You're welcome. There are a lot of moving parts when making a car purchase. Will you deal with pushy salespeople? Will you *really* get a good price? Will the trade in be a hassle? Will the finance department mess you over? All of these are things we dread about car shopping. Which is where Another Time has offered a refreshing difference each time we've been there. As parents, and consumers with plenty of car purchases under our belts (for better or worse), we had worries about our young adult's first independent car purchases. And TWICE now, Another Time has exceeded our expectations. First, a few years ago, with the purchase of an older Camry. A great deal, friendly but NOT pushy sales support, and straightforward pricing with no hidden charges at the contract signing. As for the car itself, we had eyes wide open on what to reasonably expect from a 14 year old used car for $3,000, and so should you. No matter what you buy, from ANYONE, it will need something. So we had no surprises. Second, and most noteworthy was our experience today. Our son was financing a car for the first time on his own. We have been looking all over town in what has proven to be a very difficult car market. We had been on this lot previously and not found anything he liked. Last night the car he has been dreaming of was posted at a very fair price. Knowing how quickly cars move on this lot, we were there today at 8 a.m. Our son checked the Carfax, test drove and decided it was all systems go on the purchase. We then moved on to the trade in, where we negotiated a fair offer given the condition of the car. Everything was moving quickly, next we were headed to finance (this is the part where things often go south). He had taken our advice of being preapproved by a neutral 3rd party bank before shopping at the dealerships. We shared the preapproved rate with Robert in finance, and he started the process of seeing how he could beat it. Here's the thing. When someone both ENJOYS and is GOOD at what they do, it's evident in how hard they work to help, and how genuine they are in the transaction. Robert pulled off what we thought NO ONE could. He dropped that rate, for a young first time car buyer, from 11% to 6.49%! His excitement for my son was genuine and he truly made the transaction as easy as possible with his patience and knowledge. Everything was transparent, there were no hidden surprises. Polar opposite of what we've experienced at the big box dealerships. My son drove home today in an AWESOME Toyota at what seems to be a great deal all the way around. We are confident he won't be upside down in his loan, and will have a car that lasts several years. Upon purchasing a car fax today on my own, there are multiple accidents, owners and the truck was sitting on that lot for over 10 months. The salesman said it "just came in" and they had done a whole transmission replacement and all this other maintenance and none of that is noted on the car fax. This is especially upsetting because we had been burned before and we specifically asked about car accidents and were told no! And shown a car fax on the office's computer screen... only to find out multiple accidents. We paid for the truck with cash and today we are selling it and for about 8k less than what we bought it for, because it's truly a piece of junk. I would not buy anything here, don't look here, don't call them, nothing. Stay far away.

I wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone else…read more I put down a deposit on a vehicle back in September 2025 that I ultimately never received. When I gave ALBERT the deposit I asked if I dont get the car I can get my money back? He said yes, dont worry. WELLL.....Getting the refund back turned into a process. I had to make multiple visits, and communication was none existent until I filed a complaint with the Attorney General. In the response to my complaint they said if I provided proof of the charge they would refund my money promptly, which was a lie. I provided them my bank statement and they still wanted the ORIGINAL CARD that was charged. Because my original debit card had been replaced by my bank, they made excuses about how they couldnt process the refund. I requested a check, but they insisted it had to go back to the original card. Then they asked me to call my bank, yet another hoop to jump through to get MY money back which set me off. So I cussed them out and called them theives and liars and stormed out. However, I calmed down and decided to try one more time. After calling my bank and getting the old card number, they were able to process the refund and gave me a receipt. I'm now waiting for it to post. In the hour and half I was there, I also witnessed physical violence between two salesman that had got into an arguement.... Salesman 1 went to salemans 2 desk and popped him upside the head. Saleman 2 then stood up and the arguement escalated before he slapped him smooth across his face. A third salesman stepped between them and de escalated them. It was uncomfortable to watch as a customer. This place is questionable at best, they lied to me about the car, they lied about how I can recieve my refund, they are very unprofessional and aggressive. In the end, the refund was processed, but it required months of persistence on my part. I would never recommend buying a car from here if you want your money in trusted hands. I was very leary of purchasing pre-owned as I have heard so many horror car buying stories of shady salesman, selling faulty vehicles and lacking clarity about the true vehicle condition, so I started my research. It took me close to a month of research, before I found a preowned dealership that still honored integrity. I knew the cars I was interested in and found my way to Goldie's. I was working with another dealership, as I had been pre-approved, but let me tell you what made the difference.. the service at Goldie's ! Through text and email, John, my sales-friend, (I call him) was so relatable and communicative. Walking in I have to admit is pretty cool, in the show room they had a old school IMMACULATE Corvette, a skew ball machine, and arcade games it felt unlike any other dealership I had walked in. The owners son greeted me and asked if I needed anything and to let him know if I did! He was the sweetest teenager. When they say Goldie's is a family business they really mean it ! I was working with John and let me tell you he was so transparent and honest it was like a breath of fresh air. I had considered other vehicles they had but he talked me through the maintenance cost, resale value and common mechanical issues each of the cars I had considered. Once I settled on a vehicle he was able to check for me the maintenance records as well as reviewed the carfax report with me. When I took the car for a test drive he told me to take my time get to know the car and make sure it was right for me. I never felt pressured to purchase. I was having a horrible time in dealing with the insurance payout of my previous vehicle and John was very empathetic in understanding my situation. He had set expectations before I came that with the insurance payout being delayed I may not be able to take the vehicle the vehicle home. I was thrilled with the no pressure atmosphere, and just came to take a look at the vehicle in person, with zero expectation to buy. John and his manager worked magic. I did in fact decide to purchase my vehicle and was able to take it home, there is a small cosmetic issue that I requested to have repaired and he called immediately and got the approval to get it taken care of. I'll be returning later this week to have that completed. I'll keep you guys posted after the service appointment. I had a great experience and I feel I got a good deal on my vehicle and, I felt like my business was valued, my concerns were heard and they've made a lifelong customer out of me ! Do you have the desire to simply be treated like a human being and not a sale/commission? Try Nelson's. They aren't a normal car lot... and if you understand business and the costs associated with it all you'll get it once you see their offerings. We were able to get a reliable car for our teenage son at just the right price. It didn't need any mechanical work done, and when we took it to get new tires it was verified that the suspension and brakes were both in great shape (hard to check those otherwise). Bonus: the picture of the car online actually matched what the car looked like in person. No "from this angle you can't see the huge scratch down the side of the entire car" shots. What you see is what you get. When I followed up on the sole issue with the car (a windshield replacement that was included with the car purchase due to a chip in the one it came with) I received a prompt response including confirmation that the title and plate were sent - plus an ask for me to let him know that we received it. That's not something you'll EVER get from a big name dealership. I will absolutely come back to Cody and his team should I ever be in the market for another car. (That would be a brokering deal, which they also do!)
