I love this place because it has been the neighborhood hangout for the better part of 20 years. I don't think I can say that I've had a bad meal there though some may not have risen to the 'mind-blown' level. I have a particular love of their Chicken Quesadilla with the fresh house-made pico and guacamole. It came off the menu at one point and I almost cried at the table after having talked it up incessantly to my coworkers that I coaxed there for lunch one day a couple years ago. They said they had everything in the kitchen but the tortillas for some reason and I said, 'No problem! I'll bring my own tortillas!'. Clearly joking. We didn't go back until recently when I saw Chicken Quesadillas on the online menu!! Woo-hoo! It is now 3 individual quesadillas instead of one large but they are as delicious as I remember but do get other things on the menu too. I love their salmon BLT. The half-price burgers on Mondays (I think?) are fantastic. My husband usually gets whatever beef entrée they'll cook rare for him and leaves very happy. I've also recently discovered the delight of the take-away Margarita. No one needs to know that's not lemonade I'm sipping in the lunchroom at work! Shhhh! Had a wonderful experience at brunch today. Chadwicks has several tables outside and under umbrellas. We wanted to be seated indoors, and I thought they did a great job of social distancing. We sat up upstairs with four other 2-person parties. You don't even have to pass another party when getting to the stairs. I was really impressed with the menu and the prices. There is a good variety of classic favorites, and a few interesting combinations for the foodies in your groups. I appreciate brunch menus that include breakfast and lunch options - and there's plenty of both! Most items range between $12-$16 dollars, and there's $5 mimosas and bloody Mary's. She remembers your drink. And she gives honest recommendations about food and specials. The burgers, fried chicken sandwich or salad, and the french dip are my go to meals. Found a picnic table in the park and went to Chadwicks (50 meters away) to grab a to-go lunch for the family (first time diners). Hostess was welcoming and provided to go menus and directed me to the bar. Attempted to order a to go lunch and was coldly denied service with the reasoning that kids meals are for dine-in only. There are several reasons why it is illogical to deny to-go service, ongoing pandemic not withstanding. Outdoor seating was at capacity and we had three small children ready to eat at a picnic table in the park only steps away from the restaurant. Obviously I cannot comment on the food, but based on the inhospitable service, we will not be returning. It's called the "hospitality industry" for a reason. If this is a common policy in the area and I am off base, I'm happy to remove this review, but we are patrons of many nearby establishments and have not encountered this before. read more

We were SO lucky our Uber driver changed our minds about where to go for brunch! Chadwicks is near the water in a great location and has such a great vibe. We had the great pleasure of meeting Jordan, our bartender. Jordan is the bartender/host you wish you always had at any of your favorite restaurants. She is gracious, kind, fun and a really GOOD bartender! She welcomed us in and took excellent care of us. She even created new cocktails for us based on our favorite flavors. We've been eating on this location for almost 2 years and today it was really disappointing! I ordered Po Boy Shrimp and the hoagie that was provided was 3 inches long and 1 inch wide. So I thought that the product was changed. When another customer ordered the same menu item it was entirely different (the regular cut and size). So discretely I requested Karen, the bartender to check and look at the comparison of the Po Boy and the response was "it's how it was plated it's the same" I couldn't believe the response! I politely noted just remove my meal. We go to a restaurant to enjoy food, ambiance, service, we expect to pay and if there's something wrong before even start eating we politely address the issue hoping a sense of customer service will be extended and offer option of resolution. I've been here twice and both times the food has been solid American fare. The first time I had a salmon salad for lunch that was tasty, fresh and filling. The second time I opted for the fried chicken sandwich with fries. Their honey mustard is SO good. The chicken sandwich was fried like a chicfila style - not too much breading. My date had the crab cake sandwich with sweet potato fries, which I had to steal a few of. I had a mimosa with brunch and it was strong and tasty. There is a good selection of beers on tap. Unfortunately, there is minimal outdoor seating. The inside is very large and has a slightly upscale brew pub vibe to it. The prices are a bit stiff but worth it. The bench seating is not the most comfortable. The service although a bit slow (but it was very busy) was friendly. Truthfully one of the worst dining experiences i've ever has. I came here after deciding between a few different restaurants in the area and this was the only one without a wait; a red flag I should've noticed. The hosts were all sitting and chatting when we arrived but sat us promptly. The server dropped off waters and didn't say hello or have any actual introductory conversation. When I asked him what was in the "Blue Crab Dip" besides Blue Crab he said, "i think bleu cheese, that's why it says blue." It was obvious the crab dip wasn't going to contain crab and bleu cheese but I didn't question further because it was obvious he didn't know. Servers should know their product and be able to know what's on their limited menu. We order 2 appetizers and 2 entrees. My partner asked for an extra patty and we were told that they don't have an option in the system for an extra patty so he was going to put it under a different item for an extra $7-9. Weird but okay. The first items that come out are the entrees, minus the extra patty; which we are told we would have to wait for. I had the jambalaya and it was terrible. The chicken - every single piece - was rubbery and disgusting , as if it was a week past the best buy date and/or was previously frozen. The rice felt dry and the number of huge onion slices was appalling. My partner had nothing good to say about his food: the burger, mac and cheese, fries, and wings. His only comments were that they tasted like bland basic versions of the food. After he was 2/3 done with his burger, the second patty came out and he politely declined. The appetizers come ~5mins after the entrees were dropped and we are told it's because my partner wanted the wings crispy... yeah okay. The Blue Crab Dip had absolutely no bleu cheese to no surprise but didn't tasted good and was rather questionable. I sent it back and got the fried green tomatoes, which are also a dish you should go without. Do not come here unless you want your appetizers after your entrees, flavorless old food, and poor service. It doesn't matter how nice a server is, they should know what's in the dishes on the menu and how to course things properly. read more

If this review was purely on their dinner, it certainty wouldn't be a 5-star though. The 5-star purely comes from their bang on, absolutely delicious brunch ! The amount of food and champagne we ordered totaled to less than what we would spend for DC brunch! It was great. Their champagne deal and juices meant we could mix our own proportions of mimosas. Went with a group, two ordered the burgers and they said they were good. I ordered the chili, which tasted fine, not the best not the worst....but so did my daughter. She ordered the Caesar salad as well and was HORRIBLY sick with food poisoning for two days. All of it, vomiting and the other...I urged her to call them to tell them so nobody else would have it. So let me start by saying it's very cute in here, Catelyn was great BUT after my friend and I finished eating and was about to pay I saw 2 mice come from the back near their POS system. So essentially the kitchen when I tell you I couldn't have gotten out of there quick enough. They should definitely close until those are found or figure out where they came from. Great brunch option down by the water in Old Town, but the service won't hit it out of the park for you. No wait at 11 on a Saturday morning and we got seen by a waitress right away. Ordered an iced coffee with skim milk and ended up getting served a on-tap cold brew and had to take half and half because they didn't have any milk. If the drink didn't end up costing $5, I would've moved on but to not get the heads up ahead of time that they don't do a plain iced coffee was a little unpleasant. Ordered the eggs Florentine and hoped to sub out the potatoes for another side but when I asked the waitress if it came with anything, she said no so I didn't get a chance to sub it. Staff was very friendly and pretty attentive. I quite enjoyed the crab cakes, which came with cole slaw and fries. The blue crap dip appetizer was fantastic. My friends enjoyed their meals as well, but they didn't think it as good as I did. The one huge disappointment was the clam chowder... after seeing it on the menu boasting it's the same recipe "for 40 years", my suggestion would be to find a new recipe. It said it was creamy.
