This is going to be long, be prepared. I ordered a bed, mattress from a re known retailer online back in November. Waited till January, got harassed by their customer care multiple times till February and finally lost it. I went in search of a local shop to reorder. Then I stumbled upon bedding shoppe. Me and my pregnant wife went over a weekend to check out a mattress that would fit our taste and budget. We were not sure what we wanted. Mike patiently walked us through different options. Made us feel/layover each, took our feedback before moving us to the next closer option. He also provided his valuable experience with various types of memory foam which helped us choose one based on our taste. Mike was in no hurry to sell us anything. We were very comfortable and super sure of what we wanted when we ordered a memory foam mattress along with a bed(which was not in stock) . Mike informed us that he would be able to deliver the mattress soon but it would take nearly 3weeks for the bed to be delivered. We left the store happy. Though this whole experience was good. The part which I loved was the follow up from Mike through out the process of delivery. Mattress was delivered on time. For the bed which was not in stock, Mike himself called and told that the manufacturer is skipping his promised delivery date and he suggested to order an other bed instead, as it is taking longer and we had a baby on the way. He understood our taste and came up with 7-10 similar options in stock for me to choose. I selected one (which is better than the previous one). He took no extra cost and delivered it within the next 3 business days. Just the day after, my wife went into labour and delivery a beautiful baby girl ! My reasons that you should try a visit here: * Lot of things can go wrong when it comes to furniture purchase and delivery, you would need to be very sure of where you are ordering before deciding just based on a deal or price you see online/store. * Mike is a real amazing person I met in the recent times. I strongly believe he should train everyone in any kind of sales to stop being pricky and do the business the right way. He is super honest and a man of his word. * Mattress and bed are important part of our home as we spend ~8 hours on it and expect a good night's rest. Try bedding shoppe if you stay in this locality. I am sure you would have a very similar experience and would be very happy with your purchase. read more

EVERY time we need a mattress for our family of four, we ONLY go to Bedding Shoppe on Rt 46 in Parsippany... and for several reasons: Mike and Eric do not PUSH or pressure anyone, the selection is extensive, the prices are the best anywhere, there are top brands like everywhere else, but there are also less expensive alternatives that are just as good, delivery is fast and trouble-free (including set-up and taking away the old bedding and all packaging), both sales and delivery staff are attentive and friendly, and if anything unexpected does go wrong, Mike, the owner, is there immediately to address whatever needs to be done. Something DID go wrong with my purchase in July 2021of a Queen mattress and foundation because I hadn't measured to discover that whereas my old Full-size foundation would fit to exit my 2nd floor bedroom, my new Queen foundation could not fit to enter! Fortunately, Mike stepped in immediately and modified my order to provide me with a SPLIT Queen foundation (two halves that equal the same Queen size and strength) at no additional charge. My delivery was handled quickly and my new bed set-up is stronger and more sturdy than before. Thanks, Mike, for great customer service! There are two excellent reasons why the bedding shoppe is my one and only source for bedding...and they are called mike and eric. I discovered TBS 20 years ago and that was that. having not been in need for new bedding until recently I walked in came out with a far more superior mattress than I thought I'd be able to afford. delivery was fast and free and I also scored a couple of awesome sleeper sofas too. I explained to mike that I had company coming for the weekend and that I needed 2 sofas ASAP. He explained that he had one in stock and the other was the floor model. I asked if he would sell me the floor model...he responded with " for you, Jackie, of course" I seriously doubt if I would have gotten this response anywhere else. the bedding shoppe is in direct competition with all the big box stores which is not easy....but they hit all the right notes and they offer a very personalized service to their loyal...and growing... customer base. just as an aside after I had my mattress delivered I looked on line at other deals out of sheer curiosity....sure I could have paid the same money somewhere else...but the mattress would have been far inferior to the cloud I am sleeping on now... so....thanks again mike and eric..always a pleasure ! read more

I don't write reviews but this place deserves a good one! I find that it's very difficult to get good service anywhere anymore but was pleased with the exceptional service I received from Mike and his delivery guys from The Bedding Shop. I am very indecisive and take forever to make a selection when it comes to big purchases. Mike helped me select the perfect mattress and I was out of there within 30 minutes or so. When his delivery guys arrived (on time, during rush hour on a Friday night), we found that my bed frame and headboard had been severely damaged. They made some calls and provided a new/spare frame that they already had on the truck for these purposes, and removed my old frame, headboard, and footboard for me. I'm sure the frame they provided was at a significant discount. In addition, the mattress and box spring I purchased were almost $200 less than the amount of an equal mattress I considered purchasing at Mattress Firm. I originally entered the store based on all of the positive reviews I had seen for The Bedding Shoppe and had high hopes. I was not disappointed and am confident that you won't be either! read more

