I came here yesterday with a small group of friends and her baby to celebrate two birthdays. Sam was our server and he was absolutely fantastic. He was attentive to table, helped clear a bulky box that we brought as a birthday gift and stored it away for us until we finished our experience, offered to take photos for us (and he did a great job making sure the lighting was just right), and truly made our birthday tea party celebration a memorable one. As for the food, the food was fantastic, my group especially liked the egg sandwich and chicken cranberry sandwich. I had one member of my party that was Vegan, and Sam was great at making sure that the Vegetarian Panini would be made Vegan for my friend. The plate, tea pots, tiered stands, and interior decor were absolutely beautiful. I liked that the tea room had a modern and clean aesthetic along with touches of florals. Also, the tea pots are adorable. Our favorite tea was the phoenix tea which had a floral oolong taste. There is street parking available or a parking structure off of Raymond that is very affordable ($1 for the first two hours). Overall, my friends and I had a wonderful experience celebrating some birthdays here and we can credit Sam for such a delightful experience. read more

The service here was AMAZING! Everyone was so sweet from the moment we stepped in until we left. I ordered the Chado Tea Experience and my husband ordered a pot of the peach & ginger tea with the zebra bread. It was all delicious and tasted fresh. I had a reservation for my birthday. It was my first visit, and it started off great with the best customer service representative Samuel. He was very attentive and helped even when some more people showed up than expected. The ambiance was beautiful, decorated so nicely for the holidays. We've been to another tea room on Green Street before, but this visit stood out--especially since my sister is visiting from out of town and we wanted something special. The setting gives you a old European feeling. All in all the place is amazing and I would recommend people to come by for a relaxing time over tea and to be able to decompress. Everyone inside was having a great time and really set a precedent for how the experience was going to be like. My sister and I shared the afternoon tea, which included 4 half sandwiches, a scone with jelly and homemade cream, and a macaroon and a cookie. As well as a nice pot of tea. It came to a well and fair price of $55 in total which, considering what it came with, more than made up for it. The food itself was very tasty, I'd say my favorite was the salmon sandwich. Additionally, the scone was to die for as, their homemade cream really made it delicious. The tea was also super good. I don't usually drink tea but the tea I had here has genuinely made me consider drinking tea more often. We decided on drinking the wine inspired tea and we both agreed it was incredibly refreshing and delicious! Additionally, the customer service here was quick and everyone was incredibly friendly! I never saw a single employee with a frown on their face and looked like they actually wanted to be here! Our server made sure to occasionally check in on us and make sure we were okay and if we needed anything. Always a great thing to see, especially in this setting. He also provided us with complementary tea after, which my sister and I both greatly appreciated (especially cause it was also really good). It was my little girl's birthday and she picked to have high tea so we got a same day reservation for the Chado tea. The decor is super cute. When it comes to high tea, the decor, tea and service are more important than the food, IMO. We had Sam as our waiter and he was super nice and made our little girl's feel special on her birthday. We got the Bridgeton tea which has a lot of food. The kids version was actually pretty appropriate which was replaced with peanut butter, Nutella, ham and cheese sandwiches. I've been going to Chado for years, anytime I visit LA. The food and tea is always so delicious and the atmosphere is calm and welcoming. Special shoutout to server Sam who has helped me on multiple visits and always goes above and beyond to make sure I have a great tea service! Today December 12,2025 I brought my mom for tea for her birthday. When I say this experience was beyond anything I imagined. It took me back to when I had tea parties with my cousins and mom back at home when we'd have tea parties , this brought a taste of my childhood , home & peace. I'm a high tea enthusiast. Rarely in the US does one find a tea shop where the welcome feels this genuine. Our waiter, Sam, was warm enthusiastic and generous with excellent recommendations. We had the Christmas tea and chose the fresh tasting, excellent carrot-ginger soup. The tea selection diverse and wide. Friendly service and it was easy to make a reservation for a large party. As a heads up, they require a deposit for 8 people or more. We arrived earlier than the rest of our party and the tea room was more than accommodating. They checked up on us many times to make sure we're doing okay. My reservation was at 5PM, but they had plenty of open tables on a Friday evening and we were seated immediately. We spent a solid 2 hours catching up and eating. Definitely a lovely place to enjoy with the girls. We both ordered the Bridgerton Afternoon Tea which comes with a free gift at the end for $65 per person. I almost forgot about the gift until the staff gave us two round boxes with a teacup and saucer inside. If you're not looking to take home a teacup and saucer, the standard menu afternoon tea time is $20 cheaper. The scones