I would not do business with this company ever again. They advertise an "affordable price" , but…read moretheir charges are twice the average at ~$340 with tax for four re-keys: 2 d.k and 2 d.b and two keys. In this line of business it seems exploitative to hide your costs until they are on site. Furthermore, he charges a 3.5% cc fee unless you leave him a review...while he waits. I did not agree to this strong arm strategy and ultimately he waived the cc fee. Point is, ask up front for costs and look elsewhere unless you're in a dire pinch.

I called in advance asking for a quote and was quoted $80-120 depending on the lock. Thereafter,…read morethe technician said he will be there in 30 minutes and when he wasn't there I had to be the one to reach out and called 20 minutes after the fact to see where they were and they said they were five minutes away. Then, at the five minute mark they called me again saying they took a wrong turn and would be at my location in seven minutes which then turned to ten. I waited over an hour and once the technician finally got the lock off he said it would be $120. Then when i handed him the cash he said it was also $29 for the service fee and I said you didn't tell me this, you quoted $80-$120 which I gave you and he practically harassed me for the $29 service fee but honestly it was him just swindling me and he got his instant karma because he couldn't get the lock off his drill, or got stuck! Never doing business with them again and it was sad that they came as a recommendation

I'm not sure how to review these folks. My locks work and the process was a bit odd but I'm really…read moremad because they charged me more than double the quoted price. That's $200 instead of $94. And hmm, I could swear that there were negative reviews of them before (that seem to have mysteriously disappeared). There sure are a lot of questionable good reviews, though, and that should tell you something. I called for a quote and was kinda hustled into an appointment. I know, I know... but the quote was in line with what the handyman said the job would cost so ok, fine. On Friday morning, the first employee took the locks apart, realized he didn't have the part to finish the job and put the locks back together. He said that this part normally would cost $30 more but that he would do it for the quoted price on Monday. Ok, that happens. But when I went to leave, the handle fell apart in my hands. Many, many hours later, they sent another employee to fix the handle who was actually able to do the job that the first guy couldn't. Great, right? Problem is, I was charged more than twice the quoted price and was told I should take it up with the office but that I had to pay it. I said that HE should call the office (surely he had some way to reach them, even at 10:00pm on a Friday--and yes, I had been stuck at home all day) but he refused. I pointed out that the first guy hadn't mentioned anything more than a potential $30 difference. Nope, I had to cough up the $200. (Or, rather, my boyfriend did, just to get the guy to leave.) So I contacted the office and couldn't get any phone call or email back. I wasn't nearly as adamant as I could have been (I felt uncomfortable getting aggressive with a pushy, sketchy locksmith company that knows where I live.) but I definitely made my problems known and they chose to ignore me. Boo!

I tried every key shop I could find and kept being told that my car was old and the key wasn't hi-tech enough for them to replace. Even a dealership wanted a fortune to get it made by the manufacturer with a long wait for delivery. Then I spotted X Locksmith in the halls of the Watertown Mall, just across from the Registry. I was not expecting a positive answer, especially since the "shop" isn't even a building. It's a couple of counters and a display case. They service all kinds of sexy newer cars, but they did not for a second hesitate to help with my "old lady" car. I recently lost one of my keys and decided to get a couple of replacements. George is still terrific. No problem that it's an older car. In less than an hour he cut and programmed two new keys and even threw in an extra manual key so I would have a "backup." Great guy, great service, competitive prices. I would use them again anytime.
