I find myself leaving reviews and ratings when a business is catastrophically horrible. So time to give some positive reviews to balance that out to deserving businesses. Chanthy's is excellent. She hemmed a new pair of jeans I'd splurged dearly for -- Imogene + Willy are designed and made in Tennessee of local and USA sourced cotton dyes, hardware -- so I needed them to be perfect. Chanthy was patient to measure the hem with me. A lot of microadjustments. Too much break. No, not no break. Just a smidge of break. Just right. Days of the $3 lined pants hemmed to perfection, ready in 2-3 hours by Jose Taylor in LES (NY'ers from early Aughts will know who I'm talking about). Even then, Jose was a unicorn among taylors. Chanthy does an excellent job with hems, charges $16, returned in a week. She is lovely. And I heartily endorse supporting her and her business. read more

I inherited a cool vintage dinner jacket that needed alterations. Tailors in Beverly, Cambridge and Boston all declined the job due the the difficult nature of the task and the delicate vintage material. But when I brought it to Chanthy: "no problem it will be ready in 3 days". And the result: WOW! Also, she also did a simple repair on a favorite old jersey right on the spot.
