If you have the opportunity to #treatyourself while visiting Paris, this flagship location provides the best end-to-end experience! We lined up about ~10 minutes before the store opened (10am local time) and there was already a short line. Upon opening, each group is paired with a SA. I was paired with Celine B who was literally the most patient, accommodating, and helpful SA that I've had the pleasure of working with. I had a wishlist of what I was interested in and she delivered all of the options! She also assisted my girlfriend and between us, we probably tried on ~30 different things. I didn't feel rushed during our experience at all. Stock was plentiful and there were a lot of classic colors available, as well as a good amount of seasonal and unique colors. The store itself is gorgeous and has tons of mirrors all across the showrooms. Security was also pleasant to us! We were offered water and juice during our experience. There's a good amount of seating areas around the showroom as well. Coco Chanel used to live right above this store! Chanel dreaming and the most magical experience a girl could ask for! Made an appointment online before arriving in France at the Iconic flagship Chanel store. I Was greeted quickly by a man checking in customers and was assigned to sales associate Garand. I had told my husband before shopping that if the sales associates were going to rush me that I would not like to purchase anything. Garand was above and beyond anything my daughter and I expected asking me questions regarding what I would like to experience and what I was looking for. She brought out many different kinds of choices to see what I liked and others I'd like to think about. Finally after reviewing many choices I picked one that was not in stock at this store but their new store next door. By permission from her manager, she was able to walk us next door to where they had more selections. Had to visit this iconic flagship store! This location has multiple floors & plenty of stock of ALL the bags you could ever want from Chanel. Came in here looking for a boy wallet on chain bag, and they had dozens of different styles of black WOC; caviar + gold hardware & of course, the boy WOC I was looking for! Actually, out of all of the options for black caviar WOC with gold hardware, I leaned towards literally all of the other WOC styles & not so much the boy WOC, which is hard to find in the US. The mini flap bag & 19 mini were also gorgeous! I am a lover of small crossbody bags but prefer caviar over lambskin, for sure because I throw my bags around a lot & find caviar leather to be heaps more durable. Our SA, Evelyn, was super helpful & helped us with WOC on the second floor, wallets, jewelry, and coco handles. First floor has more of the seasonal colors for bags, as well as shoes. Second floor entails the WOCs, flap bags, jewelry, sunglasses, etc. Not sure what the other floors have since we didn't take a gander but I'm sure those other floors must have some nice goodies! Of course I had to visit the iconic Chanel flagship store at 31 Rue Cambon. This store is huge with plenty of SAs. There is everything - bags, clothes, shoes, jewelry, perfumes. March 2023 Sunday afternoon I was able to walk in with no reservation. They put my name on a waiting list and texted me 20min later to let me know to come back to the store. There are plenty of luxury brands nearby so I had no problems doing a little "side shopping" as I waited for my turn at Chanel ;) Amongst all the locations I've visited worldwide, this store has some of the nicer SAs (for Chanel). My group was looking for a few items and I was surprised that the store did not have a few of them in stock. For instance they did not have the 2.55 mini or a grained black cardholder. I assumed the flagship store would have more variety, but it is not magic unfortunately. I did walk out with a very beautiful white purse. My SA showed me the famous Coco Chanel stairs where I took a few photos with my shopping bag. The shopping bag, by the way, is special! First, I apologized to the store manager who greeted me downstairs as well as the SA who got assigned to help me because I was coming in around closing time at 7 pm. I'll be the first to admit I'm probably the least typical Chanel customer in the existence of Chanel customers. My fashion sense if there is such a thing with me is really High Low, mix and match most of the time. My all time favorite store is a beloved thrift (I said thrift, not vintage, although I do love vintage as well) store that is now out of business and what I deem appropriate to invest larger amounts of my hard earned dollars on changes from time to time. I half wondered if wandering to the front door of Chanel in my amazon coat and Dr. Martens would grant me access, most women here appeared to have intentionally decked themselves out in all of their prized pieces. I could have put on my nicest jacket and draped