Simone has made cakes for my son and husband's birthdays and our baby sprinkle. She is immensely talented and always blows me away with her skills. I sent her examples of things I liked and she was able to come up with something even better than I could have ever imagined. Not only did the cakes come out gorgeous, but they tasted amazing. I can't wait to host another party just to have an excuse to get another cake from her! read more

"this tastes better than my wedding cake" one of my friends exclaimed One of the best cakes we've EVER had! I ordered from them for my wife's birthday and it couldn't have gone any better. Being a custom cake, they took the time to understand my request and delivered exactly what we were looking for. The pickup and payment process was super simple too. You could tell the ingredients were RICH and FRESH. The cake wasn't too sweet which is how we like it! I will definitely be using their services again in the future! read more

I contacted Simone for a custom Mario themed cake days before my son's 8th birthday. What originally started out as a "small birthday play date" quickly turned into a full on party of 10+ kids. With the COVID restrictions in place, we wanted to make sure our son had the best birthday party possible without skipping a beat. Simone exceeded our expectations in every area: visual appeal, taste, creativity, timeliness, and price! The cake was so delicious, several kids were asking for seconds. As soon as everyone saw the cake, the room went quiet and then we heard a stream of "ooohs" and "aaaaahs" We highly recommend Baekehaus for your custom cake order! We can't wait to host our next party! Thank you, Simone!!! read more

We used The Baekehaus for our two tier wedding cake. I contacted them to share my general idea and they sent back ideas and pictures which was very helpful for someone who doesn't know much about wedding cakes. The final result was a beautiful and delicious cake delivered right to our venue in Leesburg, VA! read more

Wow is all I can say!! I get the pretzels and sugar cookies as often as I can from Simone (owner) at the Leesburg farmers markets! I have to make sure to go early before the pretzels sell out and it is so worth it!! I also looove how incredibly stunning she is able to decorate her sugar cookies! They are so thick and soft as well which is a plus! So often sugar cookies are thin with no soft bite to them. Not for The Baekehaus!!! YUM! If I want a cake from her, I try to order at least 3 weeks in advance since she is a one woman show and her calendar will always fill up. She makes the cutest cakes that are always decorated nicely and how I want them! Thank you again and I look forward to many treats from The Baekehaus!! read more

Simone is one of the best bakers in the area. We have given us pictures of three cakes and she made one with every feature we were looking for. The two tier cake was exceptionally spectacular and her delivery was on time. The taste of chocolate and vanilla cake was awesome and everyone liked it. She is highly professional and punctual. Thank you Simone. I will keep ordering cakes from you. read more

Simone helped us create the perfect custom cake for our 4 year old's birthday party. He is obsessed with Star Wars and she conceptualized a gorgeous Darth Vader-inspired cake. It was delicious, and he hasn't stopped talking about how cool his cake was, so we are happy parents! Such a delight to work with; we can't wait to work with The Baekehaus again! A huge thank you for a stunning cake!! I ordered this cake for Eid, a special holiday. Simone graciously agreed to write "Eid Mubarak" (translates to "happy Eid") on the cake board in Urdu, as I'm teaching my 3 yr old daughter Urdu and want her to see and learn Urdu script. The cake was simply the most beautiful cake I've ever seen, made with incredible patience and neat detail. We shared this cake with family and everyone loved it. The cake was strawberry flavor, with strawberry buttercream filling between the cake layers. It is beyond delicious, we are enjoying leftover cake these days as special dessert A huge thank you to The Bakehaus for the punctual contactless delivery, a scrumptious cake, and overall for being so kind and flexible with my special request for writing on the cakeboard in a different language. I will absolutely be putting in more orders for cakes in cookies after a wonderful first experience! We had already started cutting into the cake in the below picture, we couldn't wait to dig in! read more

Excellent German baked goods. We tried several things and all looked and tasted delicious. The owner was also very nice and helpful with explaining all that she had on display. I have had the rye bread from The Baekehaus most recently and was a wonderful compliment to the ham and mustard I had left over from the holidays. I absolutely love their Almond Braid and brought some down to my folks for Christmas. I also enjoy the Schwaben bread and will serve that with dinner or make sandwiches with it. Very well done. The nice thing about The Baekhaus is that they are frequently found at various farmer's markets around Leesburg, just look for the white tent and the German flag. The ladies will be happy to tend to your bread kneads. read more

We ordered a birthday cake for a family celebration based on the reviews here on Yelp and are so happy we did. From start to finish it was a wonderful transaction, through the website I reached out to the owner and requested more information. She responded within minutes and super helpful. It was incredibly convenient to order and pay online and they were kind enough to deliver the cake. We ordered a chocolate layer cake with peanut butter filling and chocolate icing, it was AMAZING. The best cake that I have ordered from anywhere to date! We will definitely order again for our next family celebration, my husband can't wait to pick out his cake! read more

Simone made the most beautiful custom cake for my mothers surprise 70th birthday party. Most places right now required scheduling more than a month out, but Simone at The Baekehaus didn't even flinch at the less than two-week timeline. I gave her the color scheme and she came back with six different wonderful ideas. She was awesome in being flexible with what i wanted and was very kind and responsive. I was absolutely blown away with how gorgeous the cake was (was even better than my wedding cake). That cake was the centerpiece of the party, and the best part was it tasted AMAZING!!! I cant recommend this baker enough! read more

My fiance and I decided that, in the midst of a pandemic, that we had no reason to wait till our October wedding date to marry. So, in a couple of weeks we threw together plans for a drive in wedding - including a nice dinner and wedding cake for us to share on our "First Forever". With dietary restrictions, we knew we would need to find just the right bakery to meet our needs. After a search on yelp, I found Simone at The Baekehaus and she was AMAZING!! Simone worked with me to find out our needs, offer flavor suggestions, ease of no-contact pick up and a way of paying the tab that took just a minute to complete online. We got the cake home & not only was it beautiful, but it tasted DELICIOUS! Simone worked her magic to make a gluten free cake that was not dry in any way. The almond flavoring was perfect and the buttercream and ganache were lovely accents to the cake itself. We will definitely be using Simone in the fall when our big wedding events roll around. I would encourage anyone looking for a special occasion cake, or those just looking for a tasty something sweet to seek out Simone & The Baekehaus! Thanks for helping to make our night so sweet! read more
