He's a great talker and salesman but the work was substandard. My neighbors were having pools built at the same time and I could see some of the differences quite clearly like the piping. Others we found out the hard way when they didn't work. The first time we fired up the pool lights they fried. We had another pool contractor come out and he said the electrical box wiring was a mess. The transformer was installed improperly and the entire LED light and wiring were burned up. Heck, our landscaper was pointing out a variety of the issues and fixed a variety of them out of the kindness of their heart. They also had to help him get his gas inspection permit with the city approved. So, we spent more time and money getting the lights repaired. When I told him we needed new lights he had the nerve to ask me if I would split the cost with him!! I came across that multiple times where Chris would find opportunities to seek more money like replacing the fence that they tore down to get their equipment in the yard, certain title choices or finishes. Be very, very detailed with what's included in the bid/estimate and GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING! When I say very, I mean VERY detailed. Select your materials in advance, take pictures of what you want, etc. Do whatever you need to do to have a record of what you're requesting. Then print the final estimate. Ours was not a PDF version but something he could edit as we progressed. At one point I was ready to throw him off the job and pursue it legally. After all was said and done, it still wasn't said and done. When the pool was filled and fired up, they did not add salt to the pool. Thankfully that was an easy fix. Down the road, I reached out to Pentair who he acquired the pool equipment from. Turns out that he never submitted the receipts, invoices or anything for all of the pool equipment to be warrantied. Did he leave that info with us and tell us how to ensure it was all covered? LOL! Heck no! When I explained the situation and asked him to complete the warranty form, he ghosted me. He also said he had closed down Sonny Pools. Now that I see he's still operating, I want everyone to know who you're dealing with, particularly for a newly constructed pool. Had he helped me through that or stayed out of the business, I wouldn't be writing this review today DESPITE all the BS he put us through. But he chose his response (or lack thereof) and I'm choosing mine. The price was good, but I would gladly pay more to get a true professional. Last but not least, be sure to agree to a detailed timeline for installment payments. It felt like he was always asking for a payment. I felt like it was front loaded based on the work completed. And DO NOT make the final payment until you are fully satisfied and have independently verified every aspect of your pool's operations is understood and functional...right down to the equipment warranty. Once he gets that final payment it's going to be a fight to get to him to respond adequately like others have said. My saving grace was a basic construction background, attention to details, getting many things in writing (text, email, contract, etc.) and not backing down. He might be fine with some renovation work but I wouldn't trust his team with a new installation.

We asked our previous service to fix the noisy suction sounds coming from the top step when the pop ups were actuated by adjusting the water level. He stated it was the pop up, not the H2O level. After replacing them, noise still occurred. We asked again to increase the level and were told he had already done it, yet the noise still existed.... We also had an insane amount of wasps landing on our pool. So much so that I couldn't take my kids out to swim. .... And then we met Paul. What a gem! Not only did Paul fix the noisy suction noise on his first day, he also taught my husband how to do it! Super simple and such a BIG difference!! Now at night while enjoying the weather and some quite time, we're not spooked to near death in the calm of the night by random loud water cyclones. Another fabulous difference we've noticed is that there are a heck of a lot less wasps and we can swim at any time of day now!!!
