Food was good, 1) sometimes the bread gets soggy on the bottom. A) this can be caused by it not only being a soft bread. B) The type of condiment sauce that you order. C) The type of vegetables on sandwich. Remember dressings are liquid, tomatoes and lettuce can have liquid components as well. Some blame the restaurant, but consider what is going on your sandwich and how it reacts over time to something like bread. The service was fine. 1) sometimes it is difficult to understand the workers. A) this can be caused by a heavy accent. B) This can be caused by rushing the words (speaking too fast without pauses or punctuation) C) mumbling in a low tone. D) Sometimes, as in the case of many fast-food restaurants, they get the order wrong or forget something. The ambience is fine, two T'Vs, clean. 1) The chairs are very uncomfortable. The bracing of that style of chair does not account for anyone over a certain size and I'm not speaking about being overweight. The frames that attach to the seats protrude so far that anyone over 150 lbs of over 5 foot tall will having the supports rubbing against your thighs/legs the entire time you sit. read more

Went to the Garland location and boy has that area gone down hill. Not a part of the review but just an observation. I had the Philly Cheese Steak with everything on it says tomatoes. Soggy subs. My husband and I usually get charleys off of 80 but today we decided to try this location. Husband ordered 2 subs and lady didn't ask what he wanted on the sandwich. I got chicken teriyaki and it's soaked in sauce. My sub was so soggy by the time I took a bite, it pretty much turned to mush. Very disappointed in quality and service. We made an order last week for pick up for my husband who had just gotten out of the hospital and was craving a Philly cheese steak. This location opened up around the corner from us recently, so we thought we'd give it a try. Firstly, they're prices are much higher than other locations. Our sandwich which would normally be $5-6, was over $8. Apparently, this is due to the fact that they are a franchise. Secondly, our order was missing our beverage. When we called about it, we spoke to the general manager, who was incredibly rude and expected me to drive all the way back to her store to pick up a drink I had already paid for. After MUCH debate about the fact that this was a huge inconvenience for us, she offered us a complimentary sandwich for our trouble. We accepted and appreciated this. Though, when we ordered and picked up our sandwich today, we had to tell them 3-4 times that it was supposed to be complimentary. The staff behind the counter was also extremely rude. After all of this, the food is incredibly sub-par. The wings were small, hard, and WAY overpriced. The price for 4 boneless wings was $4 and they had clearly been dumped into the fryer from a freezer bag. We will absolutely never return to this location. read more

The worst manager/customer service ever! Went in to eat but needed to go to the bathroom as we had been on the road for awhile. Bathrooms were locked. Asked the manager if they were out of service and he said for customers only. My wife was waiting on me in the front to order. I said I am a customer but needed to go to the bathroom.. He said place your order first. give me a break. Rude and very impersonal. I have eaten there many times but will never eat there again and will tell my family and friend to never eat there again. read more

Armando was absolutely rude has no communication skills and lacks guidance with his workers. I walked in and he was being extremely rude to his workers Thats. Not a safe place for any worker and I do recommend they check that out before workers start to leave. My heart shattered and I left instead. Will not come back unless they learn to respect their workers. When asked if he's always like that they looked back and said yes. I cannot believe it. Very disappointed in the food here. My son & I were glad to see a new sandwich shop in the neighborhood & waited a couple weeks after their opening to try their Philly sandwiches. He is a Philly cheesesteak lover but thought best to wait a bit, for opening pains/issues to settle. You could wait a year & it won't over come the taste of the food (actually lack of). I don't remember ever eating out with my son & both of us didn't eat the food. The chicken on the chicken Philly was chunks of, what seemed like, commercial mass produced "fake" fajita meat, without flavor. Rubbery in texture & tasteless. It was so nasty I didn't get 2 bites down. My son had 3 or 4 bites, looked at me & said "This is disgusting, do you think it's real meat ?" I burst out laughing, as it was my same thought. It was the first time we didn't take a bad meal home for our dog. We threw both sandwiches away, along with the punch card for a free sandwich after so many purchases. Both of us saying we wouldn't be coming back. I'll give you $28 for a couple sandwiches w fries, 1 soft drink & 1 water BUT it has to be edible. There won't be enough advertising or punch cards to overcome the cheap commercial grade mock "formed" chicken being used in their sandwiches. In a word, don't. Want a second word choice ? Gross. Seriously, this place makes Subway, Jimmy John & Jersey Mikes taste like filet mignon & it's way more expensive. I find it hard to believe anyone would make an investment, at that level, for a restaurant serving food that tastes that bad. The only people who might frequent this place think Banquet pot pies are gourmet. But that crowd isn't going to pay Charley's prices. It was a zero star rating, without doubt, but the lady at the register was very pleasant & efficient. The single star belongs to her. I highly recommend you not waste your money here, as we did. I had this once in a mall & was thrilled when this location opened...then was disappointed that 1/2 my Sandwich was mostly salad & only tasted "grilled mushrooms" on the other. Staff and the owner/GM was extremely polite. We came in on for lunch on a Saturday and the restaurant was not too busy, but the staff were super friendly. Really great and fast service with a family friendly atmosphere. They play Christian music and display information about their Charleys Kids Foundation. For a sandwich and wings place the prices are decent and they have enough options to make service go really quickly. I just had a small philly cheese steak with their fries and it was pretty good. I am exited we have a descent philly cheesesteak place. So i have to give it stars for that alone. Only concern is that the place could use better management. I often see this trend, a great potential of a place with very little competition in the market for their product, but more often than less, lack trained service staff or management onsite to take care of the customer. These places don't last unless that gets better real quick. Hopefully Charley's management gives more attention to supervision of its staff and gives them proper training to be successful. I love this place from the fresh made Philly cheese steaks with all the toppings and the slice of pickle they out on it not to mention their ultimate fries adding the jalapenos hmm hmm mouth watering. And to top it off their fresh lemonades are Amaaazing! I love the Peach lemonade the best yum yum. But I've had all the flavors blueberry and strawberry are great too. Never had the wings but this is probably my favorite place in Garland. The staff is very friendly too, accomadating, and they make their orders prompt. read more
