Love the pork chops paired with glazed carrots, essentially my go-to when visiting any Charleston's. Had the prime once and was really looking forward to it but it was too fatty for my liking. Ribs are just okay. The Charleston's atmosphere can get quite dark (either romantic or somber lol); I prefer the booths with the lamps as some of the tables under the overhead lights kind of give guests some ghoulish lighting. All the servers typically wear black so try not to wear all black yourself (as I made this mistake once haha). They're quite accommodating to large parties and are very responsive to guest needs. read more

The restaurant is beautiful, well run, and the server on our visit was friendly and efficient. For all of those, I give it five stars. But unless you are a fan of the Impossible patty (which in my view is rubbery and flavorless,) there is no viable vegetarian entrée. So for that part, I can only give one star. This is not difficult. They could make a homemade veggie burger out of real veggies (juicy beets and onions and bbq sauce!) like they do at Houston's. If that's too much, just leave the chicken out of the cheese enchiladas or use veggie broth for the otherwise vegetable soups. Vegetarians would be able to come enjoy a meal with their meat-eating families. Let's do this! read more

The 'go to' location for our family night out which includes a variety of steak, chicken, salad and seafood lovers. At Charlestons the management of the kitchen and waitstaff, not to mention the bartenders, is impeccable. The dining area, bar and bathrooms are always spotless and the waitresses have mastered moving crowds through on the busiest of nights ~ well worth the wait! If you can't wait, order takeout. Finally decided to try this place after having passed it several times and seeing so many cars parked in front. Fine dining on a budget is how I would describe this place. It's a nice quiet place to enjoy your seated dinner and the ambiance is great as well. Social distancing is practiced and all staff wear their masks. Food Quality: We ordered the French Dip and the Chicken Fried Steak. The French Drip was delicious! They use good quality prime rib assuring each mouthful to be tender and juicy. With the added dip, the enhanced flavor was beyond expected. Something I would order again in the future. The Chicken Fried Steak was unique but the gravy that was generously glazed over the chicken was too sweet for my taste. I was expecting something completely savory when ordering the dish but it was far from that - the carrots on the side were even sauteed with a sweet sauce as well. The chicken steak itself seemed to be dark meat that was ground together. If you ever had Japanese hamburger steak, think of this chicken steak as being something similar to that. Service: Good service! Our waitress came by occasionally to make sure we were doing well. Price / Quantity: When I mentioned that I consider this place to be fine dining on a budget, I meant that they have the ambiance and a selection of fancy dishes that fine diners would serve. However, their dishes are much more affordable. That's not to say that they don't have some more expensive options. That being said, I feel that their prices have a pretty broad range and it's hard to determine if the food you're getting is really worthwhile its price. I initially thought that the French Dip was overpriced but it made sense with the choice of meat they used. Based off that, I would like to think they reasonably price all their menu items with the quality of ingredients they use. Parking: No problems with parking at all. They have their own personal lot and there's plenty to go around. Overall, this place was a decent experience for me. I personally liked the ambiance of the place more than the food itself; but maybe a future revisit with a different dish may change that. They do have a large menu selection that allows you to venture into a wide variety of options. read more

Wife went in to order 2 Kids meals for grandkids to go and took forever for waitresses behind the bar to acknowledge her. Placed order and waited and waited while customers who came in after her had received their meals and were eating. Tried to get her attention but she was still ignoring her. Finally she came over and she asked her what was taking so long with the order as been waiting for over 1/2 hour on two kids meals. Finally saw the order come out but again she was too busy to get my wife taken care of. Wife finally asked a different waitress if she could get her order and cash her out but finally first came and finished the order and cashed her out. Full of excuses and very unprofessional attitude towards wife. Was there for 45+ minutes and I finally called her as kids were starving and asked her what was going on with the food. If I or wife go back and she's there I will sit down at a table and place the order. read more

