The quality of food and speed in the service while still getting a smile at the cashier lane is appreciated . This can teeter on a 4/5 scale, but it's just a solid bbq choice. I rarely crace a burger, but when I do this is my go to choice. The sides are good as well, can't say I think the value always matches the size, but it's close enough. Sorry no pics this round, but it's mostly a grab and go experience for me. Bonus points for being able to buy a regular ish size bbq sauce to go, once you've tried and tested the variety and fou d one you like that much. I live for BBQs and I have to say, I save places like Mission for when my greatest crave for such hit a premium high... I am so glad I finally tried them and thankfully this location worked best to meet with locals in the area. I wanted ribs. Fall off the bone, meaty, and saucy ones. For sides, we shared cheesy potatoes, baked beans, coleslaw, and mac n' cheese. I think for a good 5 minutes I couldn't speak ha lol. Let's just say 5 bones was perfect plenty because oh my goodness... the cheesy potatoes were hot and oozing with cheese, baked beans had that tang and perfect texture, and the coleslaw was a nice balance of crisp and cool. Kaylee and Peyton were wonderful in their service during our visit! Upon our departure, a gentleman whose name I did not get, took our trays for us. Every single interaction of the team here, the hospitality, made our visit even more memorable. I especially love the story of Mission BBQ and their mission statement. Plenty of space with big booths and tables but I can imagine the place to get busy during peak times. Parking is ample and space is ADA accesible. This place is awesome! Great food and great employees! Especially management, the employees are always happy and respectful which flows down from how they are treated. We usually have big orders because the whole shop here eats together so understandably something was wrong, I came back they not only gave us the new correct items, they let me keep the wrong items, gave me a free pint of mac & cheese and reimbursed the money on the two wrong platters! One of my favorite places to go for lunch, I'm there at least once a week. lol. I like everything there: the moist brisket, ribs, half chicken, pulled pork, sausage are all delicious! They have great side dishes too: Mac and cheese, fresh fries, green beans, collard greens, and seasonal desserts like strawberries short cake, carrot cake are also great! I always get their ice tea with my meal. The service is above and beyond top notch! The food is great and comes out fast. I always feel welcome there with their amazing staff, a shout out to Thomas and Coleman, who always greet me by name. I also love that if I make it there by noon, we sing the national anthem together. I appreciate the honor with the pictures of our nation's hero that decorate the restaurant. We used this Mission BBQ to cater a big event we had (120 people). They were really great to work with on the phone ordering the food. The lady who delivered it was also great as well. She called ahead of time. Then she told me she would come early because she knew how long it would take her to set up that much food and she wanted to have everything set up on time. I've always enjoyed coming to Mission BBQ, which is why this experience was so disappointing. Unfortunately, my interaction with one of your employees left a very bad impression. Every time I tried to place my order, she kept interrupting me instead of letting me finish. On top of that, I noticed she was on her phone while working and speaking disrespectfully to other employees. Is Mission better than brisket in Texas? Or vinegar bbq that you'd get in Carolina? Maybe not, but I am impressed with the quality of the bbq in a chain restaurant this large. The sides (the beans and mac are my favorites) are nothing to sneeze at either. I am such a fan of Mission BBQ! The concept of fast yet fresh food BBQ is amazing. All restaurants are big on customer service and they greet you as soon as you walk in the door. This location is no exception and you can tell because it's packed every time I decide to dine here. Since Mission is a chain, I've already written a review about the pricing, quality of food, and experience at the Columbia, MD location, and overall, I think Mission is great. This time however, I visited the Glen Burnie location and was quite pleased with my treatment. I was cashing in on a birthday sandwich (another thing I love about Mission - they gift me with food and treats several times a year), and I order the moist brisket sandwich, no bread (WHO EATS BRISKET ON BREAD???). I got my drink, then my order was up, and I carried my tray to a table. As I settled in to eat, I noticed the brisket looked really dry, not moist at all. I debated if I should just eat it or not, decided NOT, and went back to the counter with my tray of not moist brisket. I explained my issue to the young man there, who whisked the tray away and had the food prep staff cut new slices of brisket for me. It was perfect! Then he gave me the not moist brisket in a to-go container since it would have just gone to waste. I was very pleased with the care and customer service I received and the new slices of brisket were delicious and as fatty as I could want them. I find it irritating I have to plan my trips to Mission around NOT having to stand up during a meal when an anthem comes on, but otherwise, this place is great. read more

Great service and excellent food! The staff were able to help me pick out what I wanted. Another staff walked around the dining area and was checking on guests, how their service and food, and if they needed a refill on their drink or drink f they wanted anything else. I ordered the brisket as moist instead of lean. It was incredible! Very flavorful and juicy! I also ordered the mac and cheese. So good! Unfortunately very first bad experience. It was a surprised to see the inside, it's a very well designed and decorated place. My rating goes for the lady at the register, while placing the order it was a little mistake on her part, I explain the ribs needed to be in a different plate and instead of pulled pork (what she put in the order), it had to be pulled chicken since my bf is allergic to pork and did have no need to rush to the hospital due food allergies. Boy oh boy, I've never had such a bad reaction from a cashier/waitress/server. Rolling eyes and uncomfortable as she could be, gave me the cup for the order and said I was done. I wanted her to confirm if it will be okay and she just waved her hand in order to lead me to move out of the counter. Once we got the food I must say I enjoyed the plate (meat sampler with pulled chicken, brisket and ribs) we ordered the XXL combo that comes with 2 sides and a drink, really delicious mac and cheese and corn casserole. I can't believe I've never reviewed this place! Whenever I'm in need of red meat or a sandwich this is definitely where I come. Today, I just happened to take advantage of my free birthday sandwich. Service is always nice and I've never had a problem with an order. Make sure if you order a sandwich to get it wet or it will be dry. Wet means you get a piece that has a good marbling of fat. They have a lot of different sauces to choose from and I typically stick to a sweet spicy or going to write sauce. Misson BBQ tugs at my heart strings as a 3 star and a 4 star establishment. I've had some misses and some hits from the ribs, to the beans, turkey, pulled pork - been through their menu a couple times now as it's an easy spot. Whether it's a sandwich, a rice bowl, BBQ - w/e sauce is delicious. Somehow the vast array of sauce Mission BBQ slings... I just don't like. There are a couple standouts that I enjoy, but if they have 10 sauces I dislike 8 of them. And that's weird, BBQ sauce is delicious I love all the regions - yet somehow their sauces just don't taste right. Customer service is top notch, these folks are trained to care, and they all want to make sure you are a happy camper. Always respect and enjoy a place that employs customer satisfaction as a primary focus. The meats have been hit or miss. Sometimes dry, sometimes perfection. Same kind of deal goes for all of the sides I've tried to. Don't get me wrong, Mission isn't bad - if it was bad I'd not give it 3 stars, 3 is A-OK. Is it worth going out of your way? As a Texan, visiting Baltimore for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised to find a BBQ joint serving "Texas-style" smoked meats. I had three-meat sampler with some baked beans and I was not disappointed. The three meats I chose were the moist brisket, smoked turkey, and classic sausage. The sausage was great! A cut above what I find in most Texas places. The turkey was on par with the best I've had anywhere and, the brisket was good - just seasoned differently than I'm used to. However, I definitely have it again. Throw in the history of Mission BBQ, honoring American heroes and this great country and, considering everyone on the staff seems proud to work there and have such great attitudes, and I'll be back. So the Mission BBQ conversation has came up several times in the last week, and out of pure coincidence today ended up being the day. We were actually on our way to the bank to hit another spot that only took cash, but once we pulled into the shopping center with the Wells Fargo we quickly changed our plans after seeing the Missions BBQ in the same location. Upon entering the restaurant you quickly start to recognize where/why they chose the name "Mission", and by the time you get your food, and have a chance to soak it all in you start to appreciate what this place is all about. The dining area had a good amount of people in it when we arrived, and the smell of smoke meats dominated the building. This being our first visit to this restaurant we surfed the menu for a moment, and the cashier was also kind enough to make suggestions, and inform us of options that were available, not not posted. I ended up ordering a brisket combo, with Mac N Cheese, and Green Beans. My lady ordered the 2 meat sampler with Brisket and Pulled Pork with Cheesy Potatoes and Green Beans on the side. After ordering our food was ready before we could reach the soda machine to get drinks. The food pros: The food is prepared very well. The brisket was delicious, and you can tell that they really take pride in their side dishes as well. I actually changed my order to Green Beans after an enthusiastic referral by the cashier, and they were the closest I've ever had to homemade ever. The Mac N Cheese was also very good. The cheesy potatoes were also a pleasant surprise. There were 6 different sauces at the table for you to sample. Bay B Que: A sweet sauce with a blend of Old Bay. I'm a huge fan of Old Bay so I was loving this sauce. KC Classic: A good mix of sweet and smoky sauce. This was also very good. Tupelo honey heat: On any other day this probably would have been my favorite sauce, but I wasn't in the mood for a spice kick, the sauce was very good though. Texas twang: Probably my least favorite of the six, but my lady liked it a lot so I guess it depends on how you like your sauce. Smoky mountain: I would have enjoyed more if I was eating Chicken, or Ribs. Memphis belle: By the time I had this one I was already bias...lol Nc vinegar mixer up: This was my Ladies favorite sauce. She loves the vinegar base. Im impartial. The interior: The walls were full of memorabilia. A tribute to all of the people who make this country what it is (well the good parts of it). The soldiers creed is posted high on the wall, and was one of the 1st things to catch my eye while I was eating. It was actually a good conversation piece. They were very thorough and seemed to have something for every branch of service, and any job that is essential to making the country what it is (again, the things that are commendable). The Food Cons: Though the food was good, the portions are pretty light. This isn't to me a bring your family out for dinner type of BBQ spot. More like a place that you would stop at for say a work lunch. This isn't a dive in and get your hands dirty BBQ spot, but it is good for a quick BBQ fix. Overall: I'm not mad a Mission BBQ. The service we received while we were there was top notch, but I was there for lunch. Had I went here for dinner I think I may have not been as impressed. To me this is a very good authentic BBQ "Lunch Spot". Another random turn off that I noticed when I was leaving, was that this location is next to a pet hospital. The straws and other dining needs were displayed in a Craftsman tool chest. YES. The variety of BBQ sauces on each table were pretty damn good. YES. The dining area as well as the restrooms were impeccably clean. However... The BBQ meats were not anything to rave about and small in portion considering the prices charged. The side dishes I tried (mac and cheese, green beans, coleslaw and baked beans) were acceptable but not the best I've had. The dining area attendant assigned to our area came by no less than four times to ask if my dining companion was done 'yet' when it was quite obvious that he was not. Later during our time there, she noted that they were opening another location in Pennsylvania the next day and moving into North Carolina and Richmond later this year. I wish them luck. read more
