I dropped off a king size comforter here and it was expected back in two weeks, or so I was told by the staff. That seemed a little long for a comforter, but they said they had a specific place they had to send it off to, and it takes longer. They were having a "10% off all comforters" special, so I agreed to wait. I went back to pick it to pick it up two weeks later and it wasnt back yet. I came back 2 more days later, as instructed by the staff, and it took the two guys working up front nearly 15 minutes to find my item. Once I got home, I unwrapped the comforter to lay it on my bed and there was long white dog hair covering the entire blanket, front and back. I immediately called the store and told them. They said it must have been there prior to the cleaning and there wasn't much they could do... until I told them I didnt even own a dog! Suddenly, they offered to clean the comforter again. I told them I would rather have a refund so I could take it somewhere else and get it done right, but they refused. They promised it would be expedited and free of charge this time. (Sorry, I cannot recall what I paid for the service the first time.) Everytime I called they told me not to worry, they'll be sure to call me when it's ready. Another 17 days go by (now 31 days that I hadn't had my bedding), and my comforter is finally ready to be picked up. Again, it's 15-20 minutes to find my item, and was even told once that it was not there. I checked the comforter in-store and it was about 85% hair-free. Not to mention it had an extremely strong chemical smell. I took a lint brush to it at home and got the rest of the dog hair out, but I'll never take another item to this place! read more

I really wish I could give zero stars.. We were looking for a new dry cleaner for my husbands uniform and I came on yelp and saw that this place had great reviews.... The first two times we took the uniform, the service was great, the third time no so much. I dropped his uniform off on Tuesday, asked for it to be ready on Wednesday, they said "okay it'll be ready by 2:30pm on Wednesday." On Wednesday I show up and one of the girls says "oh, the uniform isn't ready." (I saw her walk to the rack and look at the shirt) so I said "okay well when will it be ready? " And she said "We're having an issue with the machine at the other store so they're hoping that it'll be done by 5:30pm today." I said okay "Well, we won't be able to pick it up at that time, will it be for sure ready tomorrow?" She said "I can't guarantee that because we're trying to fix the machine." I called my husband and asked him what he wanted me to do, and he asked me to just get his uniform and well wash it at home. I went back in and asked the same girl if I can just get his uniform back, and we'll wash it at home. She said "We don't have the uniform, that's what I just told you." I was like what do you mean, I just saw the shirt on the rack, and then she proceeds to tell me that the pants are STUCK in the machine.... I ended up getting the shirt for his uniform back that day, but not the pants, and they made me pay for both pieces of the uniform before I left. The thing that really pissed me off is the girl behind the counter is acting so nonchalant popping her gum and saying sorry I don't know what to tell you.. And talks to me like I'm and idiot. And why didn't they call us and tell us that the uniform wasn't ready and that they were having an issue with the washer??? Instead they just let me drive over there for nothing... I said "Okay, well we will be back tomorrow to pick it up. " She said "I can't guarantee that it'll be ready by then." At that point I just left. I came back on Thursday around 1pm, i asked the same girl if the pants were ready, her and another girl just wandered around looking dumbfounded. Finally she comes back and says "I found the tag but not the pants." I said "Okay soooo??" And she said that she would have to call the other store and make sure the pants are over there, and ask them if they can bring them.. She also told me that the driver had just left and that she would try to get them to bring them back, and that it would be there by 5:30 HOPEFULLY. She stood in the back dialing numbers and then said she couldn't reach them, that they weren't answering the phone...at this point I was furious. I told her you know this is kind of ridiculous, he needs his uniform back. At which time she said I'm sorry I don't know what to tell you. We never received a call or anything saying that his pants were back, and I couldn't go back in before I had to go to work. I went back in Friday morning, and finally got the pants for his uniform back. The guy that I spoke with was a lot nicer than the girl I had been dealing with but they were still very unsympathetic and nonchalant about keeping the pants for his uniform for three days longer than it was supposed to be. I understand things happen, and machines break, but for them to not call us and keep us updated is outrageous... And for the girl behind the counter to act like it's okay that he doesn't have his pants for his uniform is just ridiculous. I explained to her that he's a sheriff (which she obviously knew because of the uniform) and that he needed his pants back ASAP, and she still just acted like eh whatever... I'll never go back here and I'll never suggest anyone ever go here. Look deeper into this company before you drop your clothes off with them. I thought the reviews were great but then I realized that the store they actually clean the clothes at has crap reviews and only two stars. read more

