I am writing this to warn the community about the severe lack of professionalism and basic standards I experienced at this facility.
Although the staff was friendly, the physical facility itself is shockingly filthy and poorly maintained. During a visit, staff decided to change out the air filters in the return air duct right in the middle of a clinical area. The filters were so heavily choked with grime that a massive amount of dust and debris fell directly onto the floor and into the air while patients were present. This was wildly unprofessional and unsanitary, particularly in a healthcare environment where patients may have asthma or respiratory vulnerabilities.
The carpeting also looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years, not even with a simple vacuum. Even one of the pieces of equipment needed a new battery. Equipment should be properly maintained or removed from use until it is.
The care here felt like an assembly-line operation that relied too heavily on generic routines rather than individualized rehabilitation. I was largely supervised from afar while going through exercises, with much of the routine essentially self-directed and the facility supplying the equipment needed to perform it.
Despite asking for additional home-care guidance, I was not provided with a clear home exercise protocol or specific written instructions explaining what to do between appointments, how frequently exercises should be performed, or how they should be progressed. I was left largely relying on my own memory of exercises performed at the facility.
I was also extremely dissatisfied with how neurological symptoms and significant changes in pain were addressed. I repeatedly reported numbness and tingling but did not receive the level of assessment, explanation, or guidance I needed regarding those symptoms. Some of the exercises I was performing substantially aggravated my symptoms, yet I was left without adequate guidance about how to modify my routine or manage those changes at home.
During one appointment, I reported a particularly sharp and sensitive area of pain that had developed while I was going through rehabilitation. Rather than receiving a meaningful explanation, assessment, or plan for what I should do next, the session ended without the safety guidance or home instructions I needed.
That experience caused me to lose confidence in the care I was receiving and ultimately terminate treatment at this facility.
Physical therapy should involve more than providing equipment and supervising exercises. I went there for professional assessment, instruction, progression, correction, and guidance about what I should be doing between appointments. I did not receive enough of that here.
Between my experience with the clinical care and the condition of the facility, I would not return and cannot recommend this facility to others. read more
