Fish sandwich and onion rings
Marcus E.

Fun college pub with house-made craft brews and solid kitchen This College pub is right on the Case Western Reserve University campus in a building that looks like a run of the mill early 1900's admin building. Weekday afternoon in the summertime; school's out so attendance was sparse. Open physical plant with lots of natural light, lots of high-tops inside with outside seating as well. The craft beers are made in house with a couple of guest taps. Our convenience sample of a couple of them found them to be solid renditions of APA, Pilsner and IPA. Falafel Nuggets are fun: one of our group loved them but another found them cumin-heavy enough to be a dealbreaker. The jalepeno edge brings just enough heat. Fish sandwich is excellent. This is a piece of battered fish and it is crackling crisp on the edges. This sandwich, served with pickles and shredded lettuce, is on a roll that is one of the closest I have had to Po-boy rolls outside of New Orleans. The onion rings are fantastic. Even though they are somewhat thicker cut, these breaded rings are crisp and delicious. For the most part, the onion stays with the ring. Would gladly get these rings again. Our group found the Barbecue pork quesadilla to be "very good." The barbecue sauce is on the sweeter side, and we think it has some cinnamon notes. We would happily return for bar-food bites and beverages: highly recommended.

Vegetarian wings

Ive been here a couple times and never have a consistent take on their service. My most recent visit it felt like they were fully staffed but only 1 person was doing everything and it wasn't timely. Also they were doing only their late night menu (fryer food) at 7pm on a Friday. Plastic cups and paper plates were an odd thing to encounter but not the large takeaway. The beer is good for the prices & the vegetarian wings and great!

Loaded fries

They are a little pricy but so far the food I've had has been decent. The loaded fries are my favorite and probably my main reason for returning. The bartender is super friendly and attentive. He did his best to get me in and out quickly. The inside is spacious and felt pretty clean. If you're in the area and want a quick lunch this is a solid choice.

What an interesting place - in the middle of CWRU campus, it's truly the perfect spot for college campus. Casual bar with good beers and eats. We came on a Friday in the summer so there were not very many people because classes weren't in session. These vegan wings are hands down the best I've ever had. Absolutely incredible. The falafel was good, but a little bit done for me. Still tasty. I wished they had more variety in their beer listing, but also wondering if part of that had to do with school not being in session.

How is this burger "small"? Solid choice.

I came here with my family after we went to the Botanical Gardens and we were in the mood for a burger. To start, it's not visible as a free standing place when your driving around trying to find it because its inside one of the campus buildings. Park and take a walk. The interior is fun, lots of seating and a bar. Two of us got burgers and the third member got the chicken quesadilla. The burger was solid, no muss - no fuss. I would say the size is average - I wouldn't have been able to finish anything bigger, definitely disagree that it's "small." The quesadilla was delicious. We also grabbed a beer each and they were also solid. Our server was helpful and the girl manning the bar was happy to answer our questions and give suggestions. Sitting there and seeing the students made me feel nostalgic in a good way. Great place to check out!

Stopped in for dinner and a beer. Parking is a little rough since the bar is inside one of the campus buildings. The bar is large with plenty of seating. There is also outside seating if the weather is nice. They have plenty of beer options and food choices. The prices are pretty moderate. I had an IPA which was good plus the hangover burger which was also good. The bartender was great and definitely wasn't slow in any of my requests. Definitely a good place to check out if you are in the area.

Lori and Chef Patrick took care of my anniversary dinner this weekend and DID NOT disappoint…read more Olive and Twist's service was hands-down the best dining experience we've had in a LONG time- possibly ever! Living in a "new norm", we've almost forgotten what it's like to be able to have a carefree dining experience, and O&T was able to bring back that true fine dining we've been missing. Patrick's food presentation was absolutely gorgeous, and dinner in the comfort of our own backyard was peaceful and relaxing. A new, fun way to dine without the hassle of dealing with crowds or awkward COVID precautions that change your dining experience. It was comforting (and interesting!) to see our food prepped and cooked safely, right before our eyes- something you usually don't get to see when you dine out! The perfect details (personalized menus, bistro table, glassware, and linens set up for us) proved quality and outstanding service that didn't go unnoticed! I will surely book Olive and Twist again. In fact- We've thought of just about every excuse possible to book them for any future dinner occasions!