myself in every designer item in my closet Hermes, Prada, Manolo Blahnik, Gucci, St. John but I'm not into any sort of charade, if your money is good, it's good is the way I see it. Everyone at Chanel was friendly, kind and helpful. I felt completely welcomed and I came here with a couple of items in mind that I was told by customer service were not available anywhere in the US when I inquired. After my research I had a strong feeling that when shopping here I'd need to know there would be a large chance they wouldn't have the exact items I had screen shots from their website of and I'd be shown alternatives similar to what I was looking for. That is exactly what happened, but I'm still very pleased with my purchase. Of course, I saw the infamous stairs and while everyone gets their photo taken on them I was here solo and didn't feel comfy asking for such a thing in the moment. I'm not certain I'll ever purchase Chanel from any other location than 31 Rue Cambon, I think I'm a bit of a stickler about things like that - I want Hermes and Chanel from Paris, Gucci from Italy. I live in LA and I can't say I see myself ever having any interest in shopping these brands here, unless they have the exact item I want. I took myself for a cocktail at Bar Hemingway immediately following my big girl purchase and I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm already half contemplating saving up for another item on my next visit ;) Wonderful experience, and wonderful team here. The shopping Gods blessed me today. I got dropped off in the morning around 11 and walked in without waiting at all. There were a lot of SA's ready to help. Our girl was very sweet, we started with shoes and then moved onto bags. I am just a little bit jaded, and I am very familiar with the Rodeo Drive Inventory, so I was not wowed by the majority. There wasn't a lot that I haven't already seen. I personally am a really quick shopper so I don't like that you have to wait for your SA to be guided throughout the store. Or maybe they just need to hire assistants to grab from backstock so people can be efficiently shown things on the floor without having to wait for sizes. I didn't leave empty-handed. Overall, the experience was good! I would've loved to check out all the other locations, but I was in a time crunch. But next trip! Not sure why there are any bad reviews for this place. I surprised my wife, showed up in black Mercedes Uber, probably a good idea IMHO. Door person opened the front door. Caveat, I purposely picked the least busy time on a weekday, otherwise you need to make an appointment. We then were assigned a sales man - yes man, but he knew his Chanel. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her time, while the kids and I drank some complimentary beverages. She ended up selecting two purses and they prepared the VAT tax refund paperwork. I dropped about $12,500 Euros and got a refund of $1500 Euros, still a lot less than US Standards. And their selection and color options are much greater than any USA store. Note: DO NOT touch merchandise without a sales person, not sure why some foreigners don't follow rules even when told that upon entry. Cute store and lots of selection, surprisingly. It takes forever to get a sales associate, however. You go in, add your name to the queue, then come back when you get a text. After the text, you sit around for an hour waiting for the SA. Even checking out, it took nearly 30 minutes to fill out the documentation and finalize payment. Operationally, it's quite slow and you need to ask for water/coffee as it is not offered to you like Hermes/LV. Highly recommend making an appointment to avoid waiting! I found an appointment about a month and half before and there was only two times available. I planned to stop in Paris during my honeymoon in Italy, to treat myself to my first chanel purse. The all the SAs were extremely friendly (much different than my experiences in the US where you're barely acknowledged). Candy was AMAZING. She was so so patient with me and kind. She brought out a bunch of different pieces and when I couldn't decide she made me feel at ease. She gave some suggestions but didn't push me one way or another. This is the store I was looking forward to, the most. I'm so happy that it didn't disappoint. We did have to queue in line (only about 30 minutes as we got there in the morning), but it went by quickly (and most of the line was inside). We were assigned a sales associate and she was very helpful and friendly. Not pushy and let us have our space, but was right there when we needed her. I came in wanting a specific bag, but they didn't have any in stock, and I was getting ready to leave, when another one caught my eye. I ended up getting that and some jewelry, and she said she would call me the rest of the days that I was visiting to see if they were getting any of the bags in the upcoming shipments. I own seven or so Gucci