The service was wonderful, all drinks are made to order and many contain local ingredients. I had the Salted Banana Cream Latte on ice with a house made banana cream. I typically try to switch it up and try some of their other flavors, which are always good, but this drink in particular always feels me back in. And evidently it is a customer favorite because while I was there I heard and least 5 other people after me order it. Sat in a very cute little corner booth that I can imagine would be a good place to study or read in private, today we chose to play Jenga! Among many boardgames the cafe also offers puzzles and miscellaneous art supplies. The person who pours coffee into a cup] that i wanted a cup of coffee black I got this sort of deer in the headlights look. What? ...I'm sure she was thinking... no Madagascar cinnamon? no foaming goop? no stale crouton crumbs? no pumpkin pie spice? Ummmm seriously? People want their coffee to taste like pumpkin? Yikes. No Miss... just a cuppa Joe. Just like my first heart throb, Anna Mae Bullock....strong and black. And I have to say, insomnia delivered. Not a bad cup of coffee at all. Although I didn't really want to hang out there since it appeared that I had zero in common with anyone I saw there... hogging the comfortable looking chairs. So I had it in a paper cup, to go. Now I have a "thing" about drinking coffee from a large, ceramic mug.... I loathe tasting paper in my coffee and yes I can tell it's in a paper cup even blindfolded. but I digress. They did have a whole display area of decadent looking pastries and not the tiny, overpriced, bogus looking stuff you see at Starbucks. Not that i would ever go into a Starbucks even to use the rest room.
