My 82 year old mother bought a mattress at Charles P. Rogers so that if I ever sleep over at her apartment or if she ever needs an Aide, there would be a bed. She bought the mattress recently. It's still within the return window. I went to see the mattress, which hasn't been used, and it's way too soft. I told my mom to try to return it because it's too soft. My mom called the store, and they told her this is their firmest mattress. I said that the pillow top makes it too soft, and they say it's not a pillow top. Maybe they call it by another name, but it's basically a pillow top for all practical purposes, and sleeping on it would hurt my back. The mattress was almost $1,600 and has not been used and is within the return window, but if my mom returns it, she will lose $200 plus 20 percent, which is a lot. What a waste of money. This is why I always buy mattresses at Costco. They are more comfortable and are always refundable, no questions asked. This is a shame. read more

Worst customer service. Horrible. I requested a return and refund of a mattress well within the contract return period. Management argued and argued and argued that I couldn't return the mattress. I reminded them that contractually it was my right to return. After this battle,which I won,it took 6 weeks for them to pick up the mattress. Then I waited another month for the credit card refund...for the mattress only. Then another battle for the box spring refund. I waited another month for that refund and I only received half of that money.I was too tired to fight anymore.(Tina,my salesperson, was as pleasant as could be before the sale and rude and indifferent when I requested a refund). I was extremely frustrated and didn't realize that when we upgraded to a king sized bed it would be so difficult to find king sized sheets that would tuck in on the sides. I have no idea why king sheets are typically too long in length and not at all long enough in width. Charles P Rogers to the rescue! I found them while searching for any company that would sell wider width king flat sheets. So happy to have found them, they are a bit expensive, they're comfortable, and we're no longer fighting over the loose sheets every night. :) read more

Sleep is probably more important to me than the average Joe. after years of sleeping on a Talalay latex mattress, I knew it was extremely important to replicate the same feel but within a certain price point. The Saint Regis latex fits the bill for me. I no longer struggle to get out of bed or to turn over. The mattress is probably good...if I received it... I ordered my Nano mattress on August 4th, and I asked for Sept 16th delivery. On August 28th I emailed Charles P Rogers asking for a possible change to 9/9. This is what they emailed me Thank you for your purchase at Charles P.Rogers. As you requested your delivery date has been changed to 9/9. We will call you a day or two prior for four hour time frame. If you have questions or concerns please feel free to contact us further. Best Regards, Sherea However, I did not receive a call on 9/7 or 9/8. Needless to say my bed wasn't delivered on 9/9. I called on Friday and Summer tried to help, and was told I"ll get an update on 9/10, but didn't get a call. I had to call Charles P Rogers at least 7 times since 9/10 as well as the shipping company Berger Allied multiple times to see where in the world is my mattress. Between them I was always giving mis-information. Now it's 9/20, and the latest update was maybe my bed will be delivered on 9/26. Charles P Rogers might have a good mattress, but this whole shipping and delivery experience is absolute garbage. Almost 2 months til receiving a mattress that was in stock. Plus, customer service sounds like they care, but ultimately is of a lackadaisical attitude, and doesn't help resolve the issue. Not sure the mix of lower rated views. I guess there can always be miscommunications. We dealt with Tina, who knew her stuff. Luckily for her too, we did as well. We had tried the different Beautyrest brand's various models, and really like a particular model but knew we had to get over to this warehouse showroom. Walked in to see right in front, our Powercore Estate 5000. #1 on Consumer Reports, it was no lie as soon as you lie down on it and having tried the same on other competitors brands. I don't think it took 5 minutes, and we did the paperwork. They said it was out of stock and had to be built for us, so it might be 2 weeks for delivery. We're didn't mind, as good things can come for those who wait. Anyway, it didn't take 2 weeks, just 1! The delivery guys were very professional, getting our new mattress, box spring, and adding the mattress cover up to our 3rd flr bedroom on in 10 minutes! Nice! read more