The young lady who serves at the counter is friendly, remembers her clients, and is willing to try to work things out if there are ever any issues. The young man who sometimes works the counter is also very nice and helpful, and cares about the quality of their work. We generally have found this to be a very good service and continue to use them over the years. We could go elsewhere, but we don't. I particularly appreciate their attention to using non-toxic cleaning products. It matters. read more

I am posting this review after watching my wife beat her head against the wall with theses folks for several weeks, then I made the un-answered calls the last few weeks. For more than a decade, she's had nothing but great success with the previous owners. If she had been to the cleaners that day she would always tell me that night when she'd be getting the armful of clothes out of the car for me to take up stairs so she could put them away, how wonderful the young couple was and how much she just loved them. Stark difference since the new owners. I put them in the "Ultra-High-End" price range due the lost clothing and frustration level. This is what my wife wants people to know about Century cleaners: I have had similar problems since they changed management. They bad mouthed Josh and Victoria the previous management for their problems. I am out a shirt because of their negligence. I had to initiate all contact with no apologies for the loss. I was promised reimbursement but whenever I call now they just give me more run around. I was always taught the customer was important to the business but have since learned this is not the case. I will never recommend them nor will I ever go back. CENTURY EXPRESS should be put out of business. To Josh and Victoria a thousand thank yous for your great service. My husband took my two skirts and his shirt in on Thursday morning before Christmas and asked if there was anyway that these could be ready on Friday. He was told yes, that it would be back Friday after 4:30. We were delayed in LA and didn't go to pick them up until Saturday. When we went to pick them up, we were told they would not be back until Wednesday the day AFTER Christmas. The Items we took in we were planning on using on Sunday and on Christmas. Needless to say, we were very disappointed and will not ever use this place again. My problem with this place is that they tell me my stuff will be done a certain day and it's not. Twice. Two times! I go in with my receipt. They look and look and can't find my stuff. They says sorry and they will call when it arrives. First time, they didn't call. They "forgot". Second time, I was so mad and said how it wasn't the first time. And I even waited a day passed the receipt time. Knowing they're slow. And my stuff wasn't ready. I hate having to go more than once to try to get my stuff that should be ready. this plus how their atm machine busted for a month or so makes me not want to ever go back. So sad. Sadly I had a Debutante Ball gown cleaned here. I paid $75 to have the beautiful gown cleaned last April. I picked up the gown and stored it in my closet I just got it out and opened it from the plastic to show off the dress IT WAS NOT CLEANED AT ALL HAS A HUGE STAIN ON THE BOTTOM IM SO TICKED OFF!!! Now there is nothing I can do about it they had the gown for at least a month I'm trying to find my receipts but they are closed anyways what a joke!!! Worst experience ever ! Took the suit I got married in to get cleaned . Back and forth after a month of then saying it wasn't ready or it's at the other warehouse before they finally tell me they can't find it. They offered no compensation , not one apology and clearly were lying to me the whole time. I just lost out on 250$ pants and have a worthless matching suit jacket. Extremely disappointed in the service and management at Century Express Drycleaners!! The owner is a liar and a crook. I dropped off a suit and a dress to be dry cleaned. The dress had some piling on it and the owner said he would be able to remove it for 5$ charge. I asked how and he demonstrated to me that it would be easy. I was excited and agreed on the removal and charge. When I went to pick it up today not only was the piling not removed there were now several, I counted 5, holes/tears in the fabric of my dress and pieces of white that were not there before. It was worn one time for my sisters wedding and didn't have any damage beside the minor piling when I dropