Everything here was on point. I got the lamb lula kabob, chicken kabob, and a beef skewer. It's nice to see everything cooked over charcoal, which is suuuper rare to find, especially in the Bay. The chef cooked it all to perfection. The beef was a perfect medium with some pink, the chicken was still moist, and the beef felt like a good cut, so tender. The lula kabob and everything else was seasoned really well. My one gripe is the price and portion. $40 felt pricy and I really wasn't full at all after. I also wish they had more to go alongside the kabobs, like pickles or some sauces. Even a couple small sides would round it out and make the price feel better. Ho-ly, I haven't been here since sometime in 2025, but things have gotten bizarro dire. I don't know if they had to cut costs or lost their head chef or what, but every component from the hummus to veggies to protein to the sauces are all visually similar, but incredibly inferior versions of themselves. Tonight I got the beef shwarma plate and suddenly the shwarma is flavorless and bone dry, the hummus has the texture of an old bowl of oatmeal and or like a bad tuna salad, the "cucumber salad" seemed to be missing both citrus *and* oil, and worst of all? The sauces! What happened?! They used to have a dilly yogurt and like a meatloaf-style spicy ketchup. Now? It's like a wet marinara and a lumpy, gray-white thousand-island. This place went from hidden gem to extremely disappointing. Do not go here, it's a ghost of its former self. Something has gone horribly awry. They don't even have their refrigerator of quality sides any longer--my wife is gonna miss their borscht most of all. read more

We get takeout from here a lot. Open till 1 am and they cook everything on charcoal! It's SO good and they give you a good amount of meat. We always add an extra half portion of stuff. Everyone has been very kind and friendly, small business family owned shop with lots of different folks helping out. There's an area to eat outside and a couple tables inside, but to-go is always good. They have a drink fridge stocked full of stuff. They used to have this beet salad that was SO good. We just went today and it was crossed off the menu, please please please bring it back if you see this!! Tried to make it myself tonight and it did not turn out quite right. Very disappointing experience. We placed an order totaling about $55, but when my husband arrived to pick it up, he was given the wrong order and charged $115 instead. Rather than acknowledging the mistake and correcting it, the restaurant let him leave with food we didn't order at more than double the cost. We ordered 2 lbs of kebab and 2 lbs of chicken. Somehow they took that to mean we want enough wraps that would use 4 lbs of meat and made us 8 wraps instead?! who would ever order a wrap in pounds of meat?! We should have refused the order since it was completely incorrect and ended up costing double the price only to take it home and unwrap the sandwiches to and find out the chicken was UNDERCOOKED and it was thigh meat when we ordered breast meat. So beyond disappointed. Horrible customer service when they were in the wrong with no offer to make it right. We will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

SO YUMMY! Best hummus I have ever tried. The family is so sweet and ready to help with any questions. Me and my husband absolutely loved the food. Small cozy restaurant with fresh home cooked food. You can taste the love in the flavors. The rice was fresh, the chicken flavorful and hot off the grill. The side of grilled seasoned veggies was amazing. Great portion sizes. Staff was nice, I think I saw the owner(light brown/ maybe blonde hair) and he seemed somewhat rude. Food portions are small if compared to Masis. Rice was okay, seemed stale. Not fresh. Hummus wasn't good. Missing veggies that was supposed to go with the plate. I understand food is supposed to take time. They told me 15-20 mins. I set a timer , took at least 35mins from the time I ordered to when I received the food. Shawarma meat was good, lamb was also tasty. Basically I would recommend the meat and order ahead of time. I don't recommend the rice nor hummus. Lastly I have ocd and a worker picked up trash from the floor with gloves on but almost handled the food. read more

Tried this place on a whim and will be back. The beef lula kebab was delicious. We found the chicken lula to be a little dry. I asked for garlic sauce which they gave me but it's actually not garlic sauce..it's a tzatziki sauce which was still good. read more

I stopped by for a quick bite for lunch. I was greeted with a nice smile by the owner. He recommended the beef lula wrap. He explained how he prepars it, starting with beef wagu, seasoned onions, parsley, tomatoes, and a little butter, then wrapped in a lavash. It was delicious!! The place has 2 inside tables, well air conditioned, but outside seating is also available. Prices are very fair, good service, delicious food, and clean. I was looking for a new place to try today and ended up stumbling on this restaurant. The style of the place is cute and they have covered sitting areas inside and outside. Inside I was greeted by a very friendly older gentleman and a woman. They explained the menu to us and were very patient with my picky self I ended up getting one pork shawarma and one chicken shawarma to go 50/50 with my friend so we can get a taste of each. I also ended up getting this salad (which i don't know the name of) which was delicious. The shawarma was really fresh and had a really good sauce. They can make it regular or spicy so let them know if you're a spicy lover and they will accommodate. Overall I had such a good experience here and honestly I will put them in my list of places to visit in Glendale. Can't wait to try their bbq next time read more

What on earth happened? I used to love getting Shawarma Plates from this place. Now it seems like different people are in charge, and things are not good. The condiments that used to be on the food are suddenly gone. I got a 'wrap' just now that was meat, some slivers of onion, parsley, and nothing else. No tomato. No sauce. Just dry meat on bread. I've tried a fair share of Middle Eastern spots in both Glendale and LA--growing up with a lot of Middle Eastern friends--but this one stood out so much, I had to write a review immediately after eating. Like, I had this 5 minutes ago and it was insanely good. It tasted like something you'd get straight from Armenia. I got the chicken lavash, and my friend ordered the beef luleh. The chicken wrap had a perfect spicy kick and was loaded with a sauce that reminded me of a spicy chipotle--super flavorful, not overwhelming. Can't wait to come back and try more. Yikes. We ordered $230 worth of kabobs and shish kabob and we were completely disappointed. The shish kabob tasted like bbq liver and was not appetizing. The outer layer of the meat was mushy and our guests did not eat this meat. I would suggest whatever they're doing with the charcoal to not do it. Quality of the Greek food was amazing, I'd say the flavor was well seasoned. Got the gyro salad and only 4 stars due to the portion size not quite meeting the price. For a service charge and high recommended tip numbers, you had to pick up the food and the utensils which were on disposable plate and plastic utensils, and dining area just being a local hole in the wall spot. 5 star would be just to increase service and portion sizes. read more

Glendale has some of the best food for the price in LA, and when a places' name begins with Charcoal, you know they ain't messing around. I've driven by many times wondering how their food tastes and today I tried it. As a Greek American it's very hard to get good Greek food, especially Greek food that tastes like Greece not some watered down American version of it. Even though this isn't a Greek spot, when I got the pork grilled Plate I was pleasantly surprised to taste similar flavors I would only have in Greece. Even the Greeks in the States have a hard time making that flavor. Even though it didn't taste exactly like it, it still was excellent. I look forward to trying their other dishes.
