I tried the #52 Chaps Special.. it was it was delicious. I am stuffed to the gills. Came on a recommendation and it did not disappoint!

The Chaps Special was a great sandwich. Co-worker told me about this place. The sandwich did not disappoint.

I found myself in Glen Burnie, getting an oil change and figured I'll make the trip to Chaps Pit Beef. I'm conflicted on how to review this. The beef was pure flavor, town smoky tender, and spiced just right. But the portion size felt like someone whispered portion control and really took it heart. I'm used to overflowing sandwiches that are big enough for two servings. This felt more like a slider. And the beans which are normally my favorite side at a pit beef place were really tangy. Also, they were served in a container that might've been borrowed from my niece's doll house-tiny. I appreciated the fresh brewed iced tea, which was available and two flavor, sweet and unsweetened. The free pickle slices were a fun touch like a bonus snack. All in all not bad, but I'm still looking for my ultimate pit beef stop.

For my Pit Beef I have always been a strict Bull on the Beach girl. My nephew and his pregnant girlfriend suggested I try this on my last trip home. OMG! The pit beef sandwich was AMAZING! Soooo good and flavorful! (And much cheaper than the other place). If you get to craving a good pit beef sandwich, I encourage you to try this place out. Service was good, spacious seating area, a variety of foods at a great price! I have searched all over Tucson for the perfect pit beef sandwich and nothing has come close! I would love to put in a request to please please please open one of these in Tucson, AZ!!!

Receipt of Chap's Pit Beef (Best in Baltimore) visit

I made a special trip to Chap's because I don't live in the area and was in the Baltimore area on business. We visited on 3/8/25 @ 3:23pm. Our order number was 213656. I asked for fries with gravy. The cashier said they didn't serve that. I had gotten this side for many years. Someone who came in later, when we were our way out, had a side of fries with gravy. I am so disappointed. This cashier was inattentive and offered no greeting when we walked in. She never looked up and never asked if we were going to dine-in. Unacceptable! The worst customer service that I have ever received at Chap's. Please do something about the staff that man's the register. You can do better.

Very friendly staff. Food came out pretty quick as well. Would have like to have seen a little more meat on the put beef sandwich but it was pretty good.

Garbage Fresh Cut Cheese Fries (Small)

I thought I ordered Cheese fries, not cheese soup. This place is awful. And not just because of the lousy service from the employees that hate their job. But the fact that they can't do their job. And the fact that this food, somehow isn't up to par with the main location in the city. The place itself kinda sucks to eat in. The table for condiments was an absolute mess. The pit beef sandwich I got wasn't really prepared correctly. Very sloppy, and the toppings were not cut properly and sloppily thrown onto the sandwich. And then there was the cheese fries. I like cheese as much as the next obese American, but this was entirely too much and I don't know why any adult would think that having so much covering the fries was a good idea. Maybe they were trolling, maybe one of the cooks didn't like me. This was so bad, it almost seemed personal. With all of this said, if you want to go to Chaps, go to the one in the city. This one is NOT it.

If you haven't been to the original location this location will do, but if you've been to the Pulaski Highway location (where Bourdain visited) you've had the best. This will NOT measure up. It's a perfectly satisfying sandwich. Plenty of meat, cooked nicely. You've got a million choices when it comes to sauces. There are pickles and horseradish. It's all fine. But I spent my entire lunch listening to my boyfriend lament about the lack of smoke flavor - because this location is in a strip MALL, not in the parking lot of a strip CLUB, which means there's no smoker. I am glad that the weather was nice, so we could use the picnic table out front because the music was so loud I couldn't converse with my boyfriend, and my life is incomplete if I can't have sarcastic conversations with him at all times. It wasn't even bad music. It was Prince, and the Eurythmics, and stuff that I normally love - but it was being played at Forever 21 decibels. I realize that I am now officially old, because the music was too loud. Sorry/NotSorry... I mean, I can't imagine that Chaps Pit Beef is high on the places to eat list of the younger crowd. Turn the music down, just a tiny bit? I'm glad that we tried this location. It taught me not to bother with any of the other locales. I'll stick with going down the street to the Gold Club Original location.

The Raven Sandwich and Homemade Baked Beans (Small)
    Melvin B.

We decided to try this spot since we had heard about their Baltimore location. Now there is nothings fancy about this place. It does pit beef and other meats. Your expectations should not be high. I had The Raven and baked beans. The Raven was good except they just put a slice of cold cheese on it when they could have melted or heated a little bit. The beams were sub par. Based on that they get 3stars.

Nasty fries and even worst, the nasty black grease they were fried in!!

Should have read the reviews first, but live and learn. I normally patronize their other locations so this is my first time here. Beef was good, but unfortunately when I picked my order up at the window and I went to sit down and I pulled out the fries, there was nasty black grease and dripping all over the place. Got all over my clothes and you can see from the picture how it completely covered the bag as well as the container they were in. Nasty nasty nasty. Please invest in a grease filter and filter your oil every day. This oil looks like it's six months old without being filtered or changed. The grease was so nasty it looked like it came out of a car with 100,000 miles on it!! Completely ridiculous!

