My second purchase of a futon mattress & I should have purchased the recent mattress, which I eyed on several websites a long time ago. First mattress fro Futonland was satisfactory but it was all memory foam, as these mattress was new. It did last 10 years but had it for 12 years. Otis mattress, HALEY 110 is what I dreamed about for years. The depth (8-10 inches), is for real whereas I sit or lie down while I am way above as if I had a box spring underneath the futon frame. I don't need to struggle anymore off the futon. I can't even describe what it is like to sleep on it...!!! You can't any better than the best mattress for a bed itself. The firmness and depth is so powerful, while trying to fold the mattress onto frame, I thought the mattress was another model because I couldn't get it to fold. But I folded the side which was already folded in the box which made it easier, tried the other side again and both sides folded onto futon frame. I hope my description is understood. Kept mattress on floor for 48 hours, flipped on 24 hour time period, to let the mattress expand. On the folded side in the box, I had to place weighted laundry baskets and other items on two other sides for the mattress to completely touch the floor evenly. Mission accomplished. I purchased the mattress through email communication, instead of the in-store although I live in NY. The service online was excellent service, professional and last time I bought mattress in store, I noticed phone conversation & online service was a way for their business. So near or far - you can business with them and Futonland seems to be the only real store still in business for futon mattresses or frames, etc. read more

Do not trust these guys. I'm from Las Vegas and attempted to get a real nice futon with plush mattress and got nothing but the run around. So, after the courting phase and they took my $1800.00 they became absent. Like ghost in the void. For weeks no information. No phone call, no shipping label or tracking numbers available. Everytime I called it would be.. "we'll call you back, " and they never would. So, I filed a complaint and dispute with my bank. 3 card Monty style. If you put your trust in them. All I can say to you my friend is Good Luck. Because once someone shows you who they are, believe them. So, a little close to an hour now. Since I called Futonland and asked if they would expedite this matter on their end instead of my bank having to go through all of this. Mind you at first when I called and I mentioned my name, they hang the phone up on me. They did call back and said " process this, process that... Corporate this and corporate that" My salesman mentioned something was wrong with the arms, which is the reason why there had been no communication for weeks. Delivery was on-time. Assembly was much longer (more than 6 hours) than suggested by sales person. Even worse, screws were missing and assembly instructions (in box vs video) were not consistent. A few of the non skid pads came off almost immediately. Having difficulty with the fit of the queen mattress on the frame when in the upright position. I tried calling twice. Purchased the Rockwell Black Walnut Queen Wall Hugger Futon Frame (KD) by Strata Furniture. Both this company's negligence & the manufacturer's stonewalling has been unbelievable !! FutonLand's CEO Eddie has no willingness to work towards a common ground, even knowing the extremity of my defective futon frame! As far as my customer experience goes with this company, Eddie and his employee Patrick have provided the worst customer service. With me disproving their lazy way to remedy the situation- by providing a replacement part & telling me to sell it or something thereafter. also, when questioning where the warranty with their manufacturer says this & that, they get in their feelings & state that they will ignore me. On multiple accounts I have been lied to. Last week, I had a conversation with Patrick where I asked for a common ground with a refund for the product, being the issues i've been having with this defective piece. He told that he would get back to me after speaking to his GM and he would provide me with an update. Days go by, no update once so ever. I had to email in order to get an update about their stance with this issue. It's been nothing but evading what I say. Patrick also told me a couple weeks ago that I would not be covered by their warranty, since it expired. He also claims he never said that as well, after I sent a demand letter a day after my warranty expired. SCAMMERS - STAY AWAY FROM FUTONLAND I can't believe a company would go out of their way and LIE to their customers. I ordered furniture from these clowns on December and waited 5 months for it to arrive only to find out it was improperly packaged and was damaged! I agreed for a replacement, 5 more months later they arrived with a few scratches and when I reached out to customer support, Kelvin replied back basically calling me a LIAR! Stating that I caused the damages after the installation. Little did he know I actually took a picture of the signed delivery report with the comments! OOPS! I bought $1230 bed from Futonland in March and unfortunately my experience has been terrible so far. The bed is defective (headboard does not attach to the frame), it was misassembled by their white-glove delivery and Futonland delivery left ~$700 floor damage (as quoted by my building specialist) in my brand new apartment floor while shoving instead of carrying the bed frame. They scheduled a floor specialist in April to fix my apartment's floor and I asked them to schedule this service after they pick-up the defective bed to prevent any further damage after the floor-fix. They picked up the defective bed, yet now they refuse to fix the damage they left in the floor, despite the earlier commitment they had in April to do so. I received rest of my furniture from Raymour & Flanigan as well as Wayfair and my experience with these two companies has been very smooth. read more

