This is my first Yelp review but it had to be said that Sohn Tailors' work is exceptional. I brought in two pairs of jeans that were extremely big in the waist and there was a lot of material that needed to be cut out (this is a difficult task because large alterations can distort the original look of the item) however when I got my jeans back at a very reasonable price, the alterations were seamless. The picture I attached shows the back of the pants where he had taken out a large amount of fabric and the jeans look untouched. It looked as if I had just purchased them brand new but they fit perfectly. I will definitely continue to support his business read more

While the quality of work Mr. Sohn produces Is admirable, he has zero respect for his customer's time. I gave him multiple chances, however on several occasions the work was not completed by the time promised. The final time I used him, it took me four separate trips to his store to get my garment back. I have entered his shop to find him watching YouTube videos only to be told my hem wasn't done. For some reason, I thought I had written a review for this tailor! Anyways, when I moved to NH a few years back, I searched far and wide for a good tailor. Joy of former Tallulah Rose had recommended him, as well as a few other fashion shops. First thing you will notice is all the artwork that completely soars over your head as well as some art pieces on the ground. He has an image or dream to see his ethereal angels all over the place ... they are quite the work, and quite the time put into them. It is his passion, and he works around the clock! Anyways, my first visit, I brought 10 pairs of pants! Heheh .... I was due for some major hemming, or due to grow a few more inches taller. He was very nice and does very good quality of work. His English is limited, but can clearly communicate by showing how he would do things .... hemming, or finishing, repairing, etc. He also repaired my fiance's (one of his) favorite jeans ... he had a huge tear in it ... and he did some major creative work! And looks great! He does any alterations! .... and what amazes me, is the huge queue of clothes to be altered (saw many bridesmaid dresses and some fancy Burberry and Chanel pieces for alteration), and he always never ceases to remember what belongs to who, etc. All the details etc ... it's all in his head! Despite the absolutely bizarre hours, Mr. Sohn is a great person, super friendly and does good work quickly. I needed a couple of pairs of pants hemmed in a hurry and he did them and had them ready the next day. I had never really realized what he actually did at his shop other than art...when you see anything going on here, that's what you see...Mr Sohn creating his angels. When you walk into his shop, that's what you'll see. His art is everywhere and takes up most of the space in his shop. Quirky and odd, yes, but he's doing what he loves to do and believes in something and the fact that it's not exactly mainstream makes it even more amazing to me. Just came back from picking up my jacket. Asked my Sohn to replace the zipper. It was a Monday and he said would be ready by Wednesday evening. I returned Thursday at lunch to pick it up and he at first struggled to find it, then handed it to me untouched and began a stream of apologies. I walked out the door without words. He may have been a good tailor at one time, but this place is now more a showcase for his "art". I won't even get into that part.. read more

Mr. Sohn's workshop is small, but dont let that fool you! He fixed my suit jacket, suit pants, and two dress shirts that were too baggy. He did an excellent job. Everything fits great and looks sharp. You cannot tell they have been altered; everything has a factory finished look; and, im a very detail oriented person. His english is not great, but you can understand him. I dropped my suit off before christmas and it ended up taking 2x longer than I think he said it would take to be ready. This was understandable because of the Christmas and New Years holliday rush and the slight language barrier. Mr. Sohn is a very nice guy. He has very reasonable pricing for the excellent work he does. In my oppinion, the reason he is such a good tailor is because he is an artist; he has some amazing sculputres in his work shop. Ruined my pants. The seams were not straight. The thread doesn't match. It's incredibly noticeable where the pants were tailored and I'm not sure I'll wear these again because of this terrible tailoring job. read more

AMAZING! I was looking for a place to get my maxi skirt hemmed.. It was a saturday night and ideally I wanted it to be done no later than Monday afternoon. I called every place I could think of and no tailors are open on Sundays. Mr. Sohn answered his phone at 9pm on Saturday night. Mr. Sohn opened his store specially for me sunday afternoon! I brought the skirt in on Sunday and he had it done for me by Monday afternoon (LABOR DAY). I am thoroughly impressed with his work and his efficiency. I highly recommend him! read more

