I came here on a whim as me and my mom were in the area. We came on a Sunday at around noon. We did not have reservations as it was last minute but the owner was so nice and she was able to squeeze us in. We were so lucky they were able to accommodate us so last minute. So I definitely recommend getting a reservation on the weekend. I'm so glad we were able to experience such a cozy and charming place! My expectations were exceeded and here's why: Atmosphere: Walking in you feel like you're stepping into a cute cottage with chandeliers, vintage chairs, and it's definitely giving Bridgerton vibes. We were only able to see the inside but I was told they have a garden outside. It is a bit smaller on the inside but maybe it's because there were so many people. Very quaint but so cute and the decor was so intentional. There was even a chandelier with tiny tea cups on it and a wall full of tea. Food: The food was so fresh! The scones were warm and tasted like they were just baked. They do have vegetarian options which was great because not a lot of places have that. The sandwiches were so good! They threw in a few extra as a courtesy. The fruit was refreshing and the desserts were rich! There was a variety of selection for desserts. Tea: WOW BEST TEA OF MY LIFE. The tea here was out of this world! I've never had tea like this in my entire life. I wish I was exaggerating. I'm going to be dreaming about this tea. I tried the Peach Rooibos and it was the best tea I've ever had. They even have a huge machine for the tea it was impressive. My mom tried the Vanilla Coconut and she said it delicious! And she's not too much of a tea person but she kept serving herself 3-4 times and said she wanted to take the tea home with her. Service: 10000/10 stars. The owner is such a sweet and classy woman who made us feel so welcome. It was like talking to someone you've known for ages. She made so much effort to talk to us and serve us tea. She even offered to take photos for us without us asking. Super sweet of her! And the other lovely woman serving us was delightful. She kept asking if everything was good or alright. She asked if we were all happy with everything. Despite being so busy with a bachelorette and baby shower party going on they came to check on us multiple times. Tucked away in a quiet little street is The T room, a truly enchanting, beautifully decorated little cottage that feels like stepping into a grandmother's house. The entire small space is infused with warmth and was perfumed by the aroma of brewing leaves. Adding to its charm, it was decorated with adorable Christmas decorations adorning every nook. Margo, the personable proprietor, channels tge inspiration of her mother who ran her own teahouse back in Russia. Margo has run this little teahouse almost entirely on her own for 20 years. The menu has a large variation of teas, including my favorite butterscotch--a rich buttery tea with notes of vanilla. Each tea is served in vintage porcelain cups. Our delicate tea sandwiches along with our honey served in a unique sparkling glass container were perfection. I also loved that the portions were very generous. I was joined by my friend Roxy, who was dressed so beautifully and is always so sweet and considerate and wonderful company, which made the entire afternoon a wonderful memorable experience. We had the best time at the T room. If you are a Harry Potter fan it's like Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop come to life. The cook/waitress was extremely nice to us and made us feel right at home. Even with no reservation and the place packed with customers we were seated immediately on their adorable back patio. The tea shop had no problem doing substitutions, so even though the pre-set tea comes with chicken sandwiches they let us sub them out for olive ones. The decore is so cute and there are so many details to constantly look at. I tried the strawberry vanilla tea and my friend tried the pomegranate and they were both so delicious and flavorful. The food was way more filling than we expected and we had to take a box with the food to go, as so much was given. I really liked the strawberry jam on the scones and the lemon cake as it was especially moist and tasty. My rating is strictly based on making a reservation. I called and left a message and got a call back from a not very nice lady who sounded like she was in a hurry. She tells me they're booked on the day I requested and I should pick another day then tells me they do have availability but that their establishment is cash only because taking a credit card takes too much time. This is 2026 why not offer Apple Pay, that's faster than cash. Anyway I guess I understand certain places are cash only but then proceeds to rudely say that I need to make my mind up because she has people waiting and then hung up on me. We celebrated a birthday here and they brought out a complimentary cake slice and sang with us. There's one tea service menu at a great price of $32 including 6 tea sandwiches and so much fresh fruit. The Lingonberry chicken sandwich had a generous amount of chicken. Note that they provide one pot of tea per two guests and no refills. When we asked they gave us hot water. They have a good selection of teas. The highlight of the sweet treats is the Tres Leches caramel cake. I would get that alone. The tiers are tower over you as you dine, enhancing the encompassing experience. We sat oin the back, a cozy covered outside area that accommodates 3 or 4 groups. Was cute but next time would like to sit inside, which is more formal looking. And there will be a next time! Parking is free in a large public lot across the street. Sunday there's a Farmers' Market, too. It was my first