If you're looking for that Chinese food taste, this is it. It took us back to our childhood. I'm glad there's still a regular Chinese food out there. Place is small but feels very welcoming. Food tasted exactly how we expected.

Solid restaurant, the ingredients were fresh and ample, the dishes were well cooked and the service fine. We ate in but they clearly do a lot of take out too. My only concern was that the dishes were all on the bland side -- very mild seasoning. If you are OK with that then you enjoy the meal. Also, I don't think of chicken wings as a Chinees specialty, but one of our group ordered that and said they were delicious, and enough for lunch and dinner too.

I swear it's just one really long hand made noodle, so it's a bit hard to share, but it's a must-get. We also tried the Claypot noodle and it was good as well but a bit of an acquired taste. The restaurant is located inside Jusgo grocery store. The seating is quite limited so I wouldn't recommend it for large parties. And it's pretty mom and pop, so if that's your jam, go for it. Chairs are mismatched, drinking water is somewhat self-service in small cafeteria-style plastic cups, and tables are small. Like I said - mom and pop, and that's not a bad thing. It's just not exactly a place where you would have a nice business meeting. Service was ok - nothing to note. You pay at the cashier which is like 2 feet from where you ate. Yes, it's a small space. Overall - I love this place and will keep coming back.

My daughters are young so they really enjoy the Fried Rice and Chicken lo mein.also to mention when I don't have to add soy sauce to their food, it usually means that it's already well seasoned. My wife and me have found our favorite mix. We get the chicken wings which are cooked to perfection. They have a good crunch with the meat being juicy tender, in which I recommend squeezing a Lemon on each of the wings to really get an amazing bite. The Green beans are so good! Every time you get a bite of minced pork with a green bean is just mouth watering. We have the Braised beef dumping that are seasoned amazing and have a nice texture to it. And last is the pork soup dumpling that has a rich broth inside that is so warm and rich as you take a bite, along with the pork which is just so tender. Almost forgot about the passion fruit tea, they make it fresh and it's so good being not too sweet, yet having the passion fruit taste come through well. Miss Rene has been our waitress every time and she always makes us feel so welcomed. She is the one helped get us with her recommendations for this amazing feast. When you pickup your food, the sit down area is dark, and there isn't much of a waiting area. It looks to be run by two folks, the cook and the cashier. It is probably best to order over the app, as the one cashier is busy packing the food in the fancy packaging and dealing with the money transactions. Since it is only two people, it can be slow to get your food when it is busy. I waited an additional 20 mins from the projected time it was suppose to be done. As for the food, the miso ramen was packed in this fancy box. The box contained the soup separated from the noodles with a few side dishes. I believe this is the only vegi ramen they offer. It is nothing special. The broth is basically miso soup with soy sauce. (2 out of 5) The cold sesame noodles was better. It had more flavor. (4 out of 5) The Salt & Pepper Chicken was good (4.5 out of 5). I couldn't help eating it while in the car, as it smelled so good. The Braised Pork over rice was decent. It was cut up thick pork belly, braised in an Asian brown sauce. The flavoring was a little one sided. (3 out of 5). I'm giving this place an overall 3 stars because the food isn't something to rave about. Packaging and presentation were great, but tastes was more important to me.

The staff looked very presentable and were attentive, yet also gave us space to look over the menu and eat. Speaking of the menu, I really enjoyed checking items off of a paper menu, it felt very old-school. I was there with my parents, and we decided to get a couple entrees to split family-style. We got ban ban noodles, yibin noodles, pork and crab dumplings, a breadier kind of dumpling which I think had pork in it, a scallion pancake, a beef pancake roll, and chrysanthemum tea. All were delicious, no complaints. My favorites were definitely the bready meat dumpling, it just melted in your mouth, and the yibin noodles. I also really enjoyed the chrysanthemum tea; they delivered a big pot and several cups, and there was enough in the pot to fill each of our cups three or four times. While they seat and serve even large parties (I've visited with up to 12 people on a regular basis) with impressive speed, the quality of their food simply is not what it used to be. On this most recent visit I ordered a Pork Bahn Mi. The pork had absolute zero char, which I believe is integral to the sweet and savory char-grilled flavor promised in the menu description. As a result, the meat tasted as if it were stewed in an overcrowded pan leading to a rubbery texture. At a previous visit my baguette was also soaked and soggy, as if the pickled vegetables hadn't been drained before being added to the sandwich, then left to sit before service. I used to regularly order their pho, but have moved away from doing so as it tastes very average. On one hand their broth is consistent and does the job, especially if you are in a rush, but on the other hand is has no notable characteristics to speak of. Its aromatic blend doesn't particularly stand out and the broth doesn't have the deep flavor I would expect from Southern-style pho. The staff is always helpful and accommodating to the large parties I visit with. They always look busy, though not in a way that bothers me, and it's easy to see why when you consider the rapid speed that they serve food and clear tables. Overall, Pho Ben does the job for a quick bite of Vietnamese food. Even with larger parties, I've never had to wait longer than ~15 minutes for a table, and once seated, food typically arrives in ~10 minutes. However, due to its declining quality, it has fallen off my list of go-to spots in Sugar Land.