Ordered placed for a daybed in Jan. It did not come until mid Feb. Delivery not timely. Had me take off a day and no show. Truck allegedly broke down. They had to come the next day. Had to call multiple times on the day I was waiting for the bed. They could not live up to the delivery date. Had to chop a small amount of money off and chase them down to credit my account. A lot of frustration. The bed is lovely, but they do not have it together as a business. read more

Strongly suggest that you stay away from this mattress. It's like sleeping on concrete. Every morning my wife and I wake up with neck shoulder and lower back stiffness and pain. We attempted to correct the problem with their customer service department but were ignored till posting a review. We were invited to come back to the showroom to demo the mattress again and ASKED to remove the post immediately. We did. We visited the showroom and now my wife and I believe the mattress was much more comfortable if not different in the showroom then the mattress received. Customer service built an insert to improve the mattress. But this mattress too is extremely hard and uncomfortable. We are throwing the mattress out since Charles Rogers mattress and customer service has been disappointing. We spent over $3000 and we're throwing the mattress out. Very unfortunate. I purchased both a mattress and frame from Charles P. Rogers. Both were delivered defective. It has taken weeks, involving many phone calls from me to try to get this resolved (it still isn't). When delivery of replacements finally got scheduled for last week, they never showed up and never called to reschedule. This has been a terrible experience from start to finish. I would not recommend this company. They don't stand behind their products, are not responsive and don't return calls, and are disrespectful and dismissive of the hassle all this has been when I've spoken with them. We recently ordered the solide bed, and it came in the mail a few days ago However, after setting up the entire frame, we realized that the platforms were missing. Consequently, we had to move the frame out of the bedroom and our old bed back in. I called the following morning to ask about the platforms, and was informed that they would be arriving in a separate shipment. Of course, this would have been nice to have known before we set up the entire frame. Then, we realized that the platforms didn't fit. They overlapped onto the wooden railing. I called again, and it turns out that we received the wrong-sized platform pieces for our bed. AND they scratched the wood where they overlapped onto it! So now we have to move the solide frame out again and the old bed back in until the new platforms come...which won't be for another week, because they were not sent as a rushed shipment. I also asked in an e-mail if they could please pick up the old platforms (we don't have much room), and they basically ignored my question, saying that they didn't need them back. So moral of the story...make sure everything is mailed to you before you set it up (the solide bed came in three different boxes, two different shipments, we only received ONE tracking number)...and make sure everything fits together before you invest a whole afternoon setting it up. Overall, this has been a very stressful experience. And very disappointing as well, since I read so many positive reviews and did hours of research before buying this bed. Let me tell you why I gave this rating. Six years ago, I brought a bed from Charles P. Rodgers and did not have any problems with them. Due to there their great service and the bed was phenomenal. I decided to buy another bed and mattress(Leighton ES Full Bed Open Foot Black Iron and Silver with Antique Brass, Estate 5000 Plus Full Mattress and Estate Full 5 inch high Foundation) from them. When I brought my bed and mattress at NYC the at 17th Street store, the salesperson was very eager to assist me. She was very nice and looks like she was going the extra mile for me. Now the nightmare starts. When they called us to deliver the bed, they wanted to deliver the bed when we were not available. We were bumping heads with the sales rep. because they told us that they only made deliveries in our area on certain days, which our salesperson never mentioned to us. When I called her she told me she did not know they made deliveries only on certain days in my area. NOTE: When I needed to report what was going on to my sales rep. she was not returning my calls. I finally I got a hold of her and told her the situation. At moment, I felt that she was not same as when selling the bed to me When the bed finally came and it was being assembled, I notice the platform spring box was damaged. The delivery people called it in. They told us that that platform bed was going to be deliver on certain date but that did not happen. We get an email that the platform spring box was coming 3 weeks due t to it was not available and it needed to made, however it came sooner. During this issue I also notice that one of the Estate Full 5.5 bed's legs is very loose. We tried to tighten it but we were not able to. I immediately called Charles P. Rodgers and I was told me that they are going to send someone to assess the the bed. We will see. I will keep you posted. read more