time in Montrose, a small town like Ojai. I made a reservation for Monday mid-morning which was nice because it wasn't too busy. The tea room was very nicely decorated with vintage tea sets, appropriate music, beautifully set seats and tables. The owner, Margo, has run the restaurant for 20years and she's very personable. She was seating ppl, getting their tea orders, cooking and serving ppl on her own. A little while longer she had an assistant but I was amazed she was doing it all herself. We had the masala chai and black currant tea and both were very good. My family enjoyed the sandwiches, scones and desserts. The amount of food was more than enough that we had leftovers. Was surprised to see how packed the place was on a Tuesday afternoon. Had the Chaco afternoon tea,, and celebration afternoon tea service. The soup was phenomenal. Ambient was calming. The staff were very attentive and I enjoyed my visit there. Our host. The "homemade" sandwiches were not beautiful (they looked sloppy); everything was heavily smothered with mayo, it was hard to taste anything but. Aside from the fresh baked scone that was served hot right out of the oven, the rest of the food was not of High Tea quality. The Desserts: I was expecting little pastries but instead there were pieces (literally what looked like torn pieces from store bought bunt cakes), picture Von's pudding cakes, unappealing, again sloppy. I wanted to leave a review because this was such a lovely experience. I booked and set up the reservation for our group of 10 two weeks prior to the date needed. The owner Margo always answered my phone calls which I really appreciated. After visiting I can honestly see why they might not always be available during the day because when you get there you realize they are truly focused on taking care of the guests in front of them. From the moment we arrived the whole vibe was gentle welcoming and kind. They did not even know it was a birthday celebration until we mentioned it when we got there but everything still felt so special. We had outdoor seating and every little detail was thought of. Even the sun was perfectly blocked so we could sit comfortably. The service was wonderful. The ladies helping serve the tea were so attentive and gracious. You could tell they really care about creating a beautiful experience for their guests. The presentation of everything was just beautiful. The food was very cute delicious and there was a great assortment. We chose the Deluxe option and it was honestly a great value because we all left very full and the tea just kept coming. The tea itself was fantastic. There were also so many cute photo opportunities which made it even more fun for our group. It is such a lovely spot for a Saturday afternoon or evening if you want to sit down have tea and enjoy good company. It is also perfect if you want to celebrate a birthday or do something special with loved ones. Just lovely all around. I especially want to give a big shout out to Margo. I would have given them zero stars If I could due to deaf discrimination. I wanted to introduce my deaf friend to Victoria tea room for the first time. I found The T Room- I was so excited for my friend to try it. My friend had to use Sorenson (Sorenson Video Relay Service ASL interpreter (VRS) is designed for deaf, hard-of-hearing, and speech-disabled individuals to communicate in real-time using American Sign Language.) to call The T Room; however, they hung up on her twice and told her not to call them ever again. I was super pissed and I called them to give them a piece of my mind telling them they discriminated deaf. They begged me to call back in 30 minutes because they were so busy with the big party but claimed they thought Sorenson was scam (my friend told me she did tell them that she is deaf) then hung on me. I knew their excuse was BS so I decided not to call them back because I am so disgusted by how they treat us. Their tea menu is extensive but not overwhelming; their options consist of black teas, signature blends, green tea blends, and fruit teas. The descriptions are super helpful when decided what to order. The assortment of finger sandwiches, cakes, scones, and fruit was wonderful! So many times they either skimp on quality or quantity of the snacks at Tea places, but not at the T Room! We both left VERY full and very satisfied! They were also kind enough to bring me a second pot of tea when I asked to switch my order (I hadn't realized they already started brewing it and didn't mean to be needy) but they were so kind and didn't charge me extra for making the switch! Came over here again a couple weeks ago and Margo never disappoints. I called in and prayed that they had some room last minute and luckily they did. I was very happy since you usually need to call in advance to eat over here. The food here is always delicious and is always made with the lots of love. Not good for you but lower overhead for her. Ambiance is country tea house floral decor. Presentation of food is nice but food is ordinary. My party didn't eat much so I knew they were not impressed. No clotted cream here. We came on a Tuesday at 11am and it was hard to get her to add hot water for us. Attended a bridal shower there. My daughter has an electric wheelchair that is bulky. We arrived and no employees offered to make room for her but instead the woman who I think is the owner instead came over after we tried to make a spot ourself and did not introduce herself or offer help, she just rudely told us to take a bag off the back of the chair and just stared at my daughter and complained. She did not even address us. Another employee, who I think is her daughter came over and problem solved and made room for