My grandson just turned one and he loves Coco Melon. Chantel's Bakery designed a Coco Melon cake for the occasion. The cake was light, moist, and delicious. It was adorable and the kids really loved the Coco Melon characters on top. The cake was huge and plenty to feed everyone. We only had one hiccup and that was the cake wasn't ready at the agreed upon time, so my son had to wait about 20 minutes for it to be finished. But, it looked perfect when they were done. Other than that, everything was wonderful and they added some cupcakes to our order because we had to wait. Which I thought was a very nice thing to do. I would definitely recommend Chantel's Bakery for your next cake.
This was my first time ordering from Chantel's Bakery and had a wonderful experience. I needed to order a cake at the last minute and they were able to help me. Not knowing any other allergy free bakery in the area, I was so glad to have found a bakery that could deliver just that. My whole experience from talking to the store to placing the order within a few minutes on their site -- everything went smoothly! I was beyond grateful that they offered so many options for allergy free cakes, all the way from the cake to the type of frosting you wanted! The cake tasted amazing! The cocoa flavor was the star of the show and nothing felt artificial! Delicious cake, 100% recommended!
I have been getting cakes and desserts from Chef Dennis for over 21 years. Have gotten many birthday and holiday cakes and desserts from Chantel's. This year we tried the Smith Island cake; the chocolate was delicious and caramel was a satisfying sweet treat. Service is always excellent; Chef Dennis and team go above and beyond to ensure excellent service. You can smell the sweet confections as soon as you open the door to the shop. Never a long wait for help.
Thank you so much for making such a beautiful birthday cake. Everything was perfect and communication was excellent! Delish!!
I have been hearing about Chantel's amazing cakes from a friend for years. For my granddaughter's first birthday I needed an allergen free cake and decided to go to Chantel's. It was the most wonderful experience. From ease of ordering, to sending photos of exactly what kind of mermaid cake we wanted and picking it up there was not a single hiccup. We had the most incredibly beautiful cake that tasted out of this world! This will be my go to custom cake bakery from now on!!
Please don't come here!!!!! He is unprofessional!!!!!!!!!!!!!I This man essentially robbed us without a gun he ruined our birthday he charged us $116 for 12 cupcakes!!!!!!! Please don't come here!!!!! Save your hard earned money .I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a recent order I placed for cupcakes at your establishment. I specifically requested that monk fruit be used as a sugar substitute for the cupcakes intended for my cousin's and my birthdays. When I placed the order, Dennis informed me that he had not used monk fruit before, to which I responded that I appreciated his willingness to try. Dennis provided an initial estimate for the cupcakes, but on the day of pickup, I was informed that the price had increased. Ultimately, I paid $116 for cupcakes that were of substandard quality, resembling hard cornbread. The only modification I requested was the sugar substitute. Given this, I am puzzled as to why the texture of the cupcakes was so poor. I believe it would have been appropriate for Dennis to contact me if he encountered issues with the recipe, particularly if the cupcakes did not meet acceptable standards. Instead, I received a product that was not fit for consumption. As a result, I felt compelled to donate the cupcakes to a homeless shelter. This is criminal to have sold these bad tasting cupcakes. I should call my bank and stop payment! This experience has been disappointing, and I will not be returning to your bakery. I strongly recommend reviewing your quality control processes to prevent similar issues in the future.
We ordered a blueberry covered gluten free cheese cake. It was DIVINE. The cheesecake was silken smooth, the crust was like graham crackers made of sugar cookies, the whipped frosting was beautifully light, and the blueberries were large and perfectly fresh, with a tasty glaze. I will be ordering this again everytime our gluten free friends and family come to visit!

