When you pull up it looks like a dive from the 1960's or a small Soviet bloc, not many windows and just a square little building, but you come inside and the people are inviting and friendly and the food is out of this world. The bartender was friendly and provided great service. They have a small draft beer menu. Guinness and Smithwicks are two expected options on the menu. I went with a beer I had not tried, the North Peak Vanilla Porter. It was cold and easy to drink, with a smooth flavor. For my dinner I ordered the BLT Wrap. The sandwich included French Fries. My order quickly arrived. The candied bacon was delicious. The garlic mayo was also tasty, though it was a little on the heavy side. Overall I enjoyed my food and experience at Craggy's Bagland. I really don't know this place very well under it's newer name, The Hideaway. In my underage years,…read moreit was called Whiskey River and then The Anchor. I remember it most as The Anchor. There was a huge airbrushed lifesize Popeye near the front door. Very dark and dank, the ultimate dive bar. This place is within walking distance of my parents house and my friends and I were here all of the time - especially after we realized they would never card us. (I'm not sure if they still engage in this practice - obviously they've changed hands in the past 12 years). I have many fond memories of this bar. I once woke up on the dirty bathroom floor after one too many shots of tequila - thanks to the DeMarco's donuts guy. Too bad the old owner started blowing lines of OxyContin.

The one bartender with blonde super curly hair was wearing a stripper outfit and twerking with her barely there mini skirt and easy to see thong on for all the men at the bar. Not to mention the two handfuls of shots she did with other patrons only added to her belligerent behavior. The other bartender was clearly picking up the slack but was also drinking heavily. Both were very pleasant with us but not very attentive. Food was good. Witnessed multiple people coming to the bar and waiting to be served and leaving without being helped after several minutes. The bar was not that busy and had many open seats mind you. I will mention, I put myself through school being a bartender and I know that letting loose with regulars helped build lasting friendships but I could never imagine getting that intoxicated while at work. I'm hoping that the owners of this bar aren't loosing their asses on giving away merchandise. If I was the owner, I would literally fire everyone but the cook. if you want a freak show....