I loved so much about the Charles Rogers business model of manufacturing mattresses in the factory in NJ, showing you exactly how the mattresses are constructed and the fact that they use quality materials. We purchased a bed at the factory showroom several years ago and were happy with this purchase. In Dec 2016, we visited the factory showroom again to shop mattresses. Consumers Reports had recently rated their Nano mattress as #1. We took notes and delayed a purchase for a while. We revisited in December 2017, tried the various models again and purchased a mattress. Even though we were put a bit off by the lack of negotiation on their part and somewhat inflexible policies, I guess my overzealousness for "the Charles Rogers" story clouded our decision to purchase. We discussed the box spring options with Erik, sharing with him the type of Charles Rogers bed we had. Erik said he knew exactly what bed we had. We wound choosing the low profile box spring. Mattress was delivered without any glitches. As we made our bed with sheets that night we were scraping our hands on the wood side rails of our bed because the box spring sat too low below the bed frame for this Charles Rogers bed. I contacted Eric the very next morning to say that the low profile boxspring is the wrong choice for this bed and that we need to swap it out for the higher profile model. He said fine, but there will he a $68 charge to do so. We just spent $3300 for the mattress and box spring 2 days ago, identified the problem less than 24 hrs after receiving the mattress , are repeat customers, and the box spring choice was a bad one for the Charles Rogers bed we had. It could have been avoided if we were guided differently in the showroom. I'm promptly pushed off to customer service by Erik, and I speak to customer service who rightly pushes it back to Erik to handle. They wait to talk to the manager. Never do. Bottomline: a week goes by, no one at Charles Rogers wants to correct the situation so they chose to ignore it. Well, I blinked first and caved into paying $68 more to end this nonsense. They had the nerve to tell me they made a mistake and should be charging us $98 but will honor the $68. Charles Rogers is believing their good press and don't know the meaning of customer satisfaction and how to properly treat a repeat customer who just spent $3300 on a mattress. We overspent and have a negative opinion of this company now. How petty and shortsighted of them to lose a brand advocate for $68. read more

I had a follow up call with Erik and he helped me purchase some sheets (2 sets) as well as being helpful with shipping issues. I cant say enough about these gentlemen. They are amazing! Although I live near Lake Tahoe, I feel like I got personalized special service over the phone. This has made all the difference. I actually got better service from these gentlemen over the phone than I got in person at the mattress store Sleep Train in Reno with a sales rep. CPR will tell you an unrealistic delivery date just to get the sale, give excuses, and then use the cheapest delivery service possible - that also is unreliable, and in our case dropped an item causing significant damage to our hardwood floor. ...and then there is customer service, which is almost non existence and will not return calls or emails. Its all about sell, sell, sell, from their "commission paid sales center". ......then just hope it arrives within 2 months regardless what they tell you, because once they have your Credit Card info you have little or no recourse. read more

