They had one person sell the bed, another take measurements and a third do the installation. The salesperson sent the wrong info to the measurements person; the measurements person didn't measure things properly; and the installer showed up alone; he couldn't get down the basement steps. We should have started with Hide N Go. After the failed installation with that other company, we found Murphy Bed Mike. It was easy to schedule an appointment with him for his NYC location. He met with us, patiently reviewed our needs, understood the issue with had with a tight space to get to the basement, and showed us what we needed. No high pressure tactics, no upsell, simply a friendly consultative review. Mike stayed in touch with us with good communication while we waiting a few weeks for delivery. He was flexible with scheduling installation and he installed it personally (with help). The murphy bed fits out old basement perfectly, while the mattress is comfortable and convenient. So, we were looking outside TempurPedic, and we asked what was Sleepare's policy? - We were also up front that my husband has a terrible back and there was a real possibility nothing in their store would work for us, so if their return/exchange policy was not generous, we would not buy there. - Fazi at the store told us that we could return for ANY REASON within 150 days, and we could exchange as many times as we wanted, and return after that if nothing worked. - We got this in writing before purchasing, but we did not catch the ambiguous "or" language around return OR exchange. We were verbally promised that we could exchange and THEN return, repeatedly. - We exchanged just the top part of our Helix mattress for a firmer part. - First, the company tried to say that we were not entitled to a refund at all, but we had in writing that we were promised a FULL refund. - Then, the company acknowledged that we had that in writing, so they decided just switching the top piece of the mattress was an exchange, and therefore we had scuttled our chance to return for a refund. - Finally they agreed to let us exchange for any mattress in the store, as if they were doing us a favor, when they were actually not keeping THEIR word about their own policy. - We were able to exchange for a cheaper mattress, but we did not recover all our money doing so. - Once we started asking about the refund, they went from friendly and communicative to MIA and it took from August through NOVEMBER to get it "resolved." - By the way I was pregnant while we were purchasing this mattress and feeling extremely unwell, so it was a huge burden to deal with all the logistics fighting them. I was told they could deliver on a Friday, and once I placed the order, was told that was no longer available and would come Saturday. When I had to reschedule due to my building not taking deliveries, it took no less than 8 interactions to successfully reschedule. And I am still waiting for a COI that hasn't come. All around terrible experience soup to nuts, but I was in a jam and had limited time in NY to find a mattress, so they got my money anyway.
