Paid extra to add avocado to my burrito and......there was no avocado in my burrito. Also the burrito was oddly small. I went to Ericks around 3:40 am but I paid almost $13 for an asada burrito that did not contain the item I paid extra for and was shockingly small/lightweight. I'd been coming to this location for over a decade because it truly was one of the best places to get a mangonada and a taco late at night. Tonight was different. While it seemed pretty steady, the hour long wait was not justified by the amount of people there. I had the worst gordita I've ever had in my life, and I've been to fiesta multiple times. Some mysterious parts of the barbacoa were crunchy, they microwaved cold beans as well. The fruteria used to have the best aguas frescas made with real fruit. What was received tasted like a mix of water and powder you'd get in a jail commissary that had unripe fruit on top. My partner's horchata was basically watery condensed milk with cinnamon oil, not actual cinnamon. This is the last time I get anything from Ericks. Very sad to see it go down. read more

I picked up a few taco orders for my sisters coming in from Austin. This place was slightly hard to find. It is located next to a tire/auto shop off Nacogdoches. The food is cooked out of a food truck while they sell aqua frescos and other snacks out of a covered patio area. For around $20 we got an order of the Asada, Al Pastor and Chicken (4 tacos per order) which was a good price. The best of the 3 types was the Asada tacos. The chicken was on the drier side and the Al pastor had a weird texture/chew to it. Their hot sauces however were good but beware very hot! This is an outdoor dining area so very laid back. There is covered and uncovered bench seating. They do open very late in the wee hours of the morning...so perfect after coming from a bar to sober up on some tacos/food. read more

First time going. Enjoyed the food and environment. There is a no alcohol sign so I'm excited for an outdoor eatery that'll stay kid neutral. And the service was great. The food is cooked to order and I enjoyed everything we tasted. Was wondering why it was so empty, now I know. Their service is terrible, the snacks are just as bad. Elote in a cup had no flavor and was mostly chili powder so you couldn't taster anything else. Their mangonada had the same problem, too much chili powder. Would not go there again. read more

This place is really freaking cool. It feels like multiple places all in one area but they're all under the same name. You can go inside and eat the restaurant for some Tex Mex options, or eat authentic street food at the food truck, or even get desserts in the shaded area. It was just the neatest set up I had ever seen. We came for the al pastor de torno. Those are cooked gyro style. I learned from a Netflix series that they actually got that style from that exact thing, which is pretty cool!!! If you get the chance to try them in this style, go for it! We don't see it in Memphis, though I'm not really sure why since we have gyros up here. You can get a trio of salsa with your tacos if you ask! I didn't want to use the one left on a random table since I wasn't sure how long it had been left out or if it had been brought out for someone else before me. The one I got when I asked was nice and fresh from the fridge. This place was really cool and I would totally come back here to eat again! I'm a huge fan of their street tacos, enchiladas and charro beans. The food here tastes authentic and they have fairly large portions.The green salsa they keep on the tables is not to be ignored if you don't mind a little heat. For those with a sweet tooth, I always recommend the tres leches but they have plenty of other options available. They're open till 4 AM so if you have a long night you can still grab a bite. They also have indoor/outdoor dining options. The Bad: I don't love the fact that if you order to go that chips are an extra charge. They also charge for to go cups. I know there are some places that do this but there are more places that don't because it can be a bit offputting. However, that takes nothing away from the food itself. Just not something that I care for personally. The aftermath: We love the food here but don't order to go for the reasons mentioned above. Maybe it's the masks? I don't know but the guy taking my order couldn't hear me and I couldn't understand him. I essentially made my order as simple as can be and the dude missed an entire entree from my order. What makes it worse is that I tipped them $20 for working hard and all nice and serving people late at night, a real hustle. But no the food isn't what it used to be, little to no flavor. No enthusiasm, no energy, at least work with a smile my man. Didn't even offer to to help fix what I clearly said was my order, or even say hey man since you tipped $20 the missing order is on us. What a great place!!! This Erick's taco location is in Cibolo, TX. The dining area is spacious, the people are helpful, friendly, knowledgeable about their menu items. The service was excellent and delivery of food was quick. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our visit. The food was very delicious! The tortillas are home made and all the meat, vegetables and fruits are fresh. I felt like I was eating at a family gathering such as my grandma's (abuelita's casa) house. I spent $15 on Ericks supreme Tamales, and $4 for a bottle of Mexican Coke (I didn't know it was $4, there was no prices on the drinks). When I got my food, the plate was hotter than the food. 1/3 of the plate was rice, 1/3 of the plate was refried beans that seemed a little watered down, and then 3 anorexic tamales (I'm guessing they were tamales, they were too small to tell). Not worth the money, but I have had worse. IMHO, just go to Taco Bell. You'll get more for your money, and you won't still be hungry after spending $20. read more

Went here for dinner with my wife and in laws. Between the 4 of us we ordered 15 tacos. Al pastor (Pork), Asada (steak), Al Carbon (burnt steak), and Cabeza(head). We got them on corn and flour tortillas but the flour tortillas have a lot more meat than corn and I believe they are the same price. The al pastor was seasoned to perfection with the hint of the pineapple which is a must for pastor tacos. The corn tortillas were cooked to a point where it was soft but still had a little crunch. The Asada was OK, not that special but the Al carbon was better. It comes with some cheese which was nice. We had that on flour and there was way more meat in that than my corn tortilla Asada taco. The al carbon had more flavor and the crunch which I like. I didn't have the cabeza but my father in law said he liked it a lot. We had them all topped with onion and cilantro and some good green avocado salsa that's on the table. The red chunky salsa wasn't that great. They both had a little kick which was nice. We sat outside in the little tent that didn't have much room but it's a taco truck so you don't expect it to have the best layout but it wasn't bad. They also have desserts which I got the pepino loco (crazy cucumber) and it was too good!! Hit the spot for sure!! read more

The do have one single restroom that is unisex, it was clean, not terrible. A lot to choose from. Service was friendly they speak English and Spanish. Expected so much more, but food was average. Ordered 4 street tacos for around $8 and a "Cibolo" burrito that had ground beef, rice and beans with cheesy sauce on top. Had about half a teaspoon of guacamole. That cost was $15. The burrito wasn't even large or didn't hit the sides of the "to-go" container. Taste was average! Can we tawk???!??? I mean, can we???? I've been here at least a couple of times now and I wanna know how I can get the salsa verde, green sauce, green salsa - WHATEVER - hooked up into an IV?????? The parking sucks to high hell but eating here is worth the hassle. I've been told to eat only at the food truck but both times I ate in the house-lookin' place next door and I have to say - the food here gives Los Robertos a definite run for the money. The taco norteño is the bomb. The beans have weenies in 'em (and I'm not a bean eater but Erick's are great!) and the huarache campechano is not only HUGE but really, really good.