This has been a miserable experience and they lack any desire to do the honest and fair thing or even satisfy the commitments they make. We purchased the Charles P. Rogers King size Powercore Estate 9000, one of their top of the line products. CPR profess in their creative marketing that it is a very high quality Pure Talalay Latex mattress with all the wonderful benefits to justify the high cost. The mattress is has only an internal small Latex Topper. It does not bounce back as the Talalay Latex Pillows we have and has distinctive cheap memory foam like residual sag. The cover also has cheap foam sewn in. They are refusing to honor their written, oral, and advertised Return and/or Exchange even though the request was made within the allotted time period (few days). They are also refusing to respond to calls for a fulfillment of my Warranty request accepted by the owner even though the mattress is just a few weeks old. The factory direct delivery men said they could not get King Powercore Estate 9000 up my stairs and refused to complete the initial delivery. They said it was too heavy and do to a poor design, which was not previously disclosed; they said prevents them from flexing the mattress or it would break. All other manufactures can do this as it is not a ridged box spring or base which in a king does come as two pieces. They tried to blame me for the delivery and charges if I canceled. They offered two Twin XL mattresses which I refused. They offered to "build-in-home" the King Powercore Estate 9000 which they stated would be exactly as if factory built except zipped closed and not sewn. I accepted and agreed under duress to pay the $195.00 adder for the zipper to the outer cover. I asked & they described in detail how the assembly would occur in the home. They would bring in the two spring bases which were built as one and cut in half to the size of a Twin XL. They would connect the two bases to be one structure and put on each of the Talalay Latex cut to the King size. This would all be put into the outer cover and zippered shut. Salesman said it would take approx. 1 hour. No location on their website or showroom do they offer an "in-home-build" or do they caution about their inability to deliver their King mattress to normal homes. They delivered Two in stock Twin XL Mattresses without a cover sat them next to each and zippered on one cover over both just as they would have done if we ordered the mattress protector from them. Delivery men said it was built as a King in the factory & cut in half and had cheap foam on the sides for protection to expedite the delivery & that is how they always did it. They said the salesman was wrong. This was not "built in home", one of the two delivery guys was here in the first delivery and they were in & out quickly. The mattress is not performing as advertised or as the showroom model. The mattress is considerably softer and less resilient than in the showroom & if it is Talalay Latex, and not cheaper material, it should be firmer and bounce back. Website says..."Instant comfort response". The cover is loose and the mattress sags considerably like an old mattress. Edges have no support which is dangerous. Salesman in the showroom said they should not have sold me the 9000 series as a back sleeper and the cover is much looser with the zipper than the sewn on version. Their claims are not true: "Pure Latex Comfort" "Pure Latex Padding" "Firm to Medium Support" * This mattress is not Pure Talalay Latex as they promote and advertise. * It only has the Pure Latex Internal Topper. * The other layers shown in the showroom cutaway that the salesman wrongly claimed was Talalay Latex appear to be Polyurethane. * Salesman had also said that the fabric cover was cotton and it is not. Actual Mattress Content Labeling: Latex: 70% Polyurethane: 26% Rayon: 4% Polyurethane is low density, lower life, and the least expensive and lowest quality foam used in a mattress and made up primarily of compounds derived from Petrochemicals. They are refusing to honor the advertised Return, Exchange, & Warranty: The owner is refusing to do a return or exchange in violation of their stated policy. They have admitted that they gave me two Twin XL mattresses and not a King as ordered. They offered to handle as a warranty claim and have their production manager visit my home since she agreed it should not sag, but have not called with a date/time and are not returning my calls. The owner said to rotate the mattress would require four people with this zip-together flimsy design. The owner has no interest in satisfying a customer or doing the right thing. This review is about the customer service, not the product itself. I have been waiting to buy a bed from CPROgers for a long time. As I ordered the bed and mattress, I was told I would get free shipping but I had to pay $175 to have in-house setup. When I called a few weeks later to set up the delivery date, (3 weeks ahead of the actual date), everything went south. First I was told that the free delivery wouldn't guarantee a specific date. Well, that was news to me and I told the salesman so, but I agreed to pay $250 for the delivery on a specific date as I didn't have any choice. Then it took over a week for the salesman to get back to me with a confirmation. Then he deilvers more bad news. He can't find someone to set up the bed. He offers to rebate me the $175 if I can get someone to do it locally. So I agreed to that, although I was not able to find anyone to put it together. (We ended up doing it ourselves,not realizing that just cutting up the boxes for recycling was a 30 minute task. ) The saga continues, 2 days after the last phone call. The salesman called me and told me that they will only deliver to the curb--in house delivery. That's when I got mad. I told him if he couldn't deliver it into the house, I would be happy to cancel the entire order. So he said he would have it delivered into the house, no stairs. The saddest part of the whole experience was when the delivery truck came, there only was one man. To bring in a 100 lb bed, and a king size mattress. This was the worst delivery expereince of my life. Compare this to Macy's white glove service where they clean your floor before putting the bed together. I really love the bed and mattress, but would not order from CP ROgers again due to the service experience. No way. Can't recommend them read more