I should have written this review 8 years ago because that was the first time we ordered from the Bedding Shoppe. We bought a Sterns & Foster mattress in 2010 and 7 years later we found the mattress sagging more and more. I read online and everyone was complaining about how hard it was to get a claim with Sterns & Foster. I thought it wasn't worth the effort so my wife and I went to the Bedding Shoppe to buy a new mattress. After speaking to Mike (the owner) and showing him photos of the old mattress, he gave us a 100% Full Refund which we used toward a new mattress!!! You do not get that kind of service at a Mattress Firm or Raymours. They would have been fine with selling me a 2nd mattress in 7 yrs since I'm sure the warranty paperwork isn't easy to do. I wish more retailers were like this. Buy Local Get Treated Right! Mike runs a great business, and is anything but pushy. He let's you look around but is never too far to answer a question. If you ever went to a big box mattress store you will easily realise how great the Bedding Shoppe is. Oh yeah more importantly the pricing is better too. read more

Eric, one of the owners, advised us on our recent purchase of a mattress and a box spring for our daughter. It was so refreshing to have a salesman who acted more like a consultant than a pushy salesperson. The price was great for a quality product. This positive experience continued with the delivery today by Eric (Jr.?) and Steve. They were on time, courteous, capable and even knew the reason why my other mattress was sagging before even dismantling the bed. Steve predicted that the previous installers (unfortunately not from Bedding Shoppe) never put in a center support in the bedframe. Sure enough, after taking away the old mattress (which was only 3 years old and only used regularly starting a few months ago), his prediction proved true. Also, the old, clearly inferior mattress cost us 25% more than this new superior mattress. Moral of the story: not all mattress stores are the same. Choose Bedding Shoppe in Parsippany. This is the ONLY place we will buy a mattress or box spring! We have checked out the chains and "mattress superstores" over the past 20 years, but always ended up purchasing from Eric and Mike at Bedding Shoppe. They skip over all the phony "super deals" the others pretend to have, and then offer the same national brands, variety and top quality at MUCH lower prices! We have found that Mike and Eric can be trusted to sell you ONLY what you need, and at a very fair price. They also deliver quickly, set up everything patiently and neatly, and take away all the old mattresses, packing materials, etc. (We just purchased two more mattresses and box springs and had them delivered last week) We also like that we are dealing DIRECTLY with the owners and not some fast-talking salesperson on a quick commission. Don't even waste your time being fooled by the flashy TV commercials--in my opinion and many years experience as a customer--just go see Mike or Eric at Bedding Shoppe on Rt 46 in Parsippany, and you'll get the best deal, for real, on your first visit! read more

