What a horrible experience! I walked in to open an investment account with Charles Schwab. Anthony Qiu who works in the front was the worse and most rude employee ever. I wanted to start an investment account with 100,000 that I have saved. I was told Charles Schwab is a great brokerage to start with. Upon arrival he didn't even ask if I need assistance. I approached him asked if I could speak with someone in regards to opening an account and how it works. I have never had any investment accounts and nervous but something I need to do. His reply was "what questions do you have" I told him I want to open an investment account and don't know too much but have 100k I saved and ready to start. He smirked and laughed in my face and said again what questions do you have. Already I felt like I need to leave but replied with few questions about how it works what do I need to do and what kind of investments. This is my savings and nervous and want to know what the basics are. He then said " do you want to borrow a computer to open an account?" I told him No I came to the bank to speak with someone in regards of investment accounts and would like some information. His next reply... "What questions I just answered them for you "and laughed in my face again! I felt so disrespected and could not believe this was happening. I'm in shock that Charles Schwab has people like this representing them. I'm trying to give my business to them and this is the representation they have smh. I myself had a great experience today and really am surprised with how bad everybody else experience has been. I came in to drop off some papers but then i had questions. Suzette, is a star. She was able to answer all of my questions right off the top of her head. Very knowledgeable well trained, i got lots of respect for her. My wife (age 84) has had an IRA with TD Ameritrade for 10+ years. During that time our address, phone number & email have remained unchanged. Each year she makes a minimum distribution, Her huband, me, has assisted her with that as she has major cognitive & physical impairments. I am listed on the account as having limited trading authority. Last year TD was absorbed by Schwab. So far this year neither my wife by herself, or us together, are able to do the distributon. We were on phone for over 4 hours about this yesterday & today. My wife failed Verification because she does not know our email address, names of her mutual funds, etc., etc. I am not allowed to help with anything. We were told that we can go to a Schwab Branch that is 1/2 hour away to have them verify her existence. I tried to schedule an appoitment at that branch as my wife is incapable of making phone calls. I was unable to do that. Was always referred back to same "call centers" which had failed us previously. Hopefully my wife can be finally Verified after an unscheduled visit. read more

I stopped by this branch to drop off some forms. I was greeted with a friendly welcome upon entering. The lady at the front was professional and helpful. This branch was well-kept and very clean inside. I also called this branch to ask a few follow-up questions. The call was answered by a live person within 2 rings. She was able to address all my questions quickly and thoroughly. It was nice not having to go through an automated phone menu. read more

I called again to follow up the girl just transferred me over to an agent no help whatsoever. Agent said I could find everything and have my questions answered on their website again no help. My husband and I walked in this Brach trying to get a perspective on what this branch offers as far as stocks and ETF's in order for us to finalize our decision of which bank to open a Brokerage account. The minute we walked in we got a bad feeling of the lady in the front desk her name is Genie or at least that's what she told us, I've noticed others have wrote bad reviews of a lady named Jenny here too. Well upon approaching her she didn't even greet us. As I began to ask her if I can speak to some one regarding the questions I had she quickly replied and said for me to look online with a rude tone of voice. She when on saying they don't provide that type of consultation in this bank! and then after asking different questions she then said they only have three employees there! Long story short it seemed to me like she was being racist towards my husband and i. As she just kept looking at us and telling us that the consultant needs to get paid in order for us to be seen and that it's not free. We ended up leaving the bank and calling another charles shawb bank near by, which where able to provide that free consultation for us and explain what works best for us too! So clearly she was at wrong and honestly I felt she looked at us as if she was superior than us. I ended up contacting her and letting her know how easy we were able to set a consultation at another bank and I also told her I will put a complaint against her treatment towards us.That is defenitly not the costumer service you expect when walking into any business and I hope she takes my advice to heart when she has another Hispanic person walking in thru those door asking questions that she will treat them the way she wants to be treated. read more

I visited this place 4 months back and to retrieve some details employee asked me for SSN. In other banks they let you type and don't ask your SSN. Yesterday employee named Jenny loudly said some numbers(which nowhere else they say loudly) related to my account when there were other people around. I wasn't happy and requested to look at those numbers in closed office. Other employee named Kyle who was sitting next to Jenny initially took me inside his office. He never wanted to accept/talk about his coworker's mistake and later said "oh we do that all the time", Really? Then staff here is unprofessional and need better training. read more

This was my second time to visit this office to make a deposit, the first time last year did not go very well. I felt that the receptionist was cold and seems annoyed for handling clients requests or questions. Today was my second time and she was condescending when she asked me if i earn wages to contribute to my IRA. I was dressed decently and have an account which I tried to deposit on regular basis. Besides the fact that there were bees in the lobby (no kidding - the service rep let us know that there was a hive outside, and that an exterminator had already been called), we received the courtesy that I've come to expect from investment firms that want my money. read more

This review is based on the customer Service we received from Jenny and not the branch itself. I went in with my father in law to help him withdraw/have some money wired for a down payment on a house. I don't bank here so I wasn't aware of how their transactions differ from other banks. I went up to the desk, and Jenny was sitting there typing, didn't even acknowledge me. She finally finished typing and asked what I needed. I began to tell her I needed a cashiers check when she cut me off and replied "We are not a bank. We do not give out cashiers checks." And with that said she went back to typing on her computer. Now I don't have an issue with what she said, but the way she said it was in a very condescending manner, she assumed because I didn't know this she had to say it s l o w l y so I would understand. She didn't even give me options I had to "interrupt" her and ask her again. Once more she looked annoyed. She gave us options and I told her I had to make a phone call to confirm the amount since it was a very important transaction. So we sat in the lobby and waited for a response from our lender. I looked up a couple times and caught her glancing over at us in a very judgmental and I honestly felt uncomfortable, I wanted to get the transaction done fast just so we could get out of there. Once the amount was confirmed I went up to her again, and she gave me a form to fill out for the wire, she instructed me to sit in another room and fill it out. I grabbed a pen out of the 30 that were available and she said, "There are pens in the other room." Ummm...ok what difference does it make if I grab one here or in the other room which had the same exact pens and the same amount..? I feel like she was just being petty and that irritated comment she made could have been left unsaid. So we continue into the room and I began to fill out the form, I was instructed by the lender to add the property address on the form but there was no line on there indicating where it should go. I finished the rest and went back up to the front desk where Jenny sat. I asked her where I needed to write the address and she said I didn't need to write it. I explained to her that I did because it was required and very important that we filled it out correctly since we were on a timeline. Again she looked annoyed and in a very hasty manner grabbed the paper from my hand and drew a circle on some random spot. I wrote the address and we proceeded with the transaction. I asked her name and thanked her for her help and went on my way. Maybe she was having a bad day, I don't know. It was only 9:30am however. My suggestion is be friendly and not condescending, be helpful and make your customers feel comfortable with you! Customer service is a big deal! You have no right to judge or treat people differently based on looks or anything which is exactly how we felt that day. read more
