Great food and service. Sometimes a little too loud in the main dining area. Drinks are good, wines are just the basic selection.

Went here to eat a few days ago and it was really good. I had the Hawaiian ribeye and it was spot on. The salads are always really good. They are known for their potato soup, but the past 4 times we've had it, it was very salty for some reason, so we don't get that any longer. Service has always been good. This Charleston's used to be the place to go in Norman for good quality food. We were there on May 31st 2024 with a party of 12 for dinner, most had an ok experience. However my brother ordered the BBQ Burger medium rare, it was so over cooked it was like a hockey puck. I myself decided to try for the first time the Prime Rib Sandwich, the bun was burned and hard as a rock and the meat was sawdust dry. The Norman Charleston's in the past several years has been steadily going downhill, pure garbage for the amount of money spent, we won't be back. My wife and I have been to many Hal Smith Restaurants over the years and have always been pleased. Red Rock is the bomb and we love The Garage. Hal I think this Norman location needs your special attention before the people managing it runs off your customers. Get a chef in the kitchen for your chef pricing. This food should have never left the kitchen. wake up! read more

We ordered the Salmon Caesar Salad ($18), Smoked Salmon Plate ($25), and the Dynamite Shrimp Salad ($13). Best Plate: The Dynamite Shrimp Salad! This dish was so good. There was plenty of shrimp, it was cooked well, crispy on the outside, and the textures and flavors paired with the cabbage slaw and sauce perfectly. Plus it was only $13! If you are looking for great service and amazing food, Charleston's is your resturant. Every server is helping every customer to get what they need. They have amazing salads and I love their Walt's chicken salad. You can sub salmon for chicken. Stakes and fried chicken tenders are among the best on their menu. read more

Today we had a party of 8. We had to ask for things repeatedly. When the checks came one of the tickets had to be sent back 3 times. One of our party went to the restroom where there was no toilet paper. My friend had to call the restaurant from her cell phone to ask for toilet paper. We had a group of 10. The service and food was perfect. I usually hesitate going in groups beyond 4, but it was a fun time. We had two children as well. This location has really been our "go to" restaurant for family gatherings. It had been awhile since we had been due to COVID but we opted to meet there close to last Christmas. I made arrangement with Paul, the manager who assisted me, and he and the staff went above and beyond with their customer service. More importantly, our safety. It was a huge risk for myself which I have a weak immune system with my health AND my father a heart patient. That being said, our family have never had a bad experience here. Great atmosphere and great food! Every time my wife and i or my entire family attend this restaurant it's a HOMERUN. Every part of the experience was excellent from the front door to the table and right back out. They had such a variety to choose from and everything was great. The chicken was torn up sliced deli meat, not much of anything but greens for $17! The SHRIMP CARGOT in herb garlic butter, havarti cheese was 6 tiny pieces of shrimp with a huge thick slice of havarti cheese torn into 4 pieces not even melted $14. The DYNAMITE SHRIMP SALAD was good but certainly not dynamite, not hot $14. The Key Lime Pie was ok but I've had better for less. Disappointed. In all fairness I had eaten all the little bits of yummy off the salad before I thot to take the picture. Im saving the deli meat and greens for a sandwich later. read more

(3/5/2020) We met an old family friend for dinner during a reunion week. The place was bustling on a Wednesday night with the well-heeled of Norman. Had a few appetizers to split across the table, Queso (hot, salty, cheesy), Dynamite Shrimp, had a very tasty, creamy, mayo-based sauce with a crisp cabbage slaw. I had a perfectly rare, 10 oz. slice of prime rib. It had a well-seasoned, salty jus that complemented the steak. A side salad was very large, could've been it's own entree. Service was professional and efficient. We lingered for a long time, chatting, and catching up, but they did not rush us, even though the dining room was full. I'm down in OKC frequently and over the years I have been to Charleston's. It's a chain with your typical American dishes. I have got the ribs in the past and I did enjoy them but the lovely waitress 'Morgan' sold me on the special tonight with was a 'Hawaiian rib eye' with a baked potato and salad. The salad had sweet bacon dressing that was hard to pass by just by the name. It was yummy for sure Rib eye was a little bit fatty for my taste but it was tender. Cooked medium but a little more on the well side which luckily I prefer but I would get medium rare if you want it super pink It wasn't that cheap but it was worth it. This restaurant has the BEST service. From the girl at the front to the time we left, we felt very welcomed. The food was excellent!! I ordered a flat bread pizza off the appetizer menu and it was huge. My husband ordered the Chicken Fried Steak. He said it was better than the Pioneer Womans. That's saying a lot for anyone. We wanted someplace good to eat while on a 12 hour drive. We opted for Charleston's after reading reviews and looking at their gluten free menu. KUDOS on having spaghetti squash available, what a fantastic option, our waitress was so knowledgeable and I didn't even have to remind her "no croutons" she was on it. It was a nice quite dining experience with GREAT FOOD! We will definitely make this a regular dinner or lunch stop on our drives to Austin. read more

We really enjoyed everything about Charleston's. The food was great, the atmosphere nice and the service was friendly and very fast. No sooner did a plate empty and someone would appear and take it from the table. I had the Parmesan Crusted Chicken, which was very good. Food is always good and I've never had a waiter/waitress that wasn't good or "Johnny-on-the-spot". Prices are high but pretty much inline with anywhere you go nowadays. I'm a fan of Charleston's. I've had only one not so great experience but I think you can expect that with any place. The other times the staff was nice, food was out at a good time, and the place was clean. The food is good. I really like the kid platter of fruit, crackers, and yogurt. It is refreshing to have something different than the common kid cheeseburger or Mac and cheese! I don't consider the menu all that unique but they do what they label "traditional American" well. The price is my only negative. It is a bit pricey. If you want something comforting to eat but looking for a nicer relaxed atmosphere, check it out. read more
