It's a good place to grab a coffee and snack. We ran thru on our way to work. They were quick to make our drinks and were super friendly. The space is comfy with an upstairs area. They sell some Christian books which I don't actually understand why but it's their biz.

Big River Coffee: Chai tea with oat milk and a vegan brownie
Chiemi N.

The first time I came into Big River Coffee, it wasn't a great experience. There weren't any vegan baked goods, they have a vegan breakfast sandwich with impossible sausage. The day that I came in last summer was during a heat wave and they weren't doing any cooking. Decided to give them another chance, so glad I did! The coffee shop is close to home. There are comfy chairs, which I look for in a coffee spot. I love to read while savoring a beverage and snack. I guess they usually have other vegan baked goods, but today they were out, but had a brownie. Brownies are one of my least favorite baked goods, but hey, beggers can't be choosy! I enjoyed spending an afternoon reading my novel along with a Chai Tea with oat milk. They have a couple other dairy alternatives. I also had the aforementioned brownie. The atmosphere is nice and pleasant with artwork adorning the walls. It's spacious and there's an upstairs that I can see people sitting upstairs from where I sit. I did not venture upstairs because I found the perfect spot to sit and read and watch the comings and goings of other patrons!

Saw the Big River Coffee sign while I was driving out of the new Reeds Crossing shopping area and stopped in for a late morning coffee. The breakfast sandwich had typical fillings but the star was the coffee! I got the honey and cinnamon toast latte, and it was exactly the right combination of those ingredients!

LEAD bagels. Do NOT order a bagel. It was cold and disgusting.

Just wow. I was so looking forward to trying this place out. We arrived on a Wednesday morning. The 2 girls behind the counter not only did not welcome us in, they made us feel like we were doing them a favor by ordering. SOOO rude! Do NOT get a bagel - they are like LEAD! Theeee worst bagels I've ever had in my life. The pastries looked pathetic in their display. Thankfully Dutch Bros. is down the block and they have FANTASTIC service.

If you like dark bitter coffee, this place is your jam. Me on the other hand? I clearly have a sensitive palate that comes alive by the tender balance of slightly bitter, sweet, and complex richness of a vanilla latte and white chocolate mocha. Sadly, this was one of the worst lattes and white mochas I've had. Had I been in the cafe I would have asked them to modify it but we went through the drive through as we were heading out for the day. Driving while improperly caffeinated can be a real hazard. But did I die? No, so I guess all is ok.

Kid's lemon gelato had a weird stringy texture.

We ( me and my 21 yr old) were so excited to have a new coffee place with a drive thru on our reg route that was not Starbucks, Black Rock, Human Bean, or Dutch Bros. With some different food items including gelato, which we adore, natch. We like variety. The building looks fancy! Honestly, our experience was not that great. We used the drive through and she was nice. Kids hot chocolate was not very hot and not anything amazing. My iced vanilla latte was not remotely vanilla-y (I wish I had read Stephanie's review first) and they did not have soy milk. Reg milk is tough on me and I cannot do almond, coconut, or oat. It is nice they offer those though, I guess. Kid's lemon gelato tasted lemony but it was slimy and oddly stringy...with ice crystals. My salted caramel gelato did taste ok but was also texturally off. Just not very good. My credit card didnt work in their reader at all. Embarassingly, cars lined up behind us while we tried a few times. Nope. It worked the very next place we went so it was not me. I don't know if we would go back. Maybe we will give them a little time to work on things. The worst part? We ditched my drink and kid's gelato and went straight to Black Rock. Oh well.

We visited this coffee shop primarily to play board games, and it was a fantastic spot for that! The ambience was cozy and relaxing, with the pleasant background sounds of coffee being made. The upstairs seating area was a highlight. I loved that the tables were surrounded by windows on all sides. We didn't try the food, but the tea was decent. To be fair, we weren't really there for the drinks, so that wasn't our focus. Service was good. Nothing extraordinary, but the barista was friendly.

Great coffee, friendly barista and they have a cozy fireplace! I'd come back again. Oh and a selection of breakfast bagels was great too!

Pumpkin patch shaken espresso

The service was great but the coffee is terrible. I got the the pumpkin patch shaken espresso with oat milk, it was way too sweet and a waste of money. The religious hobby lobby signs are a bit nauseating too. Glad I tried out this place but probably won't return.

This is a GREAT spot to either meet with friends, bring a laptop and get some work done or get cozy on one of the stuffed chairs to read a book. I sat upstairs to work alongside a friend, but there was a fireplace downstairs that I really wanted to sit by cuddled up with a book! I tried a blackberry lavender mocha, it was okay but I'll probably stick to my regular next time. There are lots of tasty pastries available and a drive through for those on the go.

I especially recommend the Maple Spiced Latte and the Raspberry Cream Cheese Danish (absolutely divine). I also have to give a special shoutout to the cinnamon rolls I picked up today. They were absolutely huge! Soft, perfectly spiced, and topped with plenty of frosting; they are a 10/10. It's also very reasonably priced for a small business, especially considering the quality of the ingredients. I have been looking for a decent breakfast/brunch place close by but so far no luck there. I am still recovering from renal failure so my mobility is severely limited. I travel mostly at the pleasure of the Veterans Transportation Service or Trimet Lyft. Today's Dr appointment finished up sooner than expected so I had some time to kill before the van returned to take me home. So I fired up my tablet and took a look on Yelp to see if there was anything of interest close by. Enter Insomnia Coffee. Lots of positive reviews. Right around the corner. So... off I go. I an a US Navy brownwater sailor. We drink coffee that tastes like coffee. No additives. None. Not even cream or (gasp) sugar. So when I told the barista [HA! The person who pours coffee into a cup] that i wanted a cup of coffee black I got this sort of deer in the headlights look. What? ...I'm sure she was thinking... no Madagascar cinnamon? no foaming goop? no stale crouton crumbs? no pumpkin pie spice? Ummmm seriously? People want their coffee to taste like pumpkin? Yikes. No Miss... just a cuppa Joe. Just like my first heart throb, Anna Mae Bullock....strong and black. And I have to say, insomnia delivered. Not a bad cup of coffee at all. Although I didn't really want to hang out there since it appeared that I had zero in common with anyone I saw there... hogging the comfortable looking chairs. So I had it in a paper cup, to go. Now I have a "thing" about drinking coffee from a large, ceramic mug.... I loathe tasting paper in my coffee and yes I can tell it's in a paper cup even blindfolded. but I digress. They did have a whole display area of decadent looking pastries and not the tiny, overpriced, bogus looking stuff you see at Starbucks. Not that i would ever go into a Starbucks even to use the rest room. They had several pies that made my mouth water and some gooey breakfast glazed things that would have seriously spiked my glucose. so I reluctantly passed. Perhaps next time :)

I'm mostly a latte girl but I still like the strong taste of coffee but I don't get that with their lattes. Imo, their coffee has a really bad aftertaste and isn't ground very well. That and their pastries are my favorite. Plus it's always a nice place to relax and study. Esp on a nice day.

I stopped by Deadstock Coffee while visiting the area and immediately loved the concept. As someone who loves coffee but loves sneakers even more, this place felt right up my alley. The shop itself is decorated with basketball and sneaker culture, along with iconic sports moments that make the space feel unique without trying too hard. One thing that caught me off guard was that there wasn't a traditional menu posted. As a first-time visitor, I wasn't sure what coffee options, blends, or milk choices were available. Thankfully, it wasn't too busy, and the employee working was incredibly patient, friendly, and happy to walk me through everything. Customer service like that goes a long way. My drink was excellent, and the sneaker design printed on top of the coffee was such a cool touch. It's one of those little details that makes the experience memorable and fits perfectly with the brand. Whether you're a sneakerhead, a coffee lover, or both, Deadstock Coffee is worth checking out. I'll definitely be stopping by again the next time I'm in the area.

The breakfast burrito was also delicious. I added sausage, Guac, and mushrooms. It would've been a 10/10 if left off the mushrooms. The burger tasted precooked, not a lot of flavor, just ok. The fries were fresh and hot, and seasoned perfectly. Another good experience at this incredible sneaker-themed coffee shop not too far from Nike. Definitely go for the coffee, you'll love it.

I've tried both the ube coconut latte and the black sesame latte, each made with plant-based milk instead of regular milk. The ube coconut latte was smooth, well-balanced, and not overly sweet. The black sesame latte, however, was the standout for me. It had a rich, nutty flavor and is hands-down my favorite of the two. I don't believe it's a regular menu item, so if you happen to see it, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. Loro is on the pricier side, which is why I don't visit as often as I'd like, but I genuinely think it's worth it. The quality of the food and drinks makes it feel like a special treat. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is the parking. The café is tucked between apartments and other retail spaces, so street parking is your only option. I've had to circle the block several times before finding a spot, making it less convenient if you're driving. Parking aside, this is a charming neighborhood coffee shop that consistently serves flavorful food and thoughtfully crafted drinks. If you're looking to treat yourself to an exceptional breakfast sandwich and a beautifully made latte, Loro Coffee is well worth the visit.