purses and wallets and one Louis Vuitton. I told myself I'd reserve my Chanel purchase for my first trip to Paris. That trip happened in 2018. On my last day in Paris, my husband and I took an Uber over to the flagship Chanel store. I was excited! I was prepared to be serviced by snooty sales people, but they proved me wrong. Everyone I encountered was polite and helpful. We were asked if we wanted water or something else to drink, and once we chose water, small Evian bottles were brought out for us. I asked to see a couple of different purses, and I got assigned a male SA. I cant recall his name, but I will update the review if my receipt has his name. My SA brought out several bags for me, and I ended up choosing the largest sized black camera bag. I also purchased a pair of navy and black espadrilles. I was in the store for almost an hour. When it's time to make the purchase, you are taken to a small private room to complete the purchase. Since European prices include tax, or VAT, you can get the VAT reimbursed if you live outside the EU. We chose the credit card reimbursement because the exchange rate is better. The lady who completed the purchase filled out all the paperwork for us. My SA packaged up my items with care, and I didn't want to mess up the packages! My husband and I visited this infamous Chanel store at 31 Rue Cambon during our trip to Paris and I was extremely pleased with our experience. Upon arriving I was surprised to not see a queue outside the door, but immediately found that they were letting customers wait inside. (What a relief as we visited during EU's heatwave!) I was greeted by a friendly SA who asked what I was looking for and then she notified us that the wait would be an hour and half or so. We were then directed upstairs to look around while we waited. We weren't given any waitlist number, however apparently the SAs on the specific floors you visit is taking note of who's waiting. The flagship store is enormous and beautiful, full of ready-to-wear, bags, accessories and more. After some time, we were greeted by our lovely SA, Davy. He was super kind and patient as I looked through a few bags before deciding on my purchase. He even gave us suggestions on points of interests as it was our first time in Paris! Once I've decided on my purchase, we were directed downstairs for my item to be wrapped and then proceeded to payment. The entire process was surprisingly seamless and pleasant, I really appreciated the wonderful customer service we had at this flagship store. Lastly, the VAT process was also quick and easy, you take your paperwork to the kiosk at the airport (your last port of travel) for processing. I had a great experience at 31 Rue Cambon! My fiance and I came on a Saturday in the morning around 11am (an hour after they open). The store was not full, but not empty either, which I expected. Someone greeted us right away to help us get an SA. My SA, Maiva (spelling?) was super sweet. I told her what I wanted (any small beige purse) and she pulled out everything she could think of. My fiance and I also enjoyed champagne and coffee! I ended up with a purchase I will cherish forever. I also took pictures with the famous staircase (a DREAM!). Since it was raining that day, Maiva even gave me a reusable bag to cover my cherished white bag from the rain! The VAT process is pretty simple. However, I forgot my passport that day and they wouldn't accept a picture, so we were told we would have to return with my passport to get the tax refund forms. I came a few hours later and OMG, it was so crowded. We waited a while just to talk to the lady holding the tax forms and handling the billing. I was thankful that we came early to buy the purse, because otherwise I feel like we wouldn't have gotten such a personalized experience. So pro tip: come early!! read more

The OG location with the infamous CoCo stairs to her apt. This is also the flagship where you will receive the lovely shopping bag with the infamous "Rue de Cambon" address on it! The box is also tag! All the rules from my other Chanel store review remains: - queue up properly for help - lady with clipboard holds your number - SA will help you through out the entire process - be specific but also flexible with colors and design - 1 bag per passport (only in Paris...) Although, the uniqueness of the OG is wonderful; my friends and I still feel we had a much more warmer & nicer experience at the other Chanel store. I had a wonderful time at this location. Who wouldn't want to come to the flagship store and buy a Chanel bag? For our 10th Anniversary my husband took us to Paris to buy a bag. I bought a bag I've been eyeing back in Los Angeles for 4 years; a classic jumbo flap bag. The sales associate Pia kept telling me that these were all the options in caviar and I had to keep asking her if there were any other options. Finally when I settled on the classic jumbo I asked her if they had one