Eight (!) years ago my friend recommended her favorite place - The Fairmount. She emphasized that…read morethe ambiance and cocktails are something to experience. Eight years worth of Fairmount moments later, this review is well overdue. AMBIANCE: The ambiance allows you to slow down and enjoy your company. The restaurant is dim lit, has fireplaces, and loungey atmosphere. It somehow feels warm and I heard a lot of people refer to it as a second home (people are always so friendly here!). There is ample space - three bars, main dining space, and huge outdoor oasis bar. Nestled in Cedar Fairmount neighborhood, you'll also be able to enjoy historic neighborhood. There are seating arrangements if you're craving company or want to enjoy your date. Seating options include couches by the fireplace, tables, and high tops. Fairmount is delightful during every season. During the summer you can enjoy the bar and patio. In the winter you can dine at the igloos. I prefer all seasons here. FOOD/DRINKS: The menu at Fairmount is impressive and has exciting seasonal/weekly additions. You'll never get bored. The cocktails here are refined, very boozy, and very well crafted. The food is seriously delicious, and consistent every single time. I've been impressed with every dish. The dishes and drinks frequently follow the seasons. During my latest visit I enjoyed Butter Pecan Warm Cider with bourbon ($12, so bold and boozy, tastes like fall). I also ordered Fig Trouble Little China ($15, a more rich version of Old Fashioned, so delicious). I also tasted Short Rib & Risotto for the very first time ($28, such a delicious dish, every bite was just amazing). My favorites? Ah, so hard! I'll go with the Fairmount Burger! It's angus beef burger with bacon-fig chutney. It's so delicious! I can't even be serious about meat at the other burger places, this is easily the best burger in the city. My seasonal favorite? Kevin McCallister seasonal drink that resembles coquito or eggnog. The drink is topped with rice paper that includes the design of Kevin from Home Alone. It's such a fun tradition! I look forward to this drink all year and always tell the world about it! SERVICE: The service is excellent. I haven't been anywhere where service is right on point every single time. Everyone is nice - the owner, hosts, and waitstaff. You truly feel seen and like the most important guest. I've visited previously while on dates and frequently dine here solo, always had the most pleasant service. EVENTS: Many people book events here for their non-profits or companies. As far as individual events, Fairmount hosts a fun NYE party every year! PARKING: Onsite parking lot is available at the back of the building. You can enter through the front doors on Cedar or right through the parking lot door. There are numerous reasons why I love the Fairmount. I consider it to be the best dining experience in the Cedar Fairmount neighborhood of Cleveland Heights. I also love how the owner Jake is very engaged in the community and is incredibly friendly with the surrounding business owners. I'll choose this place again and again for calming ambiance, crafted cocktails, and delicious food. To many more years of Fairmount and at Fairmount!

So many great restaurants in Little Italy that it's hard to walk in to a random establishment and not have a great meal. But this little bar tucked away at the corner right before heading up Mayfield hill is a hidden gem. It's not a big place. It's not fancy. It's a "bar". But I promise you... they have GREAT food here! There's always a crowd at the actual bar during the few times I've gone, but for as small as the dining area with tables is, I'm a bit surprised as to why it isn't full of diners more often. Perhaps because they've labeled themselves a "bar" and maybe most passerby's think you can only drink there. So this is my one little way of getting the word out: EAT @ BORGATA!!! You won't be disappointed... Especially if you try the blackened chicken Alfredo! Perfectly seasoned, super tender chicken, creamy Alfredo sauce, with the 3 pieces of the most perfect garlic toast - it's carb heaven on a plate!!! DO IT!! One of the greater things about this establishment is that if you savor and enjoy your meal and drinks patiently enough and not rush out, you'll likely meet the chef as he goes from table to table asking how you are enjoying your meal. Twice I've had a nice conversation with Chef Armun, this time a little extended as we got to know more about each other. One of my friends happen to mention that it was my birthday. Jerk! (something I don't really like to announce). Then something happened when we were done with our meal and were on our way out. Chef Armun stopped us and said "Can you give me 5 minutes? You can't leave yet." I'm confused, but said "oooohkay, sure." A few minutes passes by and comes out with a slice of the most decadent cake with a candle on it and the whole place started singing happy birthday! For sure an occasion I will always remember. And it's things like this that endear places and people near your heart... where and when you truly feel treated as friend or family by a small, local business. The shrimp on the salad (3 for $4) are huge! Yum. The chef came out when I got my food and let me know he labeled everything on the outside which was a thoughtful and helpful gesture! Not too terribly expensive either.

So I decided to walk the extra 2 blocks and see how it was. I didn't want to go to some over priced cocktail place full of tourists. Which was great because I hate drinking with a younger crowd.(things always seem to get a bit roudy) The other thing I noticed was I was the only white person there. Personally this doesnt bother me one bit so I walked straight to the bar after wiping off my glasses (it was raining during my walk there) and ordered a drink. I sat down and within 5 minutes, I was chatting with some of the other patrons. Chatting went to laughing which lead to probably one of the best nights I've had in Cleveland so far.
