the customer service is abysmal and non existent. I dropped off a pair of jeans, said the latest possible pick up date was 10 days from drop off. when I called 7 days later asking if they're ready yet, just to check in, I got absolutely berated on the phone about how I said a different date and I'm wrong. All he needed to do was tell me they're busy and it's not done yet. Instead I got yelled at, interrupted and talked to for 15+ minutes, multiple phone calls because I eventually hung up due to the rudeness and a final voicemail telling me they would no longer work on the pants and to come get them. Booked an appointment 4 months in advance for wedding dress tailoring. When I made the appointment, they seemed surprised when I asked if I should leave my phone number. Drove an hour for the appointment only to find a sign on the door stating they were closed for the week. No one attempted to contact me to cancel/change my appointment. Thankfully, a very kind and skilled tailor at a different business worked me in on the same day. I had a unusual item that I needed mended, a medical sling for a hoyer lift, and the owner guy did a great job. Took over a week and a half but no bigger. Brought some work uniforms to these guys and they came out great! I look and feel great at work. Got a lot of compliments too. Then brought two pairs of work pants and they nailed it again! The only issue is that they are a bit pricey but their talent shows the price is justified! It was $180 for three white tops ( arms had to be shortened and the midsection taken in) and it was $15 per pair of pants to be hemmed. I will be coming back to get more of my clothes done! I had a horrible experience at this tailoring shop and caution people (especially women) from supporting this business... I needed last minute alterations done to a bridesmaids dress that included taking in the shoulder straps and hemming the dress. Prior to bringing my dress in to be tailored, I called the shop and specifically asked if they would be able to perform the alterations to my dress within a limited time period and the man that I spoke with said that they would be able to perform the alterations. When I was fitted for alterations on my dress (on Monday) I was asked when I needed to pick it up and I said Thursday morning as I would be heading to a wedding up north later that day- he ( who I think is the owners younger brother) gave me a receipt that stated that the cost was $130 which is expensive for what I needed done to the dress but due to it being last minute I didn't mind paying for what needed to be done. I went to the shop on Thursday morning to pick up my dress when an older man and his middle aged son were behind the counter and I asked to pick up my dress- they were looking all over for the dress until the middle aged man finally went upstairs and stated that they needed more time to do the alterations- I stated that I didn't have time as I would be leaving for a wedding. I then asked for the dress back- he refused to give it to me stating that he needed 2 hrs to get the alterations finished and I said no give me the dress and then he said 1 hour and I said ok. And then he proceed to state how I didn't give them enough time and that they had over 200 dresses that they needed to perform alterations on in an abrasive manner. I had my husband go in to pay for and pick up the dress and the middle aged man had nothing to say to him. So basically I paid 130 dollars for a little over an hours worth of work to a dress that was not altered properly (loose straps) and was made to feel like the lack of communication within the business was my fault. The worst part is I was given a recommendation to get the alterations done by a seamstress who would have had it done the next day (but was located farther away) and it would most likely of been less expensive. read more

We took a prom dress here and at first the customer service was good, but ultimately the dress wasn't tailored well at all. When we questioned the work and had asked for adjustments the owner and his son's were verbally abusive and insulting. Very expensive for very poor quality. Brought a simple gown to be hemmed and change the zipper out from gold to black. Hem was ok, nothing special. The zipper job was terrible. No hook to close it at the top which was needed since a poor quality zipper was used that was rounded at the top. The zipper unzipped, as a result, the entire night of the event. While wearing the dress I noticed something long and bulky around my butt. The zipper was about 24" long and they used about 12" of it - they simply left the other 12 inches hanging in the dress and did not properly cut it and stitch it. The job was a $10 job for labor but cost $90. Will not go there again - horrible. read more

They are overpriced and have a sign inside that they only take cash for alterations, but I was 6 weeks from my wedding and my dress came in late so I was just going to have them do it. They had my wedding dress for 2.5 weeks and went for my second fitting (an appointment they made with me at my first fitting) they hadn't even touched my dress. They also had a hard time finding it. They were very rude when I asked why they had me come back for a second fitting when they hadn't even started my dress telling me that I couldn't tell them how to do their job and actually insulted me about my job because I had my name tag on since I came on my lunch break. Then when I said I wanted my dress and deposit back they continued to tell me that no one else would be able to do my dress in time and would do a horrible job. The only place I will go for tailoring ever again! The owner is prompt and courteous. I am very short and I always have to get my pants hemmed and rather than butcher them myself I can take them in to Salem Custom Tailoring and pick them up at the close of day and he only charges me 15$ a hem. That is a steal in my book. I brought him 2 pairs earlier this year and he had them done in a day and understood my need for it to be same day pick up. I just picked up two more pairs today and they are perfect. The length is great and he managed to keep the width of the original bottom throughout the jeans minus the almost extra foot of fabric. Often when I have to get my pants hemmed they just cut and hem. The owner lets the pants out on the side too so it still maintains the boot it or bellbottom style. Never will I give my pants to a company that sends them out for a week or two again. Get good customer service and precise work done here. read more
