken sub and fries for I think $8 of which I usually get with the teriyaki chicken sub. The teriyaki sauce isn't overly sweet and I add jalapeños to give it a little kick. It's a little weird to have a cheesesteak with lettuce and tomato but it's a nice touch for me. The fries are standard but they make them fresh which makes all the difference. I've never had the beef so I can't say anything about that. I used to go to Charley's in Arizona for many years so I am glad there's one here. read more

This is one of favorite places to grub at Southcenter in the land of Tukwila. The employees are super friendly/welcoming. The prices are reasonable and the food is totally scrumptious. They have a great selection of food. Savory sandwiches, fries (regular or gourmet). If you want wings, they got you covered. As for the drink, you can down a Coke beverage or some nice ice cold lemonade. Perfect for these hot times in the Pac N.W. Charleys is situated in the food court closest to the AMC movie theater. Terrible service, someone was using the kiosk so I walked up to place my order, I was Interrupted by an older bald gentlemen asking if I was using cash or card, I said card and he directed me to the kiosk. I figured "okay that's just how things are done here" I get in line for the kiosk and a young lady behind me steps up to line and starts placing her order and pays with card. Why make me wait behind someone on the kiosk when you were clearly willing to take orders on the register? Now I am 3rd in line when I arrived second? That makes zero sense so I gave my money to the chipotle across the way and I recommend you figure it out over there if you don't want to lose more business. read more

Last weekend I was at the Southcenter Mall and I had lunch at Charleys Cheesesteaks. I didn't know anything about this company before, but apparently it is a nationwide chain that started in Ohio. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak. It comes with steak, onions, mushrooms, green peppers, and Provolone cheese on a toasted roll. You can also add lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, and pickles, but I skipped those. Well, it definitely wasn't a traditional cheesesteak, but I thought it was a decent sandwich. The meat was cooked well and the bread was soft. I had no problems ordering and I didn't have to wait very long to get my food. The sandwich comes in three sizes: small (6 inches), regular (9 inches), and large (12 inches). I ordered the regular size and it was a good portion. Next time I might try one of their other sandwiches or maybe their gourmet fries. read more

Killed time here waiting for a flight. Grabbed a late lunch before heading to the airport. Watched them prepare the food before our eyes -- very fresh and hot. The employee adding toppings and condiments was careful to follow the order and did not add mayo to mine as requested which I appreciated. Fries were hot and crispy. I'm just love this place, really I do! I usually get the small chicken philly and fries combo do $5.99. Hits the spot every time. Bread is so soft! Fresh veggies, and I love the long sliced pickle. I was wary of the service after reading some of the reviews here. That said, our order taker was extremely friendly! She took our order quickly (I had the large jalapeño cheesesteak & my sister had the regular, regular). I asked about vinegar & oil, and was told there we packets at the end where we pick up. Our food was done fairly quickly, and they did have salt, pepper, and vinegar packets, but - much to my disappointment - no oil. That said, the sandwiches were pretty good, somewhat dry, lacking noticeable flavor, and certainly nothing to write home about. After our meal, I was left not-quite-satisfied, and wishing I had chosen Sushi Burrito, like my daughter had. Overall, if you are looking for good service, and okay with bland food - simply something to fill your stomach, Charley's would be perfect. Saw a show on the food network featuring Philly cheesesteaks last night so on my work break I thought I'd drop by charley's for their Deluxe Cheesesteak since it's so close to work. Lol! They had regular size and bigger size, of course I opted for the regular size (with summer coming up & all hehe) and it was around $5 for their Deluxe Cheesesteak (steak, provolone, mushrooms, grilled onions and green peppers), (there's a regular cheese steak for a few cents less) expect to pay more if you want to make it a meal with fries & drink. SIZE of their regular is about the same size of subway's 6inch sub. It was good but not super amazing. I've eaten their food twice now..It's not something i'd crave or order a lot. I used to LOVE this sandwich place, but since they installed the self-service order screen, they steadfastly ignore anyone at the other register. They adamantly want you to use the screen, and will just stand there with their backs turned to you. Want a fork? Get ignored. Need more ketchup cups? Get ignored. Customer service could be better; most of the time it's like they just want to get on with the next customer and clear the line. Sometimes their attitude intimidates me, but it never gets in the way of me getting a meal. What always gets me coming back is their Philly Cheesesteak. I've only ever tried Philly Cheesesteak at one other restaurant here in Washington, but as far as my taste buds know, Charley's Philly Cheesesteaks really are the bomb. Every time they're loaded, juicy, the bread is warm and soft in all the right spots, there's a perfect amount of mayo, and all the ingredients just complement each other so perfectly. The price is a bit expensive, but it's a little understandable for the quality. I have never tried any other sandwich because whenever I go there, all I want to eat is their Philly Cheesesteak. One day I'll resist the urge and try a different option...or maybe try one in addition to the Philly Cheesesteak lol. And then I'll be sure to write another review. read more

I'm here to shed some light for all of you and to say that Charley's isn't as bad as most people say it is. The only thing that worries me is the fact that their kitchen looks messy (where they cook their food). That's why I give it only 4 stars. When eating here you have to know what to order. And order small because they are pricey!! But small and gourmet fries should be around $9. Their gourmet fries are sooooooo good! Especially the ranch and bacon. I also recommend the strawberry lemonade! It's delicious! Comes with strawberry bits. They're sandwiches are made fresh. They don't make you feel sick after you eat them. Not too greasy either. This was a last minute, last resort sort of moment. I was starving, and the movie I was about to watch (Avatar, just to see what all the hype was about ^_^) was freaking long. Not a bad sandwich for a mall venue. Certainly better than the sad, depressing, over-priced gyro not 50 feet away. I'm a Portland transplant. If you want a better cheese steak and are in PDX, head to Pioneer Square and see Ben at the cheese steak stand, or a few hundred feet away is Rialto's which is a larger restaraunt sandwich. What makes Ben's great is the bed of onions he leaves simmering in a pile in a colder corner of the grill. Charley's Philly Steaks uses the right cheese and a nice soft bread that retains the meat juice. The one thing it lacks is more. You're paying in-mall prices so it's not cheap for what you get, but where else can you get a decent cheese steak in a mall? I've tried a few and they've missed the mark. My first cheese steak in town is certainly better than my first gyro. read more

The cheese steak & the strawberry lemonade were fairly decent, but the experience was "meh". The manager was at the register when I stepped up to order for my first time and as I start to tell him my order, he picked up his cell phone and uses it as if he texted someone....um...are you serious?! I do want to come back and try some other sandwiches, which is the ONLY reason I'm giving it a 4 star rating. I hope the next experience will be a little more customer-oriented. read more