    Raw shredded pit beef

Originally inspired to eat at Chaps Baltimore after drooling over Instagram photos, we drove 40mins for a sandwich & the experience was well worth it...so we were over the moon to discover they were opening a location 15 minutes away from us! Navigating to this location was a lot easier, not just because of the time of the drive, but because the parking lot was a lot less crowded & it was much easier to walk-in for to-go orders. Though, I will say-customer service was a lot better at the Baltimore location-friendlier staff, who were more willing to assist with the sides & sauces. This visit we placed an online order for pick up including 6 entrees: 1 gravy beef platter, 1 chicken meal, 4 sandwiches- & 3 sides including: fries, chili, and green beans. Upon arrival, there was a definite mix-up with the bagging of our order- we ended up with only 3 of our ordered entrees & 5 sides of fries. (We were missing 3 sandwiches, the chili, & the green beans.) It took awhile to get the front staff to help obtain our missing order- they kept asking me to wait-passing me from staff to staff- while they filled new orders- which was disappointing as our current food was getting colder. In the meantime of waiting, I tried to work with the pick-up window staff to obtain the toppings sides (normally out for self-service-now behind the counter for COVID- I asked for pickles, onions, and sauces for 6 entrees)- the first staff member told me 'oh no, that's too many'- but I showed him my receipt explaining we bought 6 entrees & everyone wants their own bbq & toppings. This process was even more frustrating than trying to get our whole order- again I was passed around to various staff members being told, that's a lot of sauce...which was a bit shocking since when they finally packaged everything, it was all in pre-made to-go containers, so it wasn't like they had to make all the sauce containers, they just had to be willing to bag it for me and they weren't. When we finally obtained all of our food, made it home- the containers were a hot mess- true the fries were all extra food that wasn't originally in our order, so yay-but they were leaking out of poorly constructed containers everywhere, creating a greasy mess. The guy who was frustrated packing our sauces just threw them in-so they leaked, and the green beans side was the SMALLEST scoop of beans in a bbq sauce to-go container, as if they just didn't try to locate an actual sides container :( So -not the best take-out experience when trying to place a larger order...but I can't knock the quality of the food The fries- while a greasy pile of mess- were well-seasoned, crispy cut, I couldn't stop eating them-very unfortunate for my tummy that we ended up with so many haha The Big John-BIG indeed-packed with so much meat- I had to cut the sandwich apart to add sauce within the layers & figure out how to take a bite. I even ended up taking off some meat for leftovers & still had a massively hearty sandwich with the same great juicy, well smoked quality- We haven't eaten the chili yet-leftover adventure tomorrow! Overall, probably best to skip online order & go in to specifically ensure the order is correct- but still worth the hassle!

My fiancé and I have supported this local spot for years. It used to be a reliable go-to. But over time, something shifted--and now I know exactly what it is: the cook, Laura. On 11/28, I ordered steak and eggs. What I was served was not just unappetizing--it was dangerous. The steak smelled rancid, oozed a grayish liquid, and had visible discoloration. We flagged it immediately. Today, we returned to follow up and were horrified to learn that Laura had been explicitly told not to use those steaks because they were spoiled--and she served them anyway. Let that sink in. Why wasn't the meat discarded? Why did she knowingly serve it? Is she untrained, negligent, or something worse? And more importantly--why is she still employed? This isn't an isolated incident. Months ago, I stopped in for a quick lunch and became violently ill within the hour. I had to pull over to vomit and missed an important business meeting. I suspected something was off then, and from that point on, I would call ahead to make sure Laura wasn't cooking. Recently, I gave her the benefit of the doubt. That was a mistake. There's a level of disregard here that feels personal. When I asked to speak with her after learning about the spoiled meat, the staff refused and smirked like it was a joke. It's not. This could have led to hospitalization--or worse. This is a public health issue. Laura's actions were reckless, and the restaurant's failure to act is inexcusable. I'm mortified, furious, and deeply disappointed. Willy's was once a place I proudly supported. Now, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Until there's accountability, I won't be back--and I urge others to think twice before risking their health here.

In fairness, the place was busy but that also is typical on a Sunday around noon. We had a party of 5 and had to wait approximately 20-30 minutes to be seated. We received our coffee and waters however there were no spoons in our napkin of silverware so we had to use knives to stir in the creamer and sugar for the coffee. The waitress also brought a drinking cup full of half-n-half to the table for us to use in our coffee. This made quite a mess since pouring from a drinking cup resulted in drips and spillage onto the table. It was busy so we could not get the attention of anyone to ask for spoons after we realized they were not in the napkins. Jokes of course ensued about whether we were to use our fingers to stir our hot coffee. Later, when our entree's arrived, they had put 2 separate orders onto one plate and even though we requested fruit on the side for our french toast, the fruit was on top of the toast. These were all little, irritating things which combined made the dining experience memorable but for the wrong reasons.

You can tell people really like this place. Lots of options on the menu. I went with the classic Eggs Benedict, which here comes with an interesting twist -- they add cheddar cheese. That was new to me. My daughter ordered the Belgian waffle with sausage. They didn't ask patty or link, so we rolled the dice -- it came as links, and she wasted no time eating them. The waffle filled her up quickly. Fresh blueberries on top, crispy on the outside, airy on the inside, and sweet in all the right ways. When my Eggs Benedict arrived, it looked a little small at first and the potatoes barely filled the plate. But don't let that fool you. What a flavor. What a presentation. The hollandaise was perfect -- thick enough that it barely dripped off the muffins. Once the creamy yolk broke and mixed into that sauce, it was game over. The cheddar addition actually works, giving the whole dish another layer of richness. This is top-tier classic Benedict. Coffee was solid, the atmosphere cozy, and the pricing surprised me in a good way. My daughter's meal was $5.99, with only a $0.75 upcharge for juice, which is hard to beat these days. Good service, good food, and a comfortable place to sit down and eat. We'll definitely be back!!!
