Charleys' Cheesesteak just had its grand opening earlier this week and I took this as an opportunity to stop by and see what the hype was all about. My experience was enjoyable overall. The food itself was solid, earning a 7.5 out of 10. Reflecting back on my receipts, pay $20 for a combo very high!! it was almost like I was charged for two meals. I was charged 7.99 for a combo meal and $10.99= $19.78 The cheesesteak was flavorful but nextime I'm not picking that flavor... It is not the type of Philly cheesesteak I've had in other restaurants.. The Cajun fries were crispy and delicious. The strawberry lemonade has to be one of the best that I've ever had in a while. The atmosphere was lively and upbeat, typical of a new opening. The staff were friendly and eager to help, which added a nice touch to the experience. The restaurant had a clean, welcoming vibe, and it felt like they were doing their best to make a good first impression. A bonus was that they provided a coupon for a future visit, which shows they're keen on building customer relationships. I would've loved if they did something a little bit more to make it feel like a grand opening. The experience was pleasant enough that I'd definitely return to try other menu items like their wings and mango lemonade.

I am sorry I can't give this place good reviews. 2 stars for the clean store though. I came here for the cheesesteaks and I am sorry these are not cheesesteaks. What I got was 2 open faced sandwiches or something. Cheesesteaks are suppose to be on good hearty rolls with melted liquid cheese mixed in with the meats. Instead what I got is just slices of cheese melted simply on top of the meats. Cheesesteaks are suppose to be all rolled up to keep all the juices and steam inside the roll for that bite of all the meats, cheeses, grilled onions. This is more like a sandwich shop to me. I was expecting a good hearty cheesesteak. Not a sub...

Felt like having a cheesesteak sandwich dropped by and had a very good one. The quality of the meat and the bread was very good.

Do yourself a favor and go to Hoody's in Round Rock if you're searching for the real deal cheesesteak. I was not impressed.

Buddha Burger gets a full 5 stars from me! I stopped by their food truck for a pickup order. I got…read morea cheeseburger (patties) with lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, and asked for the Nirvana sauce on the side, along with some barbecue sauce and fries. The burger was incredible- fresh, flavorful, and those smash patties really hit the spot. Everything tasted amazing once I got home. The order was ready in under 10 minutes, the staff was super friendly, and the price was really affordable. I didn't check for seating, but this is the kind of burger you can enjoy anywhere, even in your car. I'll definitely be back!

I think the default is you should never order burgers for delivery and I'm going to start with that. We got 2 buddah burgers regular and small, fries and they gave us some chicken tenders. SCORE! Again this was a delivery order so the review is based on this specific experience. Initial bites in everything , flavor is bursting. Good quality beef , not super fatty (which I love- only want a greasy burger if it's thin), the quality of Ingredients over all were great. I think if I had gotten the burger without cheese and no lettuce I would have enjoyed it more. The melted cheese texture with the soggy lettuce did not last the trip, and I felt like they took away from the burger overall. The sauce was quite good it reminded me of a cross between egg salad and potato salad. The fries I think had like gochujan powder or something were good but if I had it fresh would probably have enjoyed more. Initial bite of tenders were really good but after bite 2 it was like too much bullion in the batter. But in a samich with some coleslaw to cut through the salt I think it would have been great. The only problem I had with the meal overall was the sodium level which had me feeling kinda bloated and sick (could have been from driving and eating a salty spicy chicken earlier). But I will definitely give it another shot and I would go in person for sure it's not a delivery type item and I would probably tweak my burger or samich a bit.

The costilla ones weren't bad either but the pastor was the clear winner between the two. I ordered the carnitas tonkotsu ramen and had no complaints here. Carnitas were tender, ramen was the perfect texture, and broth was delicious. S/O had the chilaquiles-men with green sauce and he loved it. Note: this is a DRY noodle dish AKA no broth. Can't wait to visit again when they reopen their restaurant!

Somehow, against all odds, Ramen Del Barrio still exceeds its reputation. There's only one vegan ramen option but it's all you need, both in terms of portion size and flavor. I've never had anything quite like the mole tsukemen, a Tex-Mex mashup pairing rich mole broth served separately from handmade noodles so thick, you might mistake them for udon at a glance. Simple toppings of fried tortilla strips, avocado, charred jalapeno, and caramelized onions adorn the top. Before this moment, I thought I just wasn't a fan of mole. It turns out, I had never tried great mole before. This stuff dazzles with layered spices, melded so well that I can't pick a single one out from the pack. It's not overwhelmingly hot, but definitely leaves your lips tingling. I'm glad I finally got there before they close up shop at their current location in Hana World Market on December 21st, and even happier to know that their new brick-and-mortar isn't too far behind. I'll be there as soon as the doors open!

I was on the hunt for good soul food in Austin, and The Rolling Rooster absolutely delivered…read more The collard greens were some of the best I've had in a while. They were perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of vinegar and cooked to that ideal tender texture without being mushy. The fried chicken and catfish were outstanding. Both were well seasoned, incredibly crispy, and tasted like they were fried in fresh grease. Every bite was hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The baked macaroni and cheese was good, but it leaned a little more toward a Velveeta-style cheese sauce than my personal preference. Still a solid 9/10. I also ordered the Peach Passion Fruit Hennessy margarita, and it was superb. Smooth, flavorful, and easily one of the highlights of the meal. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the prices were very reasonable, and the portions were generous. If you're looking for authentic soul food in Austin, The Rolling Rooster is absolutely worth the stop. I'll definitely be back.

Would you pick a fried chicken spot for a Father's Day brunch? Probably not...but that's exactly…read morewhat my husband chose for his special day. I don't eat a lot of fried food, but sometimes you just go with the flow. Every year, we go through the same routine. Two weeks out: "Have you picked a restaurant yet?" Not yet. One week out: "Any ideas?" Still no. Then, three days before Father's Day...bam...the decision is made! Luckily, this last-minute pick didn't require reservations. This year's winner? Drum roll...The Rolling Rooster. Honestly, you've got to love the name. The Rolling Rooster is located in a strip center at the corner of Mopac and Wells Branch Parkway. It looks small from the outside, but once you step in, it opens up into a surprisingly spacious dining area. It's not fancy, but it has a warm, homey feel. We were greeted right away by Edna, who handled both hosting and serving. She was friendly and welcoming, embodying that classic Texas Southern hospitality. The atmosphere was cozy, with a smooth R&B playlist spinning in the background. As you'd expect, the restaurant focuses on Southern comfort food...think fried chicken, wings, and waffles. The standout for me was the catfish: crispy, flavorful, and coated with a slightly heavier cornmeal crust than usual, which added a nice texture. We both went with the 2 | 2 combo...two meats and two sides...choosing fried chicken wings and catfish. For sides, we had yams, fries, Mac n cheese and my favorite...grits. The food tasted like something straight out of a family kitchen...comforting, hearty, and satisfying. Portions were generous and reasonably priced, so much so that we didn't have room for dessert on the spot. We did, however, grab some banana pudding to go and I'm glad we did. It was absolutely delicious and the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The hubby and I got to enjoy some quality time while he enjoyed one of his favorite meals...a win-win! Happy Father's Day!
