They have a tiny section of non-slim sizes, though neck sizes rarely go above 16 1/2. Their knitwear and pants are similarly meant for slender bodies. Hats off to them for opening a store full of skinny clothes in the Midwest. Maybe they should place a sign near the entrance: "No Fats, No Chunks."

She's obsessed with their hoodies and sweatpants and insisted we stop in while shopping downtown even though we have one in the burbs because this one is bigger and better. I'm not sure if it's better, but I will say the sales associate who helped us was so lovely. I'm annoyed i forgot to get her name to give her some Yelp love, but she helped us find a super puff jacket (the warmest coats!) and another super puff vest that wasn't in stock so had it shipped to our house. There was a small line for the fitting room, but seemed short after what we had just waited in at Brandy Melville across the street. And checkout was a breeze. I find their quality really great and their pricing fair (maybe pricey if you're buying it for a 13 year old). I have a feeling I may be stealing one of my daughter's super puff jackets (yes, she has a few!) this winter because they are perfect for our Chicago winters!

I had to return a sweater and I went to browse a few items to use for the remaining balance of my gift card, a very nice woman help me pick out a few options that she thought we might look good with the clothes that I already had in my hand. She had also gotten me a fitting room, but I had to ask the other employees for help with the fitting as she was more on the floor sales -which is totally totally fine. Finally found a dress that I liked and checkout was fine but I live in Chicago, so I definitely should know that there is a bag tax. I just totally forgot and definitely wouldn't have taken the bag if they would have said something.

However, when she radio'd to check for an item for us, she was told that Yes they have it, but it is on a mannequin and would not allow for it to be removed. They could have put a different size on the mannequin with some push pins and allow the salesperson to make the sale, but NO. I found this odd and disappointing.

I get that my age is not the target market for Uniqlo, but I also know that there are a few nuggets of gold throughout the store relative to casual leisure wear, and after a hunt, I found a few shelves and racks full of pants...and after a quick fitting room visit, I scooped up a few colors of each and made our way to the registers. The store is multi-story, as is most on Michigan Avenue. It is also insanely busy, but given the size and layout, it does not feel overwhelming. The store is laid out well, organized, well kept and clean. You constantly see staff members stocking, fixing, re-hanging, etc... In addition to the clothing, there is a custom embroidery section upstairs. We did not partake, but it was busy and I saw several cool pieces leave the area. Service was the only thing a bit off. The staff were quick, but not engaging or necessarily friendly. While there were lots of people on the floor, they never seemed to engage you unless explicitly requested. No big deal, but noticeable. Overall, I enjoy Uniqlo and this location is a good one!

I think what sold me is they really cater to men (although they do have clothing for women); they have a bourbon, scotch mini bar and gave us tastings as well as a shot of the egg nog liquor...very classy!!

The moment you walk in this store you are being watched. I worked a lot of retail back in my day & know when I'm being watched instead of helped. The amount of employees I watched hold their ear pieces & walked over to my husband & I to "offer help" is insane. When we were walking back upstairs the security guy went right up to their wrist to let whoever know we were going back upstairs.