Disappointments right and left. If you want a professional cake, order from someone else. I'm starting to think my cake was done by a beginner, which would be fine with me if it would have been corrected before pickup. And if you don't have the time to properly fulfill this order and create a presentable product, then please decline! Picture of what was asked and picture of what has been prepared are included. Was not expecting an identical cake to the example, but a cake that at least has been made with attention to detail and overall is pleasing to look at. The cake I received was lopsided, sloppy swirls and one swirl looked like it was touched. There was a random unicorn confetti piece on top and one confetti piece on the cake board. The cake board was not cleaned around the cake. The colored buttercream rings around the cake were uneven, and the colored buttercream was not mixed thoroughly with food coloring as white streaks are still visible. As for the taste of the cake, the actual cake itself was moist and had good lemon flavor, but the requested raspberry filling tasted like an overly sweet and cheap jelly. Hubby initially ordered a chocolate buttercream but then changed to white buttercream, chocolate buttercream still ended up as a crumb layer around the cake, oh well. The buttercream itself had a slightly grainy texture (probably from the buttercream starting to stiffening up). For the assembly of the cake, I don't think I've ever seen anything like this when I paid money for a cake. Be it from a different private baker or Harris Teeter or Costco. The layers of the cake are completely misaligned and it looks like the problem was attempted to be corrected with buttercream. Cutting through the cake clearly shows the misaligned layers. The cake is also tapered from bottom to top and looks slightly domed. All these "mistakes" that have been done makes me think this cake has been prepared in a complete rush or by a trainee. You do not make these types of mistakes with years of experience. If done by a trainee, at least let the customer know and reduce the price. There are some explanations on their Facebook (FB) page that may explain the reduced quality, but there are no such explanations on their website that actually has the cake order forms. As a proper business you need to have everything stated on your website. Not everyone uses FB! read more

My toddler is allergic to almost everything. She cannot have wheat, soy, dairy, eggs, nuts, even strawberries and apples. I thought tasty birthday cakes/cupcakes would be impossible until I found Chantel's Bakery! They created a gorgeous and delicious cake for the non allergy crew and beautiful yummy cupcakes for my daughter and her friends. The owner was patient and went through all ingredients with me to ensure my baby would be safe! I'm so thankful for them and will definitely use them in the future! read more

I really wish I could have given this at least a 3 star rating but it did not meet mine or any of my guests expectations at all.(including the birthday girl) The only reason I give it a 1 star rating is because of the cakes appearance. I had ordered a Tres Leches flavored cake and it tasted nothing like it! It was very dry, almost as if it was just a plain vanilla flavored cake. We were all bummed out. This was not worth the $150 plus $20 tip that I paid for it. But I guess you win some you lose some, right? I did reach out to them (November 3) and only got asked if it was about the " 21 cake". I replied (November 5) and haven't gotten anything since then. I hope if you order from them that your order doesn't come out a flop like ours did, best of luck! read more

Yesterday I went to Chantel's Bakery with my older sister. We were coming from Ashburn and we really wanted a cupcake - so we found this bakery online and called. Chef Dennis was amazing, the phone call went well and everything from the service to the tasting of the cupcakes was more than exceptional. I'm very pleased to have found such a great bakery that truly adhere to my needs with food allergies. And for that I will be back and spreading more of the word about Him. read more

Due to my son's peanut allergy, we always used to make our own cakes or buy from the grocery store packaged peanut-free cakes, so I was excited to stumble upon the website for Chantel's Bakery. I gave a call on July 3 and even though the business is closed July 4 was told the cake could be ready before noon the morning of July 5. We ordered one of the cakes on sale and the cake was terrific. Very tall cake - bigger than expected and tasted great. Thank you! read more

Five-word summary for a five-star review: Chef Dennis is truly wonderful. My husband and I celebrated our 11th anniversary this past Saturday. We'd ordered our wedding cake from Chantel's and had been very happy with it. The Tuesday before, my husband asked if we could get a mini version of our wedding cake because the one-year freezer slice had been basically Styrofoam (I didn't realized he'd been carrying that regret the whole time, haha!). I called Chantel's Bakery near close, not expecting that Chef Dennis could make something on short notice that I could pick up on Friday. He said he could, so I asked for just a 6" white cake, chocolate ganache filling, and white icing--what we'd had on the wedding. He asked if I wanted anything written on it, I said "Happy 11th Anniversary," and when he asked for a color, I said "dove grey or silver" (some of our wedding colors). I didn't expect anything beyond some basic rosettes because c'mon, two business days for a homemade three-layer cake. I showed up to THIS. It was so far beyond what I had expected, and Chef Dennis helped me take it to my car with tips on keeping it fresh and good wishes for our anniversary. Not only did we have a wonderfully delicious cake (we're still eating several days later with the same taste and crumb--it's so rich and tasty!), I have some lovely butterfly keepsakes for our memory box and a go-to place for when I want a cake made with care and love. read more

