We dined there a couple of time. The food is always delicious. I usually get a take out once a week here. Their Aloo Baigan and Kofta curry are so scrumptious I could eat these dishes every day and never get tired of them. Yesterday I picked up my dinner but when I got home I noticed that one Kofta curry was missing. I emailed the restaurant, and a very friendly manager contacted me within minutes after I sent this email. And ten minutes later, a very polite and cheerful gentleman delivered the missing curry to my house. I cannot recommend this place enough. read more

I came to Chaat Bhawan with my parents. Our server, I believe his name is Major , was courteous and quick to take the order. I catered the food from Chaat Bhavan in Dublin, for a dinner party of 35 plus guests at my home on August 19, 2023. The catered items included, but were not limited to,  Daal Makhani, Panner Tikka Masala, Aloo Gobhi, Stuffed Karela etc.  Even though the stuffed Karela is not on the menu, the owner went out of his way to accommodate my request. We got great compliments for each dish from my guests. All food items were delicious, not overly spicy or oily. The Daal Makhani was so yummy and amongst the best I have tasted before. The owner Gurjeet is very polite, friendly and helpful. He promised to deliver hot food on time and he kept his promise. I highly recommend this restaurant. Just posted. read more

This is my first experience in a vegetarian Indian restaurant. It was a great experience. When I walked in, I noticed many waiters working. Reading the menu was challenging. The wait is worth it! We went on a Friday evening so had to wait for about 30 minutes to sit. Once we sat down, everything else was so fast. Our server, Majer, was prompt in taking and delivering the order with a wonderful smile. The food is amazing! The flavors from India are maintained to perfection. The quality is great and the menu has plenty of options for every palate. The place is busy but not loud. There is walking room in the restaurant despite so much movement. Though, if you get seated inside, expect to hear chopping, cooking noises from the Kitchen - Fast service. From the time we ordered to when the first dish showed up, it was 10 mins. Didn't seem like a slow day - Menu/Cuisine. Some old favorites have been dropped. If you wanted South Indian food, you are better off elsewhere. What is the same - Food comes hot and tastes great. Chaat Bhavan is a no-frills, minimal-decor, vegetarian Indian sit-down restaurant on Grafton in Dublin. I came here for lunch to try something different from the usual Indian buffets. The menu here is very large, and looks like mostly Southern-style Indian cuisine. Who needs meat when there are so many different colors, textures, flavors, and even temperatures you can concoct with veggies, beans, and breads. I started with a Mulligatawny soup, a spicy lentil soup. I heard of it from watching the Soup Nazi episode of Seinfeld. It was pretty tasty though it would be nice if they threw in some more veggies. Could of swore I saw a few bits of shredded coconut in the soup. Next came this chilled, bean salad with some rice crispies added. No idea what this is called but I was probably my favorite dish. Very refreshing, filling, and full of flavor. My main lunch course is the Bel Thali plate. Basically a bunch of small side dishes of various curries, pickled veggies, rice, and some paneer. It came with savory and crispy paratha and a piece of salty pappadam. One of the dishes contain white liquid was a tart yogurt raita while the other was a sweet rice dessert. I definitely recommend trying Chaat Bhavan for some adventurous eating. Its amazing what they can do with veggies and beans here. You feel leas guilty also after eating here. read more
