1 Star - Absolutely Would NOT Recommend!…read more If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Allstate has been an absolute nightmare from day one. When I initially signed up for both auto and homeowners insurance, everything sounded great. That quickly changed when my father was reviewing my documents and noticed that Allstate had entered the WRONG VIN number on my auto policy! While the year, make, and model were correct, the VIN was not. This could have created a major coverage issue had I been involved in an accident. And to make matters worse, when I called to correct THEIR mistake, my auto insurance premium suddenly increased by $60 per month! Fast-forward a week or two, and I receive a letter from my mortgage company informing me that my mortgage payment is increasing by approximately $200 per month because of my homeowners insurance premium! Come to find out, despite being assured that my coverage, deductibles, and premium would remain the same, Allstate had MORE THAN DOUBLED my homeowners insurance premium! My previous policy wasn't even set to expire until March 2027. Why on earth would I voluntarily switch insurance companies to pay more than DOUBLE what I was already paying? When I called to dispute this, I was essentially told there was nothing they could do. Apparently, they don't have the actual recording of my phone call, but conveniently have a transcript that supposedly shows I agreed to this outrageous increase. Absolutely absurd and completely unacceptable! Between the incorrect VIN, unexpected premium increases, misleading information, and complete lack of accountability, this has been one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had with an insurance company. I trusted Allstate to protect my home and vehicle, not create financial headaches and additional expenses due to their mistakes and misrepresentations. Save yourself the frustration, financial surprises, and headaches. I would NEVER recommend this Allstate to anyone!
