KK Tailoring and Custom Design - Bad tailoring even after giving her a second chance to correct the mistake

We would highly recommend K&K Tailoring for all your tailoring needs! Kate met and exceeded our…read moreexpectations! She took my mother's 1990's wedding dress with poofy sleeves that were adorned with bows and a long satin, lace trimmed train and transformed it into my dream wedding dress. Kate completely re-shaped the top to become a sweetheart neckline with straps, removed the bows of course, added beading and sequins to the bodice, cut down the train, added POCKETS (huge desire, I'm all about my pockets) and most importantly added a glitter tulle with a gold sparkle over the satin skirt. The extra lace trim from the train was added to the beautiful mid-length veil that Kate had at her shop. There was just enough- the perfect amount- lace added to go around the outline of the veil. This allowed the veil to match perfectly the dress. Planning a wedding in less than 6 months can be a little stressful. When I decided I wanted to wear my mom's wedding dress we called and went in for our first consult in January. Kate confidently said she would have it ready for us to bring home by the end of April. Well, life and prom season happened and we didn't have a final fitting until the beginning of June. I'm not going to lie, this caused some anxiety and stress but it was worth the wait!!! Ultimately, I'm glad I picked it up closer to my wedding so that it was the absolute perfect fit. Again, it was well worth the wait and far exceeded everything I wanted. But wait there's more....Kate created the perfect "flower puppy" dress for our dog Missandei!!! Our dog is our princess and already had a pearl necklace for the wedding, and Kate created a dress specifically for Missandei (using the material from the poofy sleeves and the bow) that matched the design of my dress. The completed dress was exactly what I envisioned and more. The dress truly made me feel like "the princess becoming a queen" look that I dreamt of. The wedding day was beautiful, the dress was amazing, and we couldn't have asked for more

Honestly if I could give it no stars I would. I've traveled all the US lived on west coast and east…read morecoast for the last 5 years traveling every 6 months to a year and each tailor I've used has never made the mistakes this place has made. If you're considering this location run and don't look back. I had brought my pants in and I even brought a sample size pants which I saw her measure and when she returned them to me as you can see the cream color pants the hemming had uneven legs and wasn't even the length of the sample. When I took it back in she measure it again and still made the mistake a second time. This is the longest reviews I've made it and I would feel injustice if I let anyone else consider this place without knowing what I've been through. To add to the catastrophic experience, the tailor here wasn't even amiable, no hello good day nothing. Don't do it!

I got my prom dress altered here about 4 years ago and I thought she did a good job. The straps…read morewere shortened and the dress was taken in, costing around $20. I came here this time to get my suit jacket taken in and the zipper fixed on a dress. My sister gets her suit jackets taken in here all the time, and it had always cost her around $10-$15, so I expected that. When I came in, she pinned the jacket and then wrote on the receipt that it would cost $35. That seems a bit much for just some taking in of a blazer and could go towards the cost of buying a brand new blazer. When I asked her why it was that much, she didn't really have an answer. So I decided to just have the dress done. It was a brand new dress that had an iffy zipper. I brought it in with the price tag still on it, in the event that it's not fixable, I would return it. She stated it would be an easy fix with no need for a new zipper. I just picked it up, and nothing seems changed; in fact, it seems worse. The hole that was in the zipper is still there and she cut the price tag off (even though it wasn't in the way of the zipper). When I informed her that I'm still having the same trouble with the zipper, she and her co-worker didn't even move from their seats to see what the issue might be, or what could be done to fix it. She just said "if it's still not fixed it needs a new zipper." Even though that's not what she said originally, and has already cut the price tag off so I can't return it. I do believe they tailor well but I do not appreciate their business practices and will not be returning.