There is nothing but "the best" to say about Charleston. Upfront, Patricia greeted me with great warmth follwed by another wonderful greeting from Mckinley. I have seen many restaurants in my time but the ambience at Charleston was exceptional. The wood all around is so tastefully done as is the entire restaurant. The food was excellent with excellent service provided by Savannah. Wow, most definitely will be back!! Our wait time was nothing and the service from enter to exit was absolutely astounding. Lexi was our server and she was such a delight and very informative! So sweet and suggested some great entrees. Love seeing management on the floor making sure patrons were comfortable! Worst restaurant experience ever. Absolutely disgusted at our whole experience here. My roommate who is a older man was treated horribly by the hostess here. We were ordering take out and he asked her how much the fish of the day special was. She snapped at him in a very rude manner "they will tell you how much when you order" and shot him a very nasty look. She would not give him the price of the entree and expected him to do all the work. My roommate was confused and perplexed. She didn't offer to go find out or find someone to let him know the price since we walked in and was ordering a to go order. He felt so uncomfortable and not welcomed. We had to order food quick because to take with his medication otherwise we would have left plus we had a 45 min drive back home. Couldn't this young gal been nicer and not so hideous with her attitude? If you are going to treat customers like that, quite frankly you have no business being in the service industry not to mention a hostess. Moving to Oklahoma from the West Coast we have found not everyone will treat you equal and kind but this state has tons of friendly people especially in the service industry. However the treatment my roommate received here was appalling and vile, especially when we spent $60 plus hard earned money. He went back into speak to the manager who was very apologetic and said this is not how Charleston's train their employees. Still we are now left with a bad taste in our mouths. Oh and our Prime Rib which we ordered medium was cooked well done and tough. We asked them to replace it with a not so well done piece of prime rib and they gave us a really fatty piece. Bummer. We stopped here while in the area for Mother's Day dinner. This place is amazing! They were busy, considering the day, but got us in quickly. The atmosphere is light and cheery. From our table we could see the kitchen, everyone was smiling and seemed to enjoy their jobs. Happy employees is a great sign! We tried the Burgundy mushrooms, they are a side, as an appetizer- WOW, the flavor was so delicious. It's like a rich onion soup but with mushrooms. I had the 7 oz fillet cooked medium, it's was extremely tender and cooked perfectly. My husband had the chicken fried steak, he was impressed on how thick it was, but still very tender. We tried the carrot cake and key lime pie- both amazing!! Definitely would recommend and will be back again when we're in the area. read more

The service here is always top tier. The overall experience is great. They always have specials and never forget to let you know. The food is mediocre in my opinion. The chicken quesadilla was great the first time I had it but the flavor and chicken to cheese ratio is not always consistent. It is well seasoned though. The baby back ribs were great and it was lovely that they brought out a wet nap and lemon to clean your hands after. The baked potato was firmer than my liking. The baked beans were tasty, especially if you prefer a chili flavor. The chicken fried steak could be a bit crispier and more seasoned. The sweet carrots were great in my opinion. The grilled pork chops were great!! Very seasoned with a nice taste. Their chips and queso is great, unless you don't like meat! The JJ strawberry sour is an acquired taste that not everyone likes. I gave it a second chance after the first time the smell threw me off. It's important to note that this drink along with the perfect margarita contain fresh egg whites. This turns some people off of the drink but gives it a nice frothy texture on top. The perfect margarita is absolutely perfect!! The ambiance is very nice. Service was great. The food was good. Like many other people have mentioned in reviews, the food seems to be over priced. I understand paying 20-30 dollars for swordfish, but $19 for chicken strips and fries? However, this is a very different time for eating out, the prices are probably on point if you are to compare. My son didn't care for the chicken strips, so it became a $19 dog treat. I had the chicken picata and it was delicious. read more

Was looking for something good for dinner on my travels through. Decided to go with the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and a salad. My waiter was probably one of the best I had in a long time. On his part I give him 5 stars. Salad was very good also. Now the chicken fried steak and potatoes... they came out quick. They were warm but not hot. Was kinda weird. Flavor was 7 on a scale of 1-10. Had better but had alot worse. Bill was steep for what it was. Want to say dinner for myself with tip was $40 for chicken fried steak. If my food a so hot I couldn't touch it for a few minutes and a step up on the flavor I would of gave it 4 stars. I'm personally sick of places asking me how I want my burger cooked only to bring back a well done patty no matter what I ask for.