We bought our mattress, boxspring and frame here about a month ago and I am over the top, extremely happy with this mattress. It is a full size flippable mattress which is very hard to find these days. The Bedding Shoppe, luckily, is a small independent family business and can carry these hard to finds. This Gold Bond brand is old-world superior quality, nice and firm and yet cushiony. It is hard to get out of this bed and go back into the older Calif. king mattress in the master bedroom! A bonus is they also carry the lower height boxspring which I am so glad I got to go with the bed. Mike and Eric are very knowledgeable and very nice, and they are familiar with avoiding problems which made our purchase a complete success. The delivery men were sweeties and so nice to deal with. I even bought the mattress protector while they were there which they had right on the truck. I wish more people in NJ knew about and supported this local small business, they are so worth it. Being my first time shopping for mattresses I was a little worried walking in; I knew there would be many options and of course wanted to find not only a good, but affordable mattress that fit my budget. Upon walking in I wasn't bombarded by the annoying sales people you would think you would be. Instead, I browsed around for a moment and upon walking up to the counter to ask a questions, Mike immediately gave me his full attention. He listened to what I needed and not only answered all of my questions (I tend to ask a lot!) he also showed me numerous different options to fit my needs. After picking out the mattresses for myself and my daughter I explained how I was having all of my other furniture delivered tomorrow and that it is hard for me to get time off of work. We wanted to upgrade to a larger bed but was limited in the amount of available space in the bedroom. We went to The Bedding Shoppe not only to shop for a new bed but to seek a solution to our dilemma. We are pleased to report that not only was Mike, the proprietor, extremely helpful, but we found that he was very knowledgeable. He patiently assisted us in the selection process and was quite helpful with the selection of a headboard. It is also important to note that we found his prices for mattress and box spring sets to be very comparable and competitive to the so-called mattress discount chain stores. The exemplary customer service that we experienced in the store was also evident with the delivery personnel. They too were helpful and very careful when they delivered the merchandise. Our family has been shopping at the Bedding Shoppe for 21 years! They have provided us with every bed we have had since 1997. Beds for the kids when they were toddlers, then teen beds, then young adult beds and in between a couple of beds for a spare bedroom or two and of course beds for us. Can't say enough good things about Mike and his staff. We just got a new bed on Friday and the guys that delivered and put it together were not only hard-working and knowledgeable about their product but so friendly. It was actually a fun experience!! This probably goes without saying but Mike is so knowledgeable he makes it easy to decide on a product, which can be a bit daunting when it comes to selecting a bed. If there EVER was a reason to shop LOCAL, Bedding Shoppe is paramount. They are an example of customer service and expertise that is so far superior, they earn your loyalty time and time again. In 2011, I purchased custom bunk beds and furniture for a beach home...in hurricane Sandy, most of that furniture was washed away. After rebuilding, they helped replace and DELIVER new furniture with a very nice discount. They were able to look up my account and find everything I needed. Then recently, I called them because a bed purchased ELSEWHERE had a broken rail (the other store did zero to help me) and so I called Bedding Shoppe who agreed to fix the rail for me. When we went to pick it up today, they refused to accept payment. I cannot say enough good things about this store, and their helpful employees. The Bedding Shoppe experience was one of the easiest shopping experiences I've ever had. My husband even commented, "You're home already!" He knows how long it usually takes me to make a decision when it comes to buying anything especially if it is a lot of money and should last a long time. As well, sleep is high on my list of priorities. Mike was very patient and knowledgeable and listened to me as to my preferences and requirements. That alone is unusual in a salesperson. Mike is also an owner. I might have explained I was the Princess from the Princess and the Pea story. Goldilocks should have had Mike by her side so she could find just the right chair. When one bed wasn't right Mike knew which one I should try next. I think I tried four beds and felt confident in my decision when I was done. When I came to The Bedding Shoppe, Mike Hatler greeted me with a smile and asked me how I found out about his store. I explained that I saw a commercial on TV. That's what encouraged me to stop in to possibly buy a new queen mattress. Mike was very patient in helping me with my selection. The mattress I decided to purchase was not quite to my liking and I was advised to come back to his store to choose a different mattress. I recently purchased the Queen-size Coaster Storage bed frame (Kauffman Collection), Bunkie Board (sits on top of the bed frame slats), a Sealy Hybrid mattress (memory foam on the top, springs underneath), 2 Coaster side tables, and a Slumber Cool mattress cover. I also paid $50 to have the bed frame set up in my home and money well spent (takes a lot of effort, and had a very capable and friendly 2 man team)! On top of that I have 1000 TPI (thread per inch) sheets (Bed, Bath, Beyond) and it's like sleeping in a 5-Star resort every night! Mike was great (he really knows the business and trends), no pressure, gave me all the time I needed to make my choice over a couple of visits to the store. I bought the mattress cover from Eric, and he was also very helpful. I have no reservations in recommending the Bedding Shoppe in Parsippany. Money well spent! read more

I moved into the area a few weeks ago for work. I didn't have anything at the time of moving so I was in the market for a new mattress. I had shopped prior to moving at a chain but was not impressed by how pushy they were to try and close a sale. I did some researching for places in the Parsippany area and I saw this local store that had good reviews. I stopped in after work one day and met with Mike who showed me around and helped me find a mattress I loved. Paid, set up a delivery day and was in communication throughout the week in regards to it as he had to place an order for the mattress. Price was very competitive and delivery was free. Mattress was delivered and frame was assembled by the 2 movers. Overall, the process was a pleasure and very easy. Mike was professional and it was nice to shop local. We had the best possible experience with the Bedding Shoppe. Eric waited on us and from the moment we walked in there was zero pressure. He is knowledgeable about all facets of the mattress/box spring world! My husband and i had different ideas about what we wanted and Eric took the time to suggest what may fit our ideas and needs for comfortable sleep. He was spot on. We took our time and never felt rushed. Delivery was set up and they called with a 2 hour window as we were told. The delivery men did an exceptional job removing our old king size mattress. The absolute best buying experience I've ever had. My husband and I had no idea what type of mattress we wanted. Mike explained the pros and cons of each type as we tried them out. After choosing the type of bed we wanted, Mike showed us the "good", "better", and "best" varieties, answered our questions, and then told us he'd be at the desk if we had additional questions. We moved from bed to bed and eventually chose the "better" bed. When we told Mike, he wrote up the order WITHOUT any pressure to choose a more costly option.
