Well, I found this place and sent my daughter here for a few minor alterations to a dress. This woman charged $100 to take in the dress, and fix 2 small stitches at the seam. Talk about taking advantage of a kid. She did good work but $100 is egregious! Do not recommend! read more

Susan did such a great job. I brought in a very unusual piece of a clothing, a very thick, heavy martial arts gi. If you are familiar with them you would know the material is very tough to work with and not something tailors see often, if ever. I had another tailor that has done regular men's clothes for me but he did not seem confident in shortening the material. He is closer to my home so I used him in the past out of convenience. I found Susan who seemed very confident but acknowledged the material would be difficult to work with. I picked up the item a week later and she did a PERFECT job. Also, the item is used in a full contact sport so it is grabbed and pulled by others. Not a delicate material. Susan did such a great job that I will now be bringing all of my regular clothes in to her even though it is an extra few minutes from my home. She earned a customer. She was easy to work with, very nice, the work was priced fairly, and she did a great job. I cannot recommend her enough! read more

I wish I could give zero star to this place. Sent in a pair of new pants in to alternate the length. Came out with terrible result. Pants was just simply cut to length and fold inside without iron press, the thread color doesn't even match the pants. Now I just have another of new pants in my close and I will never wear them. Be aware and stay away. read more

I came to Susan one week before my Prom this year, I needed my dress hemmed and she extended the zipper and put in a corset back all over the weekend and was ready for me on Monday!! Great place! I needed a tailor quick to do some last minute alterations on a bridesmaid dress for a friends wedding. I called over and they told me to come on by and show me what I needed done. It's located right next to Abbey Bridal in Andover, it's a tiny little space and an adorable Asian woman named Susan runs it. She's AWESOME! I had two really fast fittings and my dress was all set, it probably took all of 5 days total from me walking in the door to me picking up the finished dress. I tried express tailor on a whim and had such a really nice experience. I took a pair of premium denim jeans in to be shortened (wanted original hem reattached) and the first great sign was that she gave me a really careful fitting -- even noticing a slight difference in my leg lengths that had not been accounted for in the past. The second great sign was when she said, "tomorrow, after 3?" I almost fell over. less than 24 hour service for a reasonable price ($21). Jeans were ready as promised and looked very good/ready to wear. I plan to go back to her from now on! read more

I was looking for a place to get jeans hemmed and to get a pair i got thrifting tapered. Everything was reasonably priced, and was done in a timely fashion. She also is definitely looking out for you, she asked me if I even wanted to pay for the taper (which, having spent 5 dollars on the pants, +$30 still put me under the usual price). I had to get a bridesmaid dress altered in a hurry because I live in California, my dress was in Massachusetts, and I flew in 2 days before the wedding. I called the week before and let her know about my circumstance. I arrived at her shop Wednesday morning and had the dress back by Friday morning and it fit perfectly. The dress had many layers and needed to be taken in and hemmed so it was a lot of work. I would definitely recommend this place great job, great value and great customer service. read more

Really good service! I had a bridesmaid's dress that needed to be shortened, bust taken in, and have straps added. It was about $138, which was kind of a killer, but you know... that was a lot of work. She also works INCREDIBLY fast. Susan is the best!! I took a bridesmaid dress to her that needed to be altered. She quickly took a look at the dress and went to work mocking it up to my body. Within three days she was done with her initial alterations and had me come back in for a fitting. PERFECT! Two days after that, she was done with it and I could pick it up anytime I wanted. She says it will take her like two-three weeks- but it doesn't. She is really affordable, very personable and does perfect work. The BEST around for all you bridesmaids out there! read more