The UWS location is quite small and only has a few floor models to look at, but they also have bigger locations in Brooklyn and Newark. They charge $129 for white glove delivery which includes delivery and assembly. They also provide certificates of insurance if your building needs it. Here is the policy: 'When you place an order, you will receive an email notification with the order details. It is your responsibility to verify the information and let us know about any discrepancies. You can notify us about any changes within 48 hours or before the order is confirmed. If you need to cancel your order, please fill out the cancellation request form. Any cancellations made after the order is confirmed or the 48-hour window has passed will follow our return policy.' I received an email asking to confirm shipping details and then I requested a cancellation within 48 hours and they moved the goal post on cancellation window due to the ambiguous 'or' used above. If I hadn't confirmed shipping details yet, I should be able to cancel. Cherry on top - they asked me to pay full shipping fee on the bed for an ancillary mirror I ordered. Dont waste your time or money with this company. I bought a futon cover that after 1 wash, had white blotches and the color badly faded. Only owned it for 1 month. WHen i purchased the futon, i also purchased a protection plan from Allstate through Futonland. Allstate told me to go through FL since the manufactures warrant would apply. I put a claim in with Futonland and they told me to pound sand and that i washed it wrong. My wife washed it and followed the instructions. The futon was $65 and they could see it was a recent purchase. She did not wash it with bleach and wash and washed it by itself since it is so large. For them to try to blame us is a disgrace. I was a little nervous buying from the Amsterdam Ave Futonland because I read a lot of pretty bad reviews. I had a great experience! I walked into the store, asked a million questions, sat on all the mattresses, and was happily assisted in building out all the options my own futon. Everyone I dealt with was friendly, helpful, and professional. I bought the futon right there in the store and it was delivered to my house in the same week with "White Glove delivery." They skillfully carried it in and put it together in about 30 minutes (took all the garbage with them too!). They even helped me put on a mattress protector that I had purchased separately. Futon looks great and is comfortable. My only complaint is that it's a little tricky to open with only one person, but I knew that going in. Overall, great experience! read more

My husband and I shopped online first getting an idea of styles etc. but, we need to see, touch, and feel before we will buy. The upper Westside location is small but Nas was very helpful and we picked out a nice solid oak frame. It was delivered when promised and set up for us by the delivery men. About two weeks into sleeping on it, my husband was continually having the sensation that he was rolling downhill and it was affecting his sleep. We looked at the frame and indeed the body supporting the mattress had a great deal of give on his side of the bed. We are alerted Customer Service to the situation and, At the request, emailed them pictures and videos of the problem. The turnaround and response time was a little long, I'm not gonna lie, but when they got back to us they said they were sending workmen to see if the problem could be fixed. We continued to pull our mattress onto the floor and sleep flat until the following week when the workmen arrived with their tools. We showed them the problem in the frame and they said to work. After about half an hour they asked us to come take a look and we demonstrated that the problem was still there and they agreed. Within half an hour after they left Nas rang us up and said that he was sending us a new body to go under the mattress. It is now three business days later and the workmen have just left after installing the new piece and it is 100% better now. Everyone we dealt with was courteous and professional and willing to help us. The turnaround and response times could have been better, but the problem has been solved to our satisfaction. Minor defects in materials cannot be predicted so this situation was no one's fault, but we are glad it is now taken care of. read more

Really positive experience with FutonLand. So first off, they had the couch I wanted which no one else had. I've searched, I googled, I called shady places in shady parts... no one had it except futonland. Salesperson was courteous and legitimate. Couch arrived two weeks ahead of schedule. Delivery guys, arrived exactly on time when they said they would. They treated my home, as if it were their home. Okay, let me be honest, they treated my home better than I treat my Home. KC and Frank literally spent the time navigating the tight corners without touching the fresh paint. They cared and for that I am thankful.