Be very wary of these crafty guys. Don't be distracted by their overly smug attitude and their totally unnecessary factory tour. Those are designed to take your attention away from their intentionally deceptive business practices. Erik, the salesman, made it very clear that delivery was free. In fact, our receipt has printed: delivery charge: $0.00. When they were unable to deliver the mattress to our bedroom, they charged us $155.14 for their failed effort. When we challenged this, they took over a week to agree to credit us for this made up number. Then they did NOT do it. When my husband called to complain, Erik hung up on him. So My husband and I have been trying to make a full bed work for the past 10 years and the nightly wars over starfishing and blanket tug o war were really not conducive to much needed rest as exhausted parents. I literally spent 10 hours researching bed and mattress options from ALL the bed in box companies (leesa, Casper etc) to Tempurpedic, even Japanese platform beds with all natural (wool) mattresses. I knew we needed a platform bed with actual solid pieces (not slatting, which we have dealt with for years) and needed support for opposite sleeping styles (back and stomach sleepers). I was 100% sure about the solide bc our taste is so minimalist, but also pulled the trigger on a queen mattress. Holy ish. Game changer. She went on to say she had never had a customer ask that and of course everyone knows that their platform is what other companies mean by boxspring (she was annoying). Then i spoke with Erik. I ordered a queen mattress and storage bed over the phone and i feel that the salesman i dealt with was either incompetent or dishonest. I was given a price over the phone, agreed to it and then I was told "oh wait, its going to be 1 or 2 hundred dollars more, i accidentally added an extra discount." okay, sure. i didnt want to wait on the phone, so i said, if its one a hundred or so just email me the invoice... problem is, it turned out to be $600 more, an increase of 25%!!!! no call back to inform me. then the bed gets delivered while i am away on vacation, i come home to see a gross, dirty set of finger prints right in the middle of the white wall i just painted myself before leaving for vacation. the delivery men were the only people in that room, not cool. read more

We purchased their top of the line latex mattress a few months ago. after going back and forth a million times at the store, then calling to change our mind, then again to change it back, we went with the thickest foam model. the sales team was very nice and not at all pushy. our matress is SO comfortable. i cant even tell you how amazing it is. i travel a lot for work, staying at nice hotels with what i previously thought were amazing beds. No. i cant sleep on the westin heavenly bed anymore! our charles p rogers mattress is the most comfortable, amazing sleep surface. seriously. my only complaint, which isnt even detracting from my 5 star review, is that the delivery guys broke a window bringing the mattress. my husband called the company several times for replacement or at least reimbursement (it was like a $200 fix) and rather than immediately make it rightt, the company claimed that the delivery guy told them the window was already broken. it was a hassle, but the company wound up covering the damage. still, the mattress is awesome. read more

My review is for Charles P. Rogers Beds Direct, based in East Rutherford, NJ, and for the Solide mahogany platform frame. The full price for the queen is $999.00. I purchased on sale for $549.00. After delivery of three frames, all with big splits in the rails and the legs, with parts not fully stained, I'm giving up and using parts from each of the three to try to get one nice-looking frame. This company has no quality control at all. Customer Service is helpful, but that doesn't make up for a product that is severely lacking in quality. Someone who is willing to pay over $500.00 for a platform frame wants the product to be right. This one never will be. Just avoid this company and shop locally. You'll be happier. read more

About a year ago, we purchased a Nano2 mattress from Charles P. Rogers which is their top of the line mattress and supposedly their "softest" mattress. This is by far the worst mattress we have ever had. It is as hard as a rock. After about 5 days of receiving the mattress, we were waking up with aches and pains and feeling like a truck had run over us. I called Erik L. who sold us the mattress and had highly recommended it to us and told him we wanted to return the mattress (they have a 90-day policy). He promptly told me that the bed needed to settle because it had shifted in transit while being shipped across the US. I called several times before the 90 days was up and Erik absolutely refused to take the mattress back saying we should try it for a longer period of time. In the interim, my husband had serious health problems and the last thing I could think of was to return the mattress. A few months later when he was better I called Erik and he told me the 90-day period was up and they could not take the mattress back. Make sure you try the mattress before buying it. This mattress is not one bit soft. We think we found a solution to our very hard mattress and are waiting anxiously for its delivery. I would not recommend buying the Nano2 mattress if you would like a comfortable mattress. read more

I tried several models since I alternate sleeping on my side and stomach. I ended up purchasing the Nano mattress. It has now been one year. I still love it! i actually found the bed frame i was looking for on-line at charles p. rogers and then realized they were not far from where i lived so i called them. i was impressed from start to finish. my item that i wanted (a solid 10 inch high bed frame with no slats) was in stock and delivered 2 days after my call. the 2 people that came to deliver and set up were professional, efficient, knowledgeable and kind. it was pouring rain that day and they were careful to make sure to wipe their feet and the wet boxes off before entering the house. the bed is very well made and really a great looking product. from the gentleman i spoke with on the phone to the girl who called to schedule my delivery i was 100 percent satisfied. i will be doing business with them in the future should i need any more beds, frames or bedding. thanks very much! read more

My wife and I started the long process of trying to replace our aged adjustable air mattress. We started at Raymour and Flannigan, and then spent some time at Sleepy's. One of the things that is so difficult is trying to figure out what kind of mattress type we wanted. We finally figured out we wanted a hybrid...springs and foam....and we needed something firm. We liked a couple of mattresses that were from Stearns and Foster, but I wanted to check out CPR before we pulled the trigger. They were only an hour from our house, so we headed over and met Erik. He took his time with us, no pressure at all...we liked ALL of the mattresses there, as they all felt nice and firm and supportive. We finally settled on the least expensive one (St Regis) and we couldn't be happier. We ordered it on Saturday, and it arrived at our house on Wednesday! Delivery was quick, clean and efficient. Extremely poor service! Mattress set never shipped as promised but CPR charged our credit card immediately even though they did not ship. We are now a month out from our order and they still do not know when they will ship. We were told the mattress and box springs were in stock and would ship on the next truck. Not true. Charles P Rogers completely failed us. After reading the consumer reports review, and many others online, my wife and I ordered a nano 2 from Charles P Rogers at over $2,800, and a set of sheets to go with the new mattress. We even agreed to pay the extra $140 shipping fee. After a month had passed we were contacted by a shipper in Billings, MT, over 300 miles from my house. He informed me the mattress was damaged and he was concerned I would not accept it. He sent me photos which I forwarded to CPR. CPR offered me a mattress cover If I would accept the damaged item, which we refused. Next they said they would have a new mattress shipped within the next 3 weeks. Needless to say after a month we never saw a mattress or the sheets. At this point, we have paid interest on a credit card for a product we never received, and a week after canceling our order we are still waiting for a refund. Stay away from charles p rogers and buy locally. PS. I attempted to post this on their site, but it never posted. No wonder all of the reviews on the site are positive. read more

I made 2 major purchases with this company and can tell you with all sincerity that this is the worst company that I have ever dealt with. They make promises that they do not keep. Their excuses are the best that I've ever heard in my life. Customer Service is also the worst that I have ever experienced in my life. Unfortunately I do not have one positive thing to say about this company. With all the money that they spend on national advertising I would think that they could send all their employees to some type of customer service training. Quite honestly the best service I received from this company was the outsourced delivery companies that I dealt with. BUYER BEWARE!!! My background is handling patient satisfaction and customer Service for an inner-city hospital. If we ever handled our patients the way Charles B Rogers handles their customers we would have never stayed in business. The last straw was trying to obtain records of my purchases from their site.
