Shopping at Craig's is an experience. A very New York City experience…read more Having previously purchased a mattress online and having to return it because I hated it, I didn't want to go through that experience again. I stopped by a few mattress shops in the city, but they were very small and many just carried the major online brands that were non-traditional mattresses (memory foam, no coils). A google search brought me to Craig's: a lot of glowing Yelp reviews, Google reviews, and a New Yorker article describing this "speakeasy" mattress shop. Given that Craig's is located right by my office, I made an appointment online. As others have mentioned, be prepared that Craig's is located on the second floor of an office building and that your appointment will be 1:1. Craig will ask you what kind of mattress you like, cut a piece of cloth for you, and place it on various mattresses as you try them. You never feel rushed or pressured. He IS chatty, so be prepared for that too. I tried many mattresses and ultimately found a mattress that I liked and placed an order (the first one that he showed me!). Fast forward to the day before delivery. I had told Craig I was moving in the morning and would need the mattress to come after noon, but when I got my delivery window it was the first one in the morning. He called the delivery company and they wanted to schedule it for the evening, but he correctly pointed out that because I was in a doorman building they might not let the delivery people up in the evening. He gave me two options: he would go meet them at my building in the morning and let them in OR he would come in the evening and help bring it up to my apartment if they wouldn't let the delivery people up. What? This is a crazy level of service. He also must have spent an hour on the phone between talking to me and the delivery company trying to figure this all out. It turned out my building was able to let them in without Craig being present, but his wilingness to go so far and beyond will not be forgotten by me!

Craig spent a lot of time with us and gave us the opportunity to try out different beds. We found a bed we liked and told him that we were going to go comparison shopping before making a decision. He advised us to go to Macy's which has the best selection. He never pressured us to buy. We did go to Macy's plus one other store but ultimately decided that Craig had the best bed for the best price. We appreciated the time he took and the no-pressure approach. We now have our new bed and are totally thrilled with it. I highly recommend Craig as he knows his stuff and gives you the time and space to comfortably come to a decision.

They had one person sell the bed, another take measurements and a third do the installation. The salesperson sent the wrong info to the measurements person; the measurements person didn't measure things properly; and the installer showed up alone; he couldn't get down the basement steps. We should have started with Hide N Go. After the failed installation with that other company, we found Murphy Bed Mike. It was easy to schedule an appointment with him for his NYC location. He met with us, patiently reviewed our needs, understood the issue with had with a tight space to get to the basement, and showed us what we needed. No high pressure tactics, no upsell, simply a friendly consultative review. Mike stayed in touch with us with good communication while we waiting a few weeks for delivery. He was flexible with scheduling installation and he installed it personally (with help). The murphy bed fits out old basement perfectly, while the mattress is comfortable and convenient. Highly recommend.

Soup to nuts, they will have all your organic bedding needs covered. I have been a customer since 2011, and they have always gone above and beyond for me. Most recently, when I logged onto their chat option via their website, I met Roger, who set me up with a time to stop into the showroom and try out some products. Roger was very patient and helpful with my many questions, as well as accommodating to me with a couple minor customer issues I had run into along the way. Initially I had planned to purchase the same brand mattress that I currently had, except in a king size instead of queen. Roger was not pushy at all, but candidly informative when he compared the two latex brands I was considering. Thankfully, he pointed me in the direction of the Obasan brand, which is a step up from the latex brand I was sleeping on before I came into the showroom. I am so grateful to Roger because i am in love with my new Obasan! It is truly the cream of the crop in organic latex bedding, and I plan to be an Obasan customer for life. But enough of my review. Go see Roger at TCB! He will find the perfect mattress for your body and sleep needs, and help you to achieve the best sleep of your life!

Anthony took extra care to ensure my comfort - even going so far as to "reproduce" my current bedding setting and compare with everything comparable in store. He found the most similar pillow as well and made sure to bring it to each bed that I tested out. He never rushed me and made sure to understand my needs. Even after this however, I hadn't found a single mattress that felt comfortable. In hindsight, this was a blessing - I would have made a mistake purchasing online. Hey, mattresses are just something that you need to test in person! Enter Lalita. She matched my energy, attitude, and spoke directly to my pain points. By informing me of their clearance program, Lalita found a way to get my ideal bed into my budget. I was impressed by her overall knowledge - including letting me know which brands had shipment delays and educating me about the difference between the foam density used across brands over the past few years. It's been a long time since I've met a sales associate the "got me" as well as she did. Her knowledge convinced me to purchase a bed on the spot! I felt comfortable and knew that she had my budget and needs in mind throughout the conversation. Lalita helped me navigate a seemingly hopeless process! Whilst Anthony entered my details, she even demonstrated an incredible flexible frame option that elevated the mattress to alleviate back pain, stress in the neck, and make breathing easier at night! Do yourself a favor and visit this location in person to find your optimal mattress. Speak to Lalita & Anthony about your pain points, sleep needs, and ideal setup. Also pretty dirty and not that COVID safe. Salesperson (I won't name him as to not make it personal) was quite un-knowledgeable and untrained...tried to just follow these annoying steps from his ipad that wasn't really working. He also asked me personal questions about my ethnicity, which I found offensive. I was told they could deliver on a Friday, and once I placed the order, was told that was no longer available and would come Saturday. When I had to reschedule due to my building not taking deliveries, it took no less than 8 interactions to successfully reschedule. And I am still waiting for a COI that hasn't come. All around terrible experience soup to nuts, but I was in a jam and had limited time in NY to find a mattress, so they got my money anyway.
