Mission BBQ at Glen Burnie, MD.
    Kris P.

I live for BBQs and I have to say, I save places like Mission for when my greatest crave for such hit a premium high... I am so glad I finally tried them and thankfully this location worked best to meet with locals in the area. I wanted ribs. Fall off the bone, meaty, and saucy ones. For sides, we shared cheesy potatoes, baked beans, coleslaw, and mac n' cheese. I think for a good 5 minutes I couldn't speak ha lol. Let's just say 5 bones was perfect plenty because oh my goodness... the cheesy potatoes were hot and oozing with cheese, baked beans had that tang and perfect texture, and the coleslaw was a nice balance of crisp and cool. Kaylee and Peyton were wonderful in their service during our visit! Upon our departure, a gentleman whose name I did not get, took our trays for us. Every single interaction of the team here, the hospitality, made our visit even more memorable. I especially love the story of Mission BBQ and their mission statement. Plenty of space with big booths and tables but I can imagine the place to get busy during peak times. Parking is ample and space is ADA accesible. Absolutely delicious and such warm hospitality, thank you Mission BBQ at Glen Burnie! Looking forward to our next visit.

I love how my food is always so flavorful and seasoned. The meats are hefty, juicy and fall off the bone good. Then to add the perfect side item...... the green beans...... OMG! Go get you some Mission BBQ!

One of my favorite places to go for lunch, I'm there at least once a week. lol. I like everything there: the moist brisket, ribs, half chicken, pulled pork, sausage are all delicious! They have great side dishes too: Mac and cheese, fresh fries, green beans, collard greens, and seasonal desserts like strawberries short cake, carrot cake are also great! I always get their ice tea with my meal. The service is above and beyond top notch! The food is great and comes out fast. I always feel welcome there with their amazing staff, a shout out to Thomas and Coleman, who always greet me by name. I also love that if I make it there by noon, we sing the national anthem together. I appreciate the honor with the pictures of our nation's hero that decorate the restaurant. That's all the many reasons why I keep going back.

We used this Mission BBQ to cater a big event we had (120 people). They were really great to work with on the phone ordering the food. The lady who delivered it was also great as well. She called ahead of time. Then she told me she would come early because she knew how long it would take her to set up that much food and she wanted to have everything set up on time. She also brought extra paper products (more than we ordered). She was so friendly and helpful. All the food tasted great. Will definitely cater from them again. We ordered: -brisket -pulled pork -Mac and cheese -green beans -cornbread -cookies and brownies -banana pudding

Moist Brisket (choose Moist or Lean), green beans and bacon, corn bread (wrapped in foil). Different sauces. Assorted classic bottle colas.

The brisket was super good! I love the variety of bbq sauces. I got the slaw and the green beans with bacon on the side and they were both good. 1 star less for the corn bread coz i thought it was very dry. Service was fast and friendly. I love how the place is clean, homey, and very appropriately decorated. Lots of interesting stuff on the walls to look at while waiting for the food to arrive. I was so excited to see the army truck on display outside. It matches the whole vibe. There is an outdoor seating area too!

    * Great service. Friendly and polite. * Really authentic BBQ. * Nice variety of sides. * Comfortable seating * They honor our military and veterans. We've come here as a couple. Each of us has dined here alone. And we've come in small groups. Everyone we know loves this particular Mission.

I absolutely love the Brisket Sandwich. I get it each time. My grandson also loves the Green beans which are seasoned very well. They have good desserts too which taste homemade. I always get a side of Freedom salt & I put it on everything! Very good food.

Mission has the best BBQ around! I recommend the brisket "moist" with the Alabama white sauce. Food is great and service is over the top. 5

We got the pit beef medium with barbecue sauce and horseradish. The meat was kind of bland in the middle so definitely grab some extra BBQ sauce. The 1/2 rack was moist and easily came off the bone. The mac and cheese kind of reminded me of KFC mac and cheese. The potato salad was slightly sweet. The employees were friendly. The food was good and the price seemed fair.