us, but by then my daughter felt like a problem and not wanted there. Came here on a Saturday late morning with one of my best friend. Reservation was easy to make, my friend called in advance to book it for us. Also, be sure to bring cash as this establishment is cash only. We got the set that is $32 per person. Parking was easy to find. There was metered parking or 3 hour parking lot that had plenty of parking. We were 10 minutes late to our reservation but the hostess Ophelia was able to take us. She was so sweet & provided my party with a complimentary dessert since it was my friend's birthday. This spot is definitely a good place to host a bridal shower, baby shower and/or birthday parties. I ordered the oolong Jasmine tea & my friend got the birthday fruit tea. Both were delicious & not strong at all. Our server also gave us complimentary refill of a different tea later on towards the end of the experience. The ambiance was so quaint! Literally felt I was transported back in time to the late 1800's era, having high tea with Queen Elizabeth. I would definitely recommend dressing up for a high tea attire to set the mood. We love this place here in our community. Everything is so well presented. The ambiance is perfect for a lovely high tea bunch. I've been here several times with friends, but this time I brought all three grandchildren. What a pleasure it was today. They loved it and because they were so well behaved, Margot brought them each a small gift. Margot is a true hostess. She makes sure we enjoyed ourselves and provides just the right amount of attention we need. I highly recommend The T-House. It is beautifully decorated and well maintained. It's the absolute perfect place for a small or large group to enjoy high tea. I highly recommend this little gem of a place, you won't be disappointed. Margot loved my kids and they loved her. This was the best high tea experience I've encountered so far. (And I've tried several other places before, including in London.) For starters, the warm welcome from the host/owner set the tone. As did the fine china, clean linen, and fancy place settings. We each had the opportunity to choose our tea that came in an entire teapot all to ourselves. The children's menu offers fresh hot chocolate what was rich and delicious. When we received our four tiers of deliciousness, we each had a chicken salad, tuna salad, and egg salad tea sandwiches. My kiddo got P&B as an option and he loved all the mini tea sandwiches. Next tier, the homemade biscuits with hand-whipped clotted cream. Our host told us she wakes up at 4AM every morning to bake these from scratch. And you can definitely taste the hard work and buttery amazingness in each bite. Of course, the dessert tier was one of our all-time favorites with a decadent carrot cake and milk & honey cake that was phenomenal. To top it all off, we indulged in organic, fresh seasonal fruits, which were strawberries, sweet grapes, and juicy oranges. There was not rush and we took our time grazing and sipping her finely selected teas. One note: If you want to take a seat in this dining room, don't just pop-in or expect to get a reservation because you think it's a good time to go or bug her on the phone about your questions. This is a one-lady owned operation and everything is done elegantly. Also, her most busiest times is when she's making and serving her guests. So if you know what it's like to host parties, never bug the host when everyone's demanding her attention. Make a call and set up reservations earlier in the morning closer to 9:45AM or after the lunch rush times so she can politely take your reservation. After that, she's quite busy attending to those who matter--her guests at the tables. I look forward to coming back here and I'm happy to spread the word on our dining experience. Because as LA becomes a ghost town filled with once-open restaurant doors, I feel obligated to help the small businesses. Planned a baby shower and reserved the patio. I had been here one time before and had a good time. Long story short, I wouldn't recommend planning an event here. I should've known that service was going to be difficult because they demanded cash payment and a cash deposit before coming. They also didn't offer me any flexibility for timing the event. It was weird. I just decided to ignore my gut and go forward because I had a good experience prior. The other difficulty was that no one told us that there is a farmers market going on every Sunday. So when I got there, I didn't realize we would not be able to find parking easily and we were about five, maybe seven minutes late. This would normally not be a problem, we are in LA, usually restaurants understand and give a grace period. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt rushed. I hadn't even sat down, within a minute, and one of the waitresses was demanding me for my tea order. I haven't even looked at a menu, haven't even finished saying hi to everyone. I quickly ordered a couple teas for myself of teas, just to get her off my back. But she didn't explain to me that those were teas being offered to the entire party. That made me very upset. I tried to ask if she could switch it, but she didn't let me. Also, what do you do afternoon tea for- have quality time with people you love, relax and take pictures! For some reason NO one on staff would take our picture. I had to ask about five times before someone would help us. It just seemed as though they were in a rush to finish giving us the trays of food and tea and they were done. To be fair, the patio is adorable and the food was good and looked so cute on the little trays. But the service really ruined it for me. I'm sad to have had such an upsetting time.