Ever since discovering the deliciousness of a Chantel cake at a family friend's 60th birthday party a few years back, we've gone to Dennis for every special event since then. Whether for personal need, for a business event or referral to a friend, Chantel's Bakery has always come thru with timely & reliable delivery, smart protective packaging, and most importantly: exceptional taste each and every time without fail. Here's a list of the times I remember when my family and I leaned on them for an event cake that would wow guests. My dad's 60th birthday party A team member's 10th Anniversary with us Cupcakes for my wedding rehearsal dinner My mother-in-law's 50th birthday celebration (photo) 2-tiered cake with sheet cakes My wedding cake - 3 tier (photo) with sheet cakes Two-tier semi-naked baby shower cake (photo) My son's first birthday cake (photo) Friend's daughter's wedding cake Joint Birthday cake for 3 family members...along with a gluten free cake (photo) I love all the flavors Dennis offers, and if you like the flavor his cake of the month special is a great value! But his strawberry cake is my absolute favorite, I still dream about it On top of all this, Dennis provides exceptional, over-the-top service, is very kid, and reliable. read more

Chef Stanley's cake was excellent. He was kind and professional. Expectations were clear and met. I felt lucky that he was able to bake a wedding cake for us. The cake was delicious and our guests loved it. I recommend his bakery to everyone. I only wished his shop was closer to us in Reston. I'll be sure to come back here again for other cake-related events. read more

Hosted an engagement party for my daughter and her fiancé and wanted to impress with a beautiful cake. The baker was super helpful during our first in person appointment and I gave him some guidance and let him create. When we picked up the cake we were floored! He said he hadn't decided on the decoration and woke up in the middle of the night with a vision - fresh roses. The cake was so beautiful and his well wishes to me and my husband were so thoughtful and touching I actually teared up. This guy is so lovely and passionate about his work and making people happy. read more

If I could give 10 stars, I would. Chantel helped me out in a pinch, I called and asked for a vegan cake - they have an entire allergy friendly section, and i went online and chose only dairy free. He called me immediately to make sure I didn't miss anything and that my son would be safe with the cake. The cake was created in record time, looked amazing, was reasonably priced and lastly delicious! Please support this small business! read more

I was searching all the DMV area from NY for a cake for my friends 50th birthday and came across this Gem (Dennis). I read the reviews as I was not familiar with his work. I saw the great reviews, but I focused on the negative reviews. We have our own expectations (I do NOT knock personal opinions), but what I noticed was NO ONE spoke poorly of the cake quality. I took a chance and let ME TELL YOU!!!.. I was not disappointed!. Dennis excuted my vision and exceeded my expectations. I chose the lemon and blue velvet (not very known in VA) The cake made me and the party goers do a praise dance... Professionalism and patience is what I got from Dennis (I called a million times) he never rushed me, he even assisted me with ordering some accessories for the cake. He went above and beyond for me. I thank you. My friend and her family and friends also thanks you. If you're EVER looking for a cake in the DMV area, please contact Dennis, you will not be disappointed. I'm so glad I found Chantel's Bakery! The ordering site was so easy to order from - and Chef Daniel was so pleasant to speak with in person and over the phone. This cake was for my friend's baby shower who had a little mermaid / under the sea theme - and everyone loved the design of the cake. The taste of the cake - so good! I wished I had brought Tupperware with me to bring home some cake to have. The frosting was on point too! Thank you so much! read more

Mr. Dennis Stanley has baked "any" cake upon request for the past 5 years. All of the cakes he's created were not only eloquently created, but the taste of the cakes are amazing! My favorite is the red velvet and the strawberry flavor! It's best to call him and leave him a message. He will get back to you within 1-2 business days. This is the second time I place an order from Chantel's and they are just awesome at making allergy free cakes! My 5 year old daughter has an allergy to eggs and nuts and not many bakeries around here make allergy free cakes that actually taste good. Today, I picked up some eggless and nut less cake pops for my daughter and they look and taste absolutely delicious! Thank you for being so accommodating to people with allergies, it makes my mama heart so happy! read more