in the back but she said she pulled it out from the back just now. Which she didn't. She pulled it off the shelf. I opened my bag after the hassle of going through customs and VAT tax at the airport and it has two scratches across the front!!! I'm livid! Ahhhh Chanel, the ELITEST of the ELITE (similar to an ELITE yelper? haha)!! Took a quick flight to stop by the HQ as always when I am invited to the show. As the shoppers shop shop shop away on the ground floor, we went up the famous mirror stairway to the 3rd floor, chillaxing in Mademoiselle Coco Chanel's apartment having lunch and tea. House of Chanel did a wonderful job keeping this place exactly like it before when Mademoiselle herself used to be working and receiving private guests here. I saw where Chanel and Lagerfeld got their inspirations from ~ elements from oriental coromandel screens, chandeliers, wall mirrors - somehow all translated into the shape of #5 bottles, lion motif, CC logo etc. There was the fireplace where Mademoiselle herself standing in front of and posing for the very first #5 ad. Actually, this was my 5th or 6th time visiting. I still discovered something new. Of course, nothing beats hanging out with the executives and the models to see the latest couture collection and private archive of Chanel. From 31 rue Cambon to 737 Madison to 400 Rodeo, Chanel, you have done a superb job taking care of me from head to toe. What girl doesn't want to feel sexy when walking into a corporate meeting with the crème de la crème of fashion power suit and ink that business deal, right?? Who comes to Paris and doesn't explore this iconic fashion boutique...where there is a spacious and intricately designed showroom with all of the latest & greatest shades, clothing, fragrances, brooches, earrings, handbags, shoes and more. Mirrors for quality control, iPads for browsing inventory, reps readily available to assist. Staff is even gorgeous. Male security dressed in suits (similar to Secret Service agents) and extremely easy on the eyes. Female sales reps pristine; white gloves worn to handle merchandise without tainting. My purchase was completed with patience, precision and pleasantries. Water was catered as I sat in the private area for checkout while my item was being gift wrapped to perfection. The bag was delivered to me a short while later beautifully donned with a ribbon & bow, lightly scented with a Chanel fragrance. As you exit the store take a gander to your left and you'll notice a spiral staircase which leads to what was Chanel's second floor apartment. And Karl's third floor workspace. The original Chanel! Coco Chanel lived in the apartment above the store. Though someone occupies the space today, you can go up a portion of the elegant staircase in the store that leads to the apartment. I came to the store to check out where it all began but also to look for a wallet that would go with my black Classic Medium Flap with silver hardware. I loved the wallets my sales associate brought me however, they only had them in gold. She checked the system for me and told me that unfortunately in all of Europe and Asia none of their stores carry black caviar wallets with silver hardware, only gold! Of course I wanted to come back home with a Chanel item because being a French product it is cheaper in France and also because of the VAT refund. None the less, my sales associate was very friendly and didn't put any sales pressure on me. I did probably look a little bummy due to Euro standards (I was wearing my Luluemon gear which is normal in California but not overseas and I had my anti-theft purse instead). The other associates were friendly as well offering us beverages while I was waiting and letting me take a pic on those beloved stairs. I would definitely recommend this location when in Paris. Went with my wife - the set-up here is absolutely insane. You have to queue on multiple lines, Disney World-style, to even TALK to someone here. And you can't browse unsupervised. My wife knew exactly the shoes she wanted - just needed to size them and buy. But they wouldn't even confirm if they had them. In case you didn't know: 1. This is the flagship store. The only location to offer a white box with their address on it. 2. Buying in France saves roughly 20 to 30%, about the cost of duty and sales taxes. I won't lie. This Chanel shopping experience is the bomb. I already own more Chanel purses than I care to admit before the Paris trip, so I told myself not to buy anymore. Sureeeeee... When I exited Musée de l'Orangerie, I saw someone carrying a Chanel shopping bag. I thought, "Hey, it must be nearby. Why not check it out." *Danger, Danger* Found it on the GPS easily, and when you enter, you're greeted by a hostess. They will ask what you're interested in and guide you to wait for a salesperson (there will always be a wait). They offer you a beverage while you wait and while you shop. When the salesperson met me, I