Nothing was good at this location. The service was terrible, the cashier was too busy trying to check his cell phone. I spent $35, to on crap! And he over charged me. I ordered wings, chicken cheesesteak without mushrooms and a Philly cheesesteak. I should have checked my order before I left. They handed me 2 Philly cheesesteaks with mushrooms. They gave me the wrong food and added mushrooms, I'm allergic to them so I had to pick them out. I understand it's hard to find good help but this is ridiculous!!! 6/7/21 Wow, I remember seeing many reviews on this place and now there are zero. This place could have been a 5 star, but the orders we made came out wrong. My wife wanted the chicken philly cheese stake and I ordered the philly cheese stake without bread. The orders came out in reverse. Seeing how hungry we were, going back to get the orders redone wasn't worth the time or effort. If one wants refill, it costs a dollar. Similar to some of the other 1 star ratings for this place, I also had a negative experience today related to this establishment's sanitation and food handling practices. I RARELY if ever eat at mall food courts, but it was one of those occasions where I was in a hurry and needed some food to fill my belly. I should've followed my usual protocol and starved, rather than subject myself to the experience at this Charley's located in the Springfield Town center. I ordered the chicken philly, just because I wanted something lighter. My sandwich was ready in about 5-7 minutes and I asked for lettuce, tomato, pickles, banana peppers, and mustard. When I took my tray back to my table, the tomatoes looked a bit slimy, but otherwise the sub tasted fine. It wasn't until 1am, that I experienced a horrible case of food poisoning! Everyone who has ever eaten out, has experienced this situation at least once, and it is absolutely no fun. When I called to report the incident to the manager, he didn't seem to be very sympathetic and was more concerned with trying to "prove" that I got sick from his establishment and wasn't making "the whole thing up". No sir, I wouldn't take the time out of my day to try and recoup the $10 I spent at your business and I didn't keep my receipt because I didn't think I would need it. But don't worry, I'm NEVER going to eat at this location again, and will advise others to avoid as well. read more

Mall eating is difficult. The selections are plenty but the quality is often lacking. Springfield Town Center has a few fast food venues. The popular ones are usually the teriyaki grill and chipotle. Across the main line of eateries, the huge Philly cheesesteak sign caught my eye. Ordering was easy. The friendly staff member made my Philly cheesesteak fresh. The order came with French fries. Really disappointed in the service that I got from this place. I understand that It was pretty busy but very unsatisfied with the service. The cashiers greeting was just "hello" The wait time was normal. When It got to my order, It looked very neat and filled with meat (I got a large bacon three cheese). I told them specifically to put lettuce and banana peppers and crispy onions and buffalo sauce. Instead of buffalo sauce they put barbecue sauce which honestly makes me want to barf. I explained to them that they need to redo It and they did. Instead of putting me first before others when It was finished I had to wait about 15 minutes for It to be done which in total was about 25 minutes when It usually takes about 10 minutes max. Finally it got to my order and It was sloppy. Half the meat was there than before, It was it of place and you could see about 1/4 of the bread with nothing on It. On top of that the person who put the toppings on there was about to add tomatoes which I'm allergic to. I didn't want to make a scene so I was like "whatever" took It and just threw it away. Waste of money? Yes. What was sad about this was that the workers that honestly waste their food. You could see the grill from where I was standing and notice that there was a bunch of meat that belong to my order just laying there. When I got my order in my hands before throwing It away the box that It was in was so gross. It had a bunch of sauce marks on and It was just so messy. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with fast food restaurants. This branch definitely needs to ether hire new workers, be more professional, and actually train their employees properly. If I could give negative stars I would. read more

It's mall food what can I say. Average at best. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak and cheese fries. The cheesesteak had pretty good flavor but I could have done without the cheese fries. The cheese was ok but kind of too liquidy for my taste. The customer service was great. The young man handing out the samples today was really helpful. It was my first time trying something from Charley's so he told me some of the popular items (he didn't tell me about the cheese fries, that was my own doing). The cashier was also friendly. Food is good but today I found a piece of metal in my chicken sandwich. At first, it looked like a piece of stapler. Although after examing it, it appears to be a piece from a wire brush used to clean the grill that had broken off. That is very dangerous... I was sharing the sandwich with my toddler. Luckily, I felt it while I was eating, not my toddler. Comment to management: please examine all equipment daily and replace if there is major wear and tear. I was told the cheesesteaks were amazing, let's just say that is NOT at all the word I would choose to describe what I received. This was the absolute WORST Philly cheesesteak I have ever eaten. Very good Philly cheesecakes, dripping with cheese on a fresh hoagie bun. Was able to split the sandwich with my son and still had plenty to eat. I was pretty excited seeing more options in the new Springfield Mall food court recently especially seeing this place as I'm a huge fan of cheese steaks. I wasn't a huge fan of Charley's though. I went there last week and asked a pretty simple question.. how big is the regular? And was answered with a confused look and the cashier just put her hands out and said.. ehh like this size. So I asked, is it a foot long? She answered with a nod. So I ordered a regular combo with a coke and waited as they made my sub. Once they put it on the bread you get to add any extra fixins. I just went with mayo and peppers. I then had to stand there and wait for someone to pay attention that I never got my drink (the person before me never got her drink either, just an observation) Overall it wasn't organized. So I take a seat and I'll say the regular is definitely not a foot long. The sandwhich was underwhelming. The meat was stringy and didn't taste good. The fries were alright. I had planned to eat a burger at BGR at the food court, I saw someone handing out samples at Charley's Philly Steaks so I thought I'd try it. The sample was tasty so that convinced me to try it. There was a special, Chicken philly cheese sandwich with fries, very reasonably priced. I had to ask a few times to get the workers to understand that I was asking them what was in the sandwich. It was hot enough, the fries that came with it were tasty BUT the chicken had NO taste to it. I ended up doing something I don't normally do and that was to add salt.
