As others have mentioned, Mr Sene absolutely DOES NOT have a business owner's true appreciation for customer feedback. He immediately takes on a defensive attitude, making everything about himself; thereby, rendering himself unable to even hear feedback, let alone act on it. He has turned me away for less complicated work when another tailor was receptive to input, turned out beautiful work and when promised. In addition, evidently Mr Sene has no concern when making customers return 3 times to retrieve promised items that have not yet even been touched. Reviews here show I'm not alone. This shop was a hole in the wall, but worth a look especially for tricky zippers on winter coats. It looks like a one guy shop, but he knows what he's doing. He told how he would tackle my broken zipper and asked for 2-3 weeks to order the zipper and install. It was ready on time and he was a very pleasant and knowledgeable taylor. The shop seems unorganized but he didn't have any trouble finding my order. He was dressed very professionally and I never doubted he could help me. The cost of the repair was fair at $35.00 considering it was a tricky job. It gave an old jacket a chance at a few more years of service and I was so happy to have found the shop. read more

While I don't doubt that numerous people have had great experiences here, I unfortunately did not. I believe this was a case of the owner taking on too much when he should have said no to my timeline and needs. I brought in a few dresses for upcoming weddings. I was a little uncomfortable when I was told that some of the things I'd like done were not possible, and that he wouldn't have the items ready until just days before each wedding, but I trusted the reviews and left all of my items to be altered. My first bridesmaid dress was done on the day agreed, but not the time (I was told to come back a little later after leaving work early to come in). While some elements were done well (taking in the bodice and skirt looked great), it was obvious that the work was rushed.. there were threads hanging out, a snag in the fabric, and the hem was about 1.5" too short. When I mentioned these concerns I was told that I was wrong. I was then told that they would now not be able to complete the rest of the items I had brought in by the date previously agreed on. So 10 days before my brothers wedding I called about a half dozen other tailors crying and begging someone to help me. Thankfully I found a wonderful tailor who was able to do all of the work very quickly, and even completed the requests I was previously told were impossible. Again, obviously a lot of people have positive experiences (hence why they were so busy) but from now on I'll be going to someone more reliable. read more

Do not use him if it is important. I have been here before with no issues but if you have an event and time frame do not risk. I dropped off 2 shirts to be altered, he told me 1 week. I gave him 2 weeks. I went back and he was sorry and apologized said he hasn't got around to them. promised me come back in 1 week. I told him I can give him 2 weeks but I have an event I need my shirts for. He said 1 week they will be done, come back on tueday. I go in on Thursday and they are not done. WTF? he says oh I thought friday, they still wouldn"t have been done by friday. He is full of shit and just wasted a month and 2 visits. Now I can't even use either shirts I bought for my event. I will never go here again. He is too slow and disorganized and unreliable. read more

I lived in Burlington for 3 years and first went to this little shop when I needed alterations for a bridesmaid dress. I literally went in 1 (maybe 2) weeks before I had to leave and he agreed he could have it done in time. I picked up the dress the day I was leaving for the wedding in a different state. I was nervous it wouldn't be done but when I called he always assured me he would finish in time. That dress fit great and everything was done very nicely. I have taken 2 more bridesmaid dresses and 3 long formal dresses to him and he has always done a wonderful job! I honestly didn't realize how great he was until we move further north and I tried to find another shop that was close to me. I brought my formal dress into 2 shops around the area I live and they both told me they couldn't do it because the fabric was too delicate for their machines. I finally found a shop and while I haven't gotten my dress back the price is significantly higher than I ever paid at the Burlington Tailor Shop. Any alternations I need for the future I will be driving the 30 minutes to go back to Burlington! I honestly wish I walked back into the current shop and brought it here! read more
