I've tried Molly Tea, Chahalo, Ben Gong Tea, and Chagee now. The boya jasmine tea is insanely below all of their competitors and it's not even close sadly. The teas at the other places easily have more jasmine flavor while chagee tastes watery. Every time I come here expecting something different and it literally gets worse. The only decent thing is the frappe looking drink cause it actually has flavor. It looks like diabetes though. Overall I wouldn't recommend or reconsider coming back here at all. Visited Chagee with my partner as we were both interested in the hype of Chagee Tea. Some PROs is that the shop itself is very clean, floral vibe, and more like a tea lounge more than anything. Very modern like their store name. Since it was our first time, we signed up for the 15% off code stated. This is definitely popular amongst those who are brand focused as their to go bags and cups have that "Toile de Jouy" design that people associate with Dior. By the time we were there in the evening, all the baked goods were sold out, but they had other goods on sale while you're waiting in line to take a look at, like candles, etc. I know this is a newer trend with a lot of Chinese franchises (you see this with Auntea Jenny, Molly Tea, etc), but the first time I saw it was at Chagee and it was those trio flute thin straws that make you sip slower and to truly enjoy the tea. The cashier answered all my questions and I eventually ordered the medium Amber Tea Latte at regular sweetness (which is more like a 30%). Drinks take a minute to make and the tea tasted fresh and fragrant. I thought the milk would overpower the tea and it would just taste like I was drinking milk but the tea blended so well. The best way to describe this place is, in my opinion, is Starbucks, but just for tea. But with higher quality ingredients and a much more limited menu. But, with everything on their menu you can get it hot, cold, with sweetener, without, etc. There are tons of options you can get with the small variety of teas they have. It's also quite small so people will spill out in to the area just outside so it can be tough to tell where the line ends and where people just hanging out begins. But beyond that, the restaurant is very clean, inviting, and full of natural light. I just wish there were more seats as I prefer to enjoy my tea sitting down, not on the go. Prices are decent. You're paying a little more than you would at other shops, but you're also getting a much higher quality product so I think it is very justifiable. The employee was extremely rude--no greeting, no acknowledgment. I started to say my order, and he immediately cut me off just to ask for my name. On top of that, he still got my order wrong. I asked for whole milk, less ice, regular sugar, and it wasn't made correctly. I also noticed him being rude to my friend, so it wasn't just a one-time thing. Honestly, if you don't enjoy being there, why work in customer service? As for the drinks, I'd say CHAGEE falls below its competitors. If you want better tea, I'd recommend Molly Tea instead. Their Boy's Jasmine Tea tasted either like pure milk or had almost no flavor at all, and it wasn't even properly iced. Definitely not worth the wait or the money. My order was supposedly going to become ready in 118 minutes. The awkward long wait was horrific. I got to watch people have meltdowns. Drinks were piled up on the to-go shelf and in-person order pickup area. Some didn't know their online orders were ready on the shelf and apparently waited for nearly 2hrs. They stormed out angry. I can't blame them. My drinks became available after nearly an hour wait on standby. The caramel tea latte was way too sweet and much too melted by the time I received it. My peach oolong tea latte tasted diluted and nothing to write home about. The pure chaotic pickup process and the very underwhelming drink quality makes me not want to return ever again. I still don't understand what the hype is all about at Chagee, but I can confidently say now.....it's not worth the wait. Finally got around to trying Chagee now that the lines have died down since their opening last year. I had high expectations, as the wait has been over an hour the past few times I've tried to come! I got the peach oolong tea latte, which the employee recommended. It was decent for the first few sips, but not so much after that. I think it was too watery / not flavorful enough? Chagee is located in the century city mall and I've been looking forward to trying it out ever since the grand opening. Upon arriving, you'll immediately notice how extravagant the space looks. They have a ton of merch you can buy like a like a chagee shawl, branded chagee take away cups, etc. I spent almost 7 dollars on a regular size jasmine latte. I thought the customer service was pretty good considering I didn't like the sweetness level of my drink and they immediately were willing to make me another one no questions asked. That being said, the drink itself was OK. I think it could've been much better. Flavors are very light here. It tasted as if it was diluted and was very milky so I didn't even want to finish the whole thing. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. read more
