I'm chronically ill, and today I got some really scary health news, so I booked a massage here to try to relax. The room they do the massages in is super bright. Once I rolled on my back and she was doing my scalp massage, she didn't have anything covering my eyes for most of it so the full-brightness in the room wasn't really calming. She eventually covered my eyes but not for the first good bit of it. Certain songs on their playlist were super fast paced and upbeat too so it felt a little stressful (it was all instrumental, but some of the piano stuff felt like Flight of the Bumblebee kinda piano instrumental). Massage itself was fairly nice. When I got up though, my shoulders felt SUPER sore, and that's never happened to me with massages in the past (I'm writing this 3 hours later, and they're still sore!). Also, my mom also booked a massage for the same length of time, but oddly enough I got out a good 8-10 minutes before her. I didn't check the time I went in (we got taken in a bit after appt time), so I don't know if my lady went under my time or my mom's went over. Anyways, despite all that, the woman had still done her service and she seemed nice so I wanted to give her a 15% tip. Calculated what I paid for the service and it said 15% was $6.50, so I gave her $7. She took it, counted it, and then told me to my face "$7? 7?? Only $7???" I informed her that because of my health issues I'm not able to work right now, and that I'd love to tip her more if I could, and she just walked away. I understand why someone would be peeved if I stiffed her. I used to work in customer service back before I had health issues. I know tipping is important, but complaining in a customer's face about 15% really rubbed me the wrong way. Tipping culture has gotten so out of hand... I'm so upset, because I went in for something relaxing after my horrible day, and then left just feeling embarrassed, sore, and $55 poorer. Which may not be a lot to some people but as someone who can't work who can only treat myself to something once in a blue moon and decided to today because of how upsetting of a day I had, it's a lot to spend to leave unhappy. My mom who was massaged by another lady had a great experience though. She'd covered my mom's eyes the whole time she was on her back, my mom didn't have back pain after, and when my mom tipped (same $ amount), she was very grateful and kind about it. Neither of us got the names of the people who helped us unfortunately but I guess your experience here depends on who you get.

They offer a variety of options and have a good membership offer so you can self-care regularly. A membership also gets you a guest who can book at a discount so you and a plus one can both have a spa day! The staff is very friendly and informative and the venue is very quaint and has advisory signs to keep the volume low to respect the other guests getting their services. If you opt for the combination you get placed in the front area with the privacy curtain so they can soak your feet. The private rooms in the back are for body massages only. There are lockers to hold your belongings and at the end they will give you water or tea. I signed up for the annual membership so I can't wait to return every month! Parking is very easy and there is plenty of ATMs around so you can get cash to tip!

When they texted me about a Mother's Day special a few weeks ago with a special code for a 1 hr massage at $59, I booked a 1 hr body massage online. However the code took off just $31 from the $100 original price, so the total was $69 - which is $10 more than the $59 advertised. When I called the spa about it, they explained that it's only max $31 off - even though it did not say that anywhere in the text or online booking site. When I told them that it's misleading, they still would not budge and honor the $59 price. Well I got a new text today with basically the same language - claiming any 1 hour massage is $59 with the same code. Out of curiosity, I checked online and tried all 3 massage types as they are all different prices. Only the FOOT massage is $59 with the discount, since it's still only taking $31 off the original price of $90. For BODY, it did the same thing as last time - only taking $31 off from $100 so it's $69. For the COMBO, it's $64 since it took $31 off $95. Even though I advised them to change the wording on their marketing texts and emails, they did it again which is why I'm posting for others to be aware.

They sat my daughter down and explained in detail what to expect, reassuring her that her first massage was going to be an enjoyable experience. Her masseuse, Sylvia, was understanding, kind and truly wonderful. My daughter absolutely loved her massage and felt immediate relief.