were made fresh and tasted delicious with the preserves. My friend had strawberry preserves and I had apricot or peach preserves. The balance of the sweet scones and cakes and savory sandwiches was perfect. The hibiscus tea that I chose was a little too tart for my liking, but the passionfruit tea my friend picked out was light and aromatic. Despite how small and adorable everything looked, my friend and I were both full. The staff was incredibly sweet as well. They were attentive and kindly offered to take our photos without us asking. If it's your first time doing high tea, this could be a good option! We got the chado afternoon tea service, which comes with a three tier rack and your choice of tea. The tea pot is super cute! The overall interior decorations have a vintage vibe as well. Food was okay - mediocre at best. The sandwiches are not toasted and are very basic. The scone was pretty dense and good. It also comes with a cookie and macaron - nothing special. Service was not the most attentive. When I walked in, no one greeted and same with other parties that came in later. After we sat down, they gave us the menu with no explanation and we had to wave someone down to take the order. No service throughout until the very end, the server kept asking us if we are doing okay, which made it sound like we are being rushed. There are paid parking lots nearby as well as street parking. Overall, great place to hang out if it's your first time doing high tea. Otherwise, I recommend looking for more local spots with more authentic tea and better customer service experience! read more

It was our first time so we had a lot of questions but our waiter did a great job They have a lot of cool tea options so if you're a tea drinker this place is for you. They have a platter option thing where you pay either $27 or $37 per person and get tea with a bunch of snacks and food along with it. Very affordable and a lot of food for the price. Service: Friendly and accommodating! Taste: The teas, sandwiches, and desserts were all very aesthetically pleasing and tasted quite good. Although the tea flavors didn't always match the profile / description, all of them did taste different and it was nice being able to sample various flavors. The amount of food provided was filling, and we got to take home leftovers. It was definitely on the pricey side at $65 per person, which I don't necessarily think was worth nearly double the price of the standard celebration afternoon tea service at $36.95 considering the main differences are a few more finger sandwiches, 3 more tea options, and 1 small teacup set for the mother. The servers were awesome and worked very hard to be pleasant to guests in a very full and busy restaurant. They're probably the secret of the popularity of this place. The place had a huge party that didn't leave for 3 hours and continued to loiter, holding conversations in the middle of the aisles. This was probably challenging for the staff. Had a solid experience trying this tea spot for a friend's Birthday. It was cute and a nice experience, but there were some areas of improvement. The first thing I will say is we wish that we would have gotten a run down of the menu since most of us had not been here before we had a hard time ordering and figuring it out. (Since there were some preset specials) The other issue was that some of the tea cups we got were dirty and we had to request new ones. Lastly the location is so small so we sat outside so I feel like I missed out on the cute decor on the inside, but can return again for that. The service was pretty quick overall and staff were nice so no complaints with them. They brought my friend a Birthday Ice cream dessert so that was very kind. And the tea and food was good, but nothing blew me away. It was a cute experience, but be prepared to spend upwards of $40 per person. Truth be told I don't even know where to start of for this review other then to express the deep gratitude I have for what a lovely establishment this is. On 12/16/24 around 1pm I called asking if I can make a reservation for 5 people, but with one being a little birthday girl that was turning 4 and this birthday girl's special guest who was Elsa from the Disney movie Frozen. You'd be surprised to know that I called other tea places prior to finding this location and they didn't accept the idea of me bringing Elsa for what ever reasonings, BUT as soon as I mentioned this to the lovely gentleman (whom I wish I asked for his name) he was so sweet, so comprehensive, and so positive. He said of course I can have Elsa join and didn't once hesitate on anything when I was asking questions, etc. 12/17/24 came and it's the day of our small celebration and as soon as we walked into the establishment the staff was so happy so positive and to our surprised from all the other tables our reserved table, the owner or manager ( im not to sure but gosh he's an amazing human being ) he went out of his way and time to get this gorgeous blue table cover that matched our Elsa princess theme for the day. Oh so magical! Since prior to us coming we did eat pizza since our 4 year old birthday girl wanted to eat that and we all joined her and unfortunately we didn't have an appetite to consume the food they have here but nevertheless it looked delicious since I saw other costumers ordering food, I look forward to return and to try their delicious menu. However ! The tea ! We ordered three different blends, one being the lavender earl grey, another being English breakfast, and lastly a coconut vanilla tea and oh my god they were just so delicious I think we will be craving them often !
