Chacho's & Chalucchi's is back! Well, that is not entirely accurate. Faithful patrons should take note that it does not look like Chalucchi's returned. Be prepared for the single Chacho's! (In short, no more pizza.) Also, the beginning on August 2025 still has only the drive thru available and only accepting cash. So if you want your Mexican food, late night drinks, make sure you bring paper money, do not plan on dining indoors yet, and maybe your identification card to be prepared! One more time here! Who is back? Chacho's back! Yours truly, always the bearer of truths, the service is not the best. Then again, it never was before, as long as we are being honest, eh? And while we are being accurate, this is only Chacho's that is back. Guess Chalucchi's ran away? The first thing we did was ask the associate whether the inside dining area was open, because it looked pretty dark. She snapped back at us that it was not, so to back up around through where we came and place our order! She did not bother trying extra hard to be friendly, either. There was no "please", it was more a grunt. Had it been an earlier hour when when other, more friendly, dining establishment options would have been available, you can bet your bottom dollar that we would not have forced ourselves to eat there. Alas, it was late enough and we were actually stuck behind someone else, anyways, so we were going to have to wait even if we were planning on actually escaping! Alas, we figured- since we sorta live within walking distance of this place and to be honest were a little foolishly unnecessarily excited that this place was finally open again- and Mexican food is relatively quick and easy, and in the past Chacho's has been pretty good at it, might as well stick it out, even if the employee was not treating us properly! Today we were reviewing the menu, almost having a mini, makeshift celebration that we had this consistently tasty 24/7 hot food source reinstated. Unfortunately for us, the lady on the other side behind the microphone was very impatient and did not wish to or did not want to even try making it any better for us! Let me tell you It was not a very pleasant experience. We were there for not even three minutes when the woman on the other side of the microphone basically yelled at us to hurry up and order. She did not ask. She mostly yelled. From the chalkboard menu, we ordered a large Queso Fries, 2 Chicken Soft Tacos,1 Steakhouse Gorsota, plus a full sized chicken quesadilla with guacamole + sour cream. Unfortunately, having to be honest as always for my Yelp readers, the service has not improved even one noticeable iota. It might have even got worse. The food quality, however, is relatively consistent. As has become the expectation over the years when they were previously open, the Mexican food and pizza when they offered it was almost always good, but customer service, even simple courtesy from the employees could not be depended on! We were unable to "test" it out today since they still have not opened the inside dining area as of the first of August 2025, but I can imagine the drunk disorderly carryings ons, partying, possibly even violence, weapon use, and guaranteed partying would be much unchanged. Not sure what the reasoning was, since the cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes were plentiful in everything else- even the fries had a good sampling of produce amongst the cheese sauce- but when we received the steakhouse gordita, it was absolutely dry. A dashed overview of the receipt mysteriously revealed "no cheese, no lettuce, no tomato". There are only two of us in the vehicle tonight. Nobody said anything about a meat only, very dry gordita! We thought about going back for our deserved cheese and vegetables, but then we saw two other trucks pull around back and gave each other a mutual look in defeat. I am at least pleased to report that the Mexican food was fresh and tasty, everything we remembered the diligent cooks and workers in the Chalucchi's kitchen were capable to execute. Because if the service was not going to be receiving an upgrade, then at least we best well be able to expect mostly consistent high quality Mexican food around the clock! Welcome back to Perrin Beitel, Chacho's! I will not deny that I am still not-so-secretly pleading to the dining powers that be, that we might be fortunate enough to have our feminine pizza privileges restored to us. And if we are very, very, lucky, maybe they will even consider the reinstatement of a certain Goodfire? At least the brisket, pretty please, dearest barbecue gods? Sausage or ribs might also be nice! And if all else fails, maybe you could send your employees to a discipline and/or etiquette training class. Being treated with decent courtesy is actually probably better than quenching meat. Although I suppose it really depends on whether we are asking the minds or stomachs, eh?

    Shredded Chicken Nachos with Queso

I came through the drive-thru after work (10:30 pm) and even though they only had 1 of 2 lanes open, it wasn't too long a wait! I got the shredded chicken nachos with queso & they came with sour cream on the side and they were so worth the drive. The guy at the drive thru was also super sweet.

I'm a fan of chacho's, but not this location after my most recent experience here. The manager, Carol, was absolutely the worst. I got 2 orders of nachos, and 3 breakfast tacos. The nachos were a generous portion, at the very least, but that's why ordered them. When I checked my bag, I noticed that they forgot the guacamole, sour cream, and salsa. But what made it worse, was that the manager said they were completely out of guacamole. So the manager hands over the sour cream and one 4oz cup of salsa. When I asked for some more salsa, because I ordered quite a bit of food for multiple people, the manager said that I'd have to pay for it. Her excuse was that a lot of restaurants only give a set amount of salsa per item. Yes, I agree, however, again, with the amount of food I ordered, one little 4oz cup would not suffice. When I asked if she could just not charge for it, seeing as she couldn't give the guac that's included with nachos, she said that it's the policy to charge for extra salsa, and the guac is just a free condiment. So after going back and forth with her, she refused some extra salsa, and said she could only charge for an 8oz salsa that's $3. That's it, no other options for salsa nor guac. I'm sorry but trying to charge me $3 for extra salsa, when I couldn't even get the guac that comes with my order, and is just ridiculous. And the managers refusal to compromise and show a little customer service was completely unacceptable. My other complaint is their refried beans aren't even smashed. My bean and cheese taco, and nachos, both had a lot of whole beans. I used to live near the Callaghan location, and I couldn't imagine this treatment coming from them. Carol has absolutely zero empathy nor customer service skills to be in her position there. I went to la tapatia across the street, who proceeded to give me some salsa for free, because it's just salsa. 2 stars instead of 1 because the nachos are good, when you can get all that's included.

