It was my anniversary. And I wanted some place I could go and enjoy my time with her. We found this place on Yelp. And I loved the fact we did. It is located on a small waterway. With boats coming and going. They can even dock right at the restaurant too. I ordered a brisket sandwich. And it was the best I have ever eaten. I'm already trying to figure out when I can come back again.

Now the empty nesters my wife and I can take off and eat wherever the heck we please without having getting agreement from the family. The season is escaping us we have yet to have a meal at the chagrin tavern. It was surprisingly not busy so we were able to score a table right on the patio coming up on sunset. Our lovely server is named Emma and I want to give her 17 Stars because she is an amazing server and they're very lucky to have her. Emma was quick with the drinks and she did mention that they may or may not be out of the French dip which I get is a standard anytime a restaurant offers it. She did confirm that they were able to serve the dip and offered up the lobster tater tots which were interesting but I did not eat all of them because I wanted to enjoy them later for snack so I did take a couple home. The only reason for four out of five stars is that the French dip was exceptionally stringy and fatty and I felt they could have done a much better job of trimming up the meat prior to serving. My wife really enjoyed her fish tacos but she is very averse to onions and was not aware that it came loaded with pico which of course is half onions. But our lovely server Emma was quick with the refill and we learned a little bit about her life and how much she really loves serving at the tavern. I did have my wife's 50th birthday party here a few years ago but it's a tad out of the way from our house so we don't come here that often. However the slow season is upon us and it is actually a very enjoyable establishment we will be back

Shrimp and Grits

I visited this place last weekend after a weekend of celebrating my friend's birthday in the Cleveland area. We were seated by the water which was a nice view and were able to put our orders in fairly quickly and it came out in a reasonable amount of time. I got the shrimp and grits and it was pretty good and very filling! I will say the prices for their sides were kind of confusing because the menu said one thing and the service staff said another. Additionally, two of my friends got the same meal but one person got obviously more than the other. When we thought they were going to make it right, the person that we thought was gonna help came back empty handed with an excuse as to why it couldn't be fixed. Overall I had a good experience but one of my friends did not.

There is a patty melt under all those delicious onion rings lol! Both were perfect!

I had purchased a $30 coupon for $15 through CLIPP. Went last evening and was very happy with the ambiance, service and food! Stacey was our waitress who was fantastic, friendly, and attentive. The restaurant was open to the river with a band getting ready for the evening entertainment. I decided on the patty melt with onion rings, and my friend went with the French dip. Both were absolutely delicious! My patty melt was cooked perfect and very tasty. The French dip was "real" beef and also very flavorful. The mound of yummy and crispy onion rings was huge and very much appreciated. Will definitely be going back to try their weekend prime rib!!!

Service is very slow food prices way too high for what you ordered bartenders are very rude Chris always drinking

Server trainee dumped scolding hot cup of marinera sauce on my son. Causing 2nd degree burns in multiple areas. How hot does sauce have to be to immediately cause skin to bubble up and slough away as I was wiping sauce off? Very unimpressed by manager/owner's response to situation. After going back and forth with him he voided our check after we had already paid.

My friends and I dined at Chagrin Tavern 7/29! Our awesome server was Holly she was amazing. Holly was very attentive and made sure our food came out very fast and hot. She also made many accommodations for us. We started out inside and wanted outside seating and she made it happen. Then the sun was intense she moved us inside without any hesitation. Again Holly was amazing. The food was very good. We did appetizers and entrees. The nachos and calamari were delicious the mozzarella sticks were as well. The bar was clean and full because of the band. The bathrooms could stand more attention all the stall didn't have tissue. I told a server and next restroom trip was much better.

At Witz End - View from the bar stools

At witz end is a good place to relax, dine, and watch live music…read more I ordered a burger and fries. The burger tasted fresh and "healthy", like the onion and lettuce came right from the grocery store. The burger was better than a typical bar burger. The fries are thick, with standard bar taste. I finished the entire meal in one sitting. The beer is mostly domestic, with a couple of popular crafts on tap. I had the Goose Island 312 IPA and Great Lakes Conway's Irish Ale. Both were solid, but I would have liked some more local options. My main bartender had a technique of getting another drink about halfway through my current glass, so I always had something on deck. Both bartenders dressed well, behaved professionally, and were attentive. The environment is clean and relaxed, with a stage big enough to accommodate a four-piece band. I came to see Grunge DNA, an alternative rock cover band, and they sounded good in the space. The music was not overpowering, but loud enough to feel like a rock concert. There is also a touchtunes jukebox when live music is not scheduled. The clientele were mostly middle-age plus, except for the bartenders. I did not see any rowdy behavior. Some customers were dancing to the music, and had good knowledge of 90s rock. I had a good time, and would go back to see another band.

Nice place usually, despite being a Dive Bar. Good prices. Only 3 problems:…read more 1) I get cold sores any time I have a shot there. I've watched them, they rarely wash the glasses before passing them to someone else. Health Code Violation. 2) I overheard the bartenders talking. They have a keg of rotten beer they give people they don't like or they want to leave. Health Code AND Liquor Control Violation. 3) I've had my Credit Card "Skimmed" 3 times while I was there. Once again, I watched. Guy sits at the bar by the register and takes pictures of the cards with his phone. I don't think the bartender is an accomplice, but I'm not sure. Get your act together! Before someone reports you! I don't want to see my favorite bar go down for stupid reasons!

I've never had a basted egg…read more Never even heard of it. Somewhere in between sunny side up and poached; a delectable yolk sauce. Surprise! 2 huge pancakes, real blueberries. Apparently cinnamon roll pancakes are always on deck, thank goodness. They remind me of being at my grandparents annual anniversary gathering, at the Crescent Beach Hotel, a memorable brunch to be sure. It coincided with Easter so there was always a terrifying bunny afoot. They had this similar tasting pastry that I looked forward to with a Christmas Eve-type fervor. Soothing to find that flavor again, memories of always over eating and never regretting it. A real down-home, 'forty years at Swagelok' kind of place, families knowing families. I'm not from Ohio but Kleifeld's made me feel like I was in all the best ways. I brought my own maple syrup, no offense, just a breakfast requirement of mine. You will leave this place with a box or leave overfed, stuffed with twinkles in your eyes. The jukeboxes on the counter aren't functional, but we all already knew this. It's the sentiment. This time, my third time eating here, working on this review. Should I get pancakes again? The tantalizing basted egg? It's your birthday breakfast, a Monday, I'm on vacation, a wedding in NYC this weekend. My very close aunt died this morning, but I will not tell you until later, in bed, the safety of comfort. Just like this diner, the safety of the cinnamon roll pancake shared amongst friends and quintessential diner coffee. No TV's, no music, no distractions from love and sustenance. You touch my leg, I want to break down and weep about losing Deb, but I refuse to jar your special day. Our breakfast needn't a reminder that this is all our fate, succumbing to disease and old age before we finish the things we started. Take care to enjoy every bite.

Wait staff were friendly and inviting. have to thank our server for recommending the cinnamon bun pancake which was to die for. Reasonable priced and a great meal was had by all.