You place your order at the takeout window and they have several tables with umbrellas up front. The order taker asked me what I wanted on it. Told him it was my first pit beef so I want the works. He suggested onions and mayo. Ok... Then he gave me the expectation that my beef would come medium-rare. Perfect! I also ordered a side of fried shrooms. When I got my sandwich, it looked pretty hefty - a good amount of beef for $10! But it looked more well done - far from medium rare. Took a couple of bites and was underwhelmed. It was bland and under seasoned. I had to go up to the condiment bar to mix myself up some horsey sauce - mayo + horseradish. It helped, but was still disappointed that the beef itself was so bland. Fries were good, shrooms were good. Just not sure that I'm enticed to come back again.

I would definitely get the turkey again no doubt. I thought the girl at the cashier was a little standoffish. She didn't greet me upon entering. She also gave me the wrong order. Now we placed this online and pre-paid. How about asking people names before giving away their food. I returned the bag back to her and told her that's not my name. Wowww all she had to do was ask my name. Other than that the food I purchased was good. So 3.5 ratings for the food. Not for the customer service. Maybe it wasn't a good day for her. They had an assortment of toppings to add. I get that sandwich again for sure. The ribs were kinda sweet and very fast however they were on the tough side. I'm used to fall off the bone ribs personally. The chicken could use a bit more cooking as the skin seemed a bit flabby for my taste I prefer a more crispy skin on my chicken. I popped it in the oven when I got home and that was some good doggone smoked bbq chicken. The staff was extremely friendly they worked fast and even gave suggestions. The bbq sauces I had were the regular and obey sauce. Both were amazing on my chicken. The store had a few seats to eat in it's a small space but it's gets the job done. Overall I'll give that platter a 7.5/10, mainly because those ribs were too tough. But everything had a great taste toast to it. The star of the show for me was the pit turkey. And for bbq the prices were amazing. Getting affordable bbq/pit sandwiches are not an easy task. I'm coming back again soon.

I think I might have set my expectations a bit too high…read more Pulling up to the restaurant and seeing the massive amount of chopped fire wood, I was like this place is going to be off the hook. Upon entering, I thought it was an interesting setup because I assumed that this spot was a restaurant/(dive)bar. Turns out it is a restaurant in a liquor store...or maybe it's a liquor store in a restaurant. I'll admit that this misunderstanding was on me. Someone suggested the restaurant, and I did not do any follow-up research. Although the restaurant is connected to a liquor store, you cannot consume alcohol inside. But, I guess that was not a deal breaker because I was more interested in some good ol' BBQ. At the counter, I started to look over the menu because there were quite a lot of interesting items. They have a long list of various BBQ/meat items and a bunch of sides. For my dining pleasure, I went with the two meat (general BBQ and sausage), two sides combo (greens and mac n cheese), which was about 18 bucks. The price for the amount of food wasn't too bad. To be frank the food was not what I expected. Ok, the food was not horrible, but I think that I might have set my expectations too high. Normally, when I think of Texas BBQ, I think of meat that is slowly cooked so that it's very tender. The meat here seemed like it was cooked on a grill and mixed with BBQ sauce immediately prior to serving. To me, the meat was a bit tougher than what I have normally experienced in most BBQ restaurants. Perhaps, the restaurant was having a bit of an off day during our visit.

This was pulled off their sandwich menu for combos with fries and a sweet tea. Pit beef was on my list of things to eat in Maryland. I originally wanted to check out another spot, but it wasn't convenient location wise. My friend suggested this one instead. He was the driver so I said it was fine without thinking much of it. Realized later this isn't actually the pit beef I read about and wanted, but it's a decent spot for a meat sando. All our meals came with a soup which was yummy. Kinda like chicken noodle / dumpling soup. That was actually my fav thing here. The pit beef was more like a roast beef sandwich which was fine. I actually enjoyed the brisket more. The bonfire bbq they describe like a sloppy joe. Tho I thought it wasn't as saucy and messy. Not exactly what I was expecting sandwich wise, but I was nicely surprised by their complimentary soup.