Last week I was in a panic - I lost quite a bit of weight and and had an interview in NYC. I couldn't get the matching pants in my size at Macy's - they were sold out! I called Mr Sohn to ask if he could perform a same day alteration and he said absolutely. When I arrived - I was greeted by a very kind and friendly gentleman. His shop is indeed full of life sized angels everywhere. Mr. Sohn thought I simply needed my pants hemmed, when I tugged on the area at the top of my thighs to my waist, he said "ohhh" too big! He's a master. The alternations he did for my numerous shirts were amazing. Absolutely no signs of anything til I could see how much better they fit me now. Had 2 pair men's dress pants altered at Sohn's (1 Factory St. Nashua). This guy is a master! Took in the waist (did a fantastic job blending the tapering of the new smaller waist into the pantleg. Can't tell they've ever been altered. Second pair of pants needed to be shortened. He gave me the option of creating a cuff or leaving straight-leg. His cuff work on the pants is excellent. I needed a zipper replaced on a computer bag for work - immediately. He did a fantastic job and I was back to work before 11am. First, he is open before most places, 9am. He was nice ( I will say a little difficult to understand on the phone, but his skills are sewing, he's not running a call center) He cares about his work, he even stitched a ripped area that was not part of the job-he did extra work, trimmed all threads. His bill was $12. I gave him $15 and will use him again for sure! read more

One of the dresses required a lot of work as the beading was hanging and it need a built in bra, the dresscame out beautiful and it fit her just right...it was a lot of work and I was surprised at how reasonable the price was. What a DISASTER! Needed to have a bridesmaid dress altered, found mostly good reviews on here so I called ahead. During my appointment Sohn did not listen to my requests (shorter, not as tight). When I returned a week and a half later for my scheduled appointment I was already very nervous, I show up and a bridesmaid dress is done and ready, but it's not mine. He hadn't even started mine, it was still hanging in the bag I brought it in, all the safety pins were they were a week and a half ago. My phone number was written next to my appointment on his calendar but he didn't call me. He offered to have it done that night by 430 but I had plans so we agreed that the next morning I would come in at 10am. I show up and he wouldn't even let me in, the dress is still not ready. So now I have to come back in another two hours, so I wander around until he actually called me and it was done. I try on the dress and shocker it's too tight, too long and it just looks off. So now after paying $85 for this disaster I have to find someone to pay more to fix it, oh yeah and I've got less than a week. Thanks for nothing!!! Just don't bother! read more

Tried him out based on previous reviews and was extremely dissatisfied. My husband had a new Italian dress suit and I had a dress to alter for an upcoming wedding. His scheduled hours were until 6pm on Mondays. When I got there, 5:45 pm, he was sitting in the alley and he told me he was closed. Odd. When my husband went back the next day he said he took no credit cards, although he said prior he took Mastercard and Visa. Again, odd. When my husband tried on his suit, the hem was 2 inches too short and the jacket sleeves were 1/2 inch off! Brand new Italian suit! We had to take it to another tailor, who was shocked by the poor quality. She has to add fabric to the lining of the jacket to correct his 1/2 inch error. I am thoroughly dissappointed and disgusted that not only do I have to pay twice to have the work done, but that he also ruined a great suit! He is a wonderful artist in plaster and paper mache, yes, but with tailoring, I'm afraid not. read more

Sohn is first and foremost and artist. He doesn't settle for almost good enough. I've purchased a couple of very high end (multi-thousand dollar) Italian suits for reasonable prices that weren't even close to fitting.. some too large and some too small. He has performed major surgery on them - shortening them, moving pockets, opening and expanding seams and the reverse just about everywhere. In *all* cases, it was impossible to tell where the Italian craftsman work ended and where Sohn's began - he knows and understand the intricacies of high end clothing and showed me a few things I didn't know. He has also fixed the second rate work that other tailors had done to my suits before I had met him. Be prepared for some odd hours and some visual spectacles.. Sohn *really* is an artist.. and he does his work and his art in the same studio.. a really fascinating and wonderful human being.. it's like having Picasso do your cloths for you. read more