Literally the worst location ever. Service 0/10. Zero customer service. Rude staff. Made me wait for my food to get a drink I asked can I get my drink or do I have to wait? Lady said "yes" My pager rang , food wasn't ready. Just the worst experience ever. Took a photo of the half filled coffee I ordered.

From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place was special. The atmosphere is beautiful, upscale, and inviting. The architecture and design throughout the restaurant are absolutely stunning. Even the restrooms were impressive and reflected the same attention to detail found throughout the entire establishment. The food was outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. This isn't your typical restaurant experience--the menu is creative, unique, and offers something different. You can tell a lot of thought goes into both the preparation and presentation of every plate. What really made the experience unforgettable, though, was the customer service. My waitress, Kreizon, was absolutely amazing. She was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made me feel welcome throughout my visit. Great service can make a good meal even better, and she definitely elevated the entire experience. The outdoor dining area is also beautiful and creates a relaxing atmosphere that's perfect for enjoying a meal and taking in the surroundings. If you're looking for a restaurant that offers exceptional food, incredible ambiance, unique architecture, and top-notch customer service, Domingo is a must-visit. This is more than just dinner--it's an experience. Highly recommended, and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in San Antonio.

Electronic dance music pulsed quietly in the background. The toilets were all individual unisex stalls that were classy, mine had run out of hand towels. Also, the entire restaurant is very dimly lit. I had to use the flashlight on my phone to read the menu, but I have poor eyesight so there's that, but it might explain the quality of the photos I took. The Paloma drink was amazing. It had a great spicy zing in the back of the throat after every sip. Queso was... kinda plain. It might have been better with the add chorizo option. It was very thick. Shrimp cocktail was big, but we started fighting over the shrimp pieces. There was plenty of onion and tomato left over after the batttle. Pollo Asado was a great flavor and the chicken was juicy. Grilled squash that was on the side was good. Chicken enchiladas were good and had freshly sliced jalapeños, which is always a welcome detail. I wasn't able to taste the quesadilla but my daoughter said it was "really good". Fried Chicken sandwich had a great flavor and the bacon was actually pork belly if I'm not mistaken. Sadly there was more batter than chicken. The seasoned fries were delicious and crispy.

We started…read morewith the Pan Fila Conchota combo that is a combination of the two that is 1/2 gallon of hot chocolate made using a base of Abuelitas with additional cinnamon, and cocoa along with something special. It was delicious! The concha was soft, buttery and flaky, with just the right sweetness. We took home the majority of it and it stayed nice and soft instead of turning hard like so many others. We decided to try several appetizers to go along with our concha to get a wider taste of their food than we would by just ordering a couple entrees. Let me tell you, this was a great idea! We ordered the Tosti-Ceviche Verde, Panela Asado, Mexican Street Corn, and their Spicy Bean Dip. The Ceviche Verde was excellent, the freshness of the fish and shrimp was wonderful with the chipotle mayo and avocado. We chose to have it on the salsa Verde Tostitos and it was all great combination. The Panelo Asado was a completely new dish for us and was extremely good with a savory flavor from the salsa Tlaquepaque that mixed well with the Panela cheese. Their tortillas though not made in house, are made for them and taste like mom made them. The Mexican Street Corn was great and had the perfect bit of char taste from the corn. It was creamy and flavorful, we did think it could use just a tad more lime juice though. The Spicy Bean Dip was very good. You can't go wrong with Oaxaca, Chorizo, and pieces of pork mixed with some mildly spicy beans. Our server was fantastic. She had great recommendations for us, and was quick with checking on our drinks and generally helping us throughout our dinner. The food was prepared quickly, was hot, tasteful and refreshing. We definitely will be going back, and recommend Pan Fila to all of you.

Not sure if the Italian side and the cantina side share the same kitchen, but we will remember to come back and try that side as well. If the Italian menu and preparation is as unique as the cantina's, it will be a worthy adventure. For our appetizer we got the cheese dish pictured. I can not recall the name, but the cheese is a cool light cheese served in a warm tomato-based sauce, topped with slices of fresh avocados and chicharones and was served with flour and corn tortillas. Very delicious! As mentioned in the opening...the menu, preparation, and presentation at Panfila is unique. For our entrees my wife got the chile Relleno and I got the Milanese con Mole. The chile Relleno was served in a bowl with just an absolutely fabulous sauce and stuffed and covered with nicely melted cheese. The Milanese con Mole was absolutely decadent! The tender pork was lightly fried and covered in the most delicious mole that I have ever eaten. The chocolate was a little more prominent in the flavor profile than I am used to; and I wouldn't think that I would like that, but it was perfect! I enjoyed every bite and used the extra tortillas from our appetizer to finish off the mole. Highly recommend anything on the menu that incorporates that mole!! Fantastic place!