told her my interest and saw a variety of purses - similar sizes, colors of my choice, and so on and so forth. I ended up choosing a purse and a wallet. They pulled new ones from the back and showed them to me before boxing them. The extra bonus point is that by the time we were done, it was nearly dark. She offered me this super size all black bag to put the Chanel shopping bag into to reduce unwanted attention. Way to go! Tips: A. You MUST bring your passport to the store for the tax free papers. B. Requesting credit to your credit card (vs. cash) gains you a few percentage points more. Once you decide CC vs. cash refund, you can't change your mind at the airport. C. Go ultra-extra early to the airport. You are competing with loads of tour group customers. I was super lucky with reasonable lines. When I was done, the line grew to what looks like over 100 people deep! D. If you don't want to risk the tax-free line, shop at the airport!! I wish I could give this original flagship store 10 stars! FIRST THING FIRST- tips if you are making a purchase: 1)We are saving almost 30% due to lower price and tax refund here, comparing to US pricing with sales tax. NOTE that the listed price already includes the tax, they do not add tax on top of it like we do it in US. 2)Remember when you pay with a credit card, select Euro and not USD - it's about 3% higher if you do so due to exchange rate premium. Most of the credit cards nowadays do not charge transaction fees anyways. 3)BRING YOUR PASSPORT and do not just have a copy of it in your phone and make sure that your passport doesn't expire until 2020 - if you do so, they will let you pay the amount LESS the 13% VAT tax at checkout. If you do not have both conditions satisfied, you have to pay the full amount with tax and wait for tax refund to your credit card after you file it at the airport when you leave. They take care of all the paperwork for you during check out. Here is our actual experience: I'm not too into luxury leather goods these days and definitely not an emotional shopper. But I walked out with one purse and planned to make a second trip in a couple days. My sister would like a boy Chanel bag and We went in with her with no intention for purchase. From the person at the door, to our sales person and even security guards, they all reflect what the brand represents - elegance and class. We walked in on a Tuesday early evening, shortly before they close at 7:00pm. We were quickly introduced to our sales person Olivier who is absolutely a darling and best personal shopper you could get. We were offered all kinds of beverages (champagne, cappuccino, sparking water etc) to start the "consultation" process. My sister knew what she wanted but asked to see many different styles before deciding to go back to what she originally loved. Olivier was very patient, efficient and detail oriented. He was not pushy at all but skillfully presented everything that he thought we might be interested. We (my sister mostly, ha!) were quite picky with some small things and he took care all of the requests we had. I ended up falling in love with a purse that I saw and my sweet husband encouraged me to get it and bought the purse for me despite that I had told him multiple times at home that I was not interested in getting anything - I see it as an investment at this point given that Chanel purses historically go up in value. See how women rationalize their purchases? Olivier walked us out of the door since they already closed the store but before that, he offered to take picture for my sister at the staircase. I wanted to leave sooner so that he could close his shift and leave work after a long day, but he was very pleasant and didn't rush us at all. We have visited LV a couple days ago and made a purchase - in terms of customer experience, they have a lot to catch on. If I could give 0 I would. Most horrible and upsetting experience. They claimed to take my name when I walked in, I even typed it into the iPad when I arrived. They told me I just wait, and they will come to us. 30 mins later, they said they don't have my name and would put me at the end of list, and just to wait aimlessly longer. 45 mins later, they said they still don't have my name and to wait another hour. They finally helped me and I wasted 1.5 hours of my life for a pair of sunglasses. Don't come here and be treated like garbage. read more

What a dream! Just come in to see the famous staircase! As far as shopping experience went, Jun was the one to help me and she was awesome. She took her time showing me everything I was interested in, was super patient, and made sure that the overall experience of buying my first Chanel bag was flawless. The store is gorgeous but of course gets very crowded and busy. We got there around 2pm and it was pretty packed. If i could do anything differently, I would've went at opening just for a better/less busy experience experience. read more
