We were trying to find a place out in the Converse area. Drove around for a bit, and Maria found this place. It's in a shopping center type location, so there is plenty of parking. We walked in, and found a table, not too busy for a Saturday night. We got some chips and salsa, I like the chips and salsa here. We ordered tea, water and a Michelada. The Michelada is the best I've had so far at a Mexican restaurant, it was the ice, but the mix was good as well. I got the special, the carnitas à la mexicana. Beware, it was spicy. The beans and rice were done just right. The carnitas was a mix of sliced and cubed pork, very tasty. Maria got two chalupas, with asada on them. The asada meat was flavorful and delicious. Ernest got the beef fajita plate, I don't know what that tasted like, but I guess it was good. Ernest didn't share, lol. The waitress was very polite and kept checking on us. So great to have someone always check up on our table. They do have a drive thru, and a patio outside. Can't wait to check out the breakfast plates here. So starting off we sat down, waitress came pretty quick got our drinks. We got chips and salsa. Then we proceeded to wait at least 15 minutes before she came to get our order, mind you 2 guys had walked in after us and sat in front of us. Our waitress came and took their order. By the time she came to get our order the guys, who came after us, got their food. She finally comes and takes our order and asks us if we want more chips. We get more chips, and as we're eating them my girl finds an old chip covered in old salsa. Which we can only conclude that they dump uneaten chips from past customers back in the chip bin. Thats not only gross, but genuinely unhygienic. So now not only are we grossed out by the chips but now we're waiting forever for our food. And we all got something simple, all three of us got enchiladas and one was a kids plate. They bring our food and don't bring our little girls at the same time. Right away I noticed that they use American cheese, both my burrito and in my wife's tacos which has no place in any taco or burrito. Gross! Recommend: No. There are plenty of other places to get better tasting Mexican food and all within less than a mile or two from this place. Ambiance: I ordered my food through their drive thru so I can't really comment on the ambiance of the restaurant itself. It has patio seating and the area appeared clean. At the drive thru there was a sign that stated to "look at your order before leaving because they wouldn't make changes/corrections once you left" (I'm paraphrasing). This was a little concerning for me, because it led me to believe that this happens so often they needed a sign. Service: I ordered 3 different types of breakfast tacos and the wait seemed reasonable. The person i interacted with at the drive thru window seemed very nice. Food: I ordered 3 breakfast tacos: Potato and Egg, Migas, and Chilaquiles. It was a fairly simple taco order. The potato and egg taco had no flavor. When i opened the Migas taco it was not what I expected. Migas is typically scrambled eggs with cut up pieces of corn tortilla. What I got was egg, tomato, onion, very little corn tortilla, peppers (i believe jalapeno), and cheese. I just figured they made it differently. The flavor was ok (it at least had flavor) and it had some spice. i then opened the "Chilaquiles" taco and it looked and tasted EXACTLY like the Migas taco! Went through the drive-thru and had my order in about 5 minutes! Very impressive speed. The service was good, but the horchata and jamaica aguas frescas lacked flavor. The nachos were plain and could have used some veggies. The carne asada burritos, however, were delicious and packed with flavor. I ordered a gordita with fajita and two bean and cheese flour tortillas tacos. I was very much dissapointed with the gordita. The meat was very dry and had no flavor. The gordita was small for $6.50. All it has is beans and fajita and they provide some pico de gallo that seemed more like cubed tomato. Definitely not worth the money at all. I do commend them for the bean and cheese tacos, those were delicious and soft and only $1.89(April 2025). They did come w/ small containers of red and green salsa. Terrible food, and terrible service. The enchiladas had no taste and it seemed like they just put them in a microwave and served it. The store wasn't even clean and I ask the lady for my tea to go and Mitch wanted to charge me for another tea. Went back today to try this place out again. Our waitress was Rosi. We sat at a table & she came and asked us what drinks we wanted. We ordered our drinks and placed our food order. We didn't get our drinks for at least 15/20 minutes. Then she slowly started bringing silverware and salsa to the table after getting our drinks, it took another 23 minutes to get our food. When it arrived, our plates were cold like they had been sitting out for a long time, they were not even warm, the potatoes were hard as rocks, horrible food I tried to give this place another chance, but it's just not gonna work out. Do not recommend this restaurant at all. Rosi was a horrible waitress she wasn't tentative at all and she didn't talk to us. Me and my husband have eaten here basically every Sunday for breakfast for like five years now. I love it because there's a ton of vegan options. My favorite is the potato a la mexicana tacos. Vegan! They also have aguacate tortas, with lettuce tomato and avocado. Just make sure to ask for no sour cream. And the aguacate gordita! That has avocado, beans and pico de gallo, all vegan. We were hesitant on trying out this place because it recently opened and the pandemic has made a lot of places hit or miss on quality and service but we're glad we went. You can throw a stone in any direction and hit a Mexican restaurant in San Antonio and this was one of the best places we've been too. Great chips, puffy, salty, warm, and salsa wasn't watery. We didn't wait long for food and vegetables were fresh, rice was fluffy, and tea was recently brewed. We were worried about "fresh" because it was only us and one other group in the place at the time. Very good, and attentive. We like how we can see the kitchen which looked very clean. read more

I think this restaurant is pretty new. I was excited to try a real restaurant in the area since it's mostly fast food chains. I'm not an expert on Mexican food but we enjoyed our meal. We tried the chicken fajitas and enchilada de mole which both were tasty. Enjoyed the fresh corn tortillas. Thought the prices were very reasonable for the portion size. They have a bunch of different plates and serve breakfast all day. Hope they pick up in popularity since it would be nice to have a few more non-chain restaurants to eat out at. Despite the negative reviews, I gave this place a chance since it was down the street from house. First thing was not being able to communicate with the waitresses. I couldn't order as I'd like as she didn't understand what I was saying. Second thing, the margarita. Literally the most nastiest margarita I've ever tasted. And, I have tasted a lot :) it was just chunky ice with the most sour flavor. Third, the food. So bland. So flavorless. It was like food I could've warmed up in the microwave at home.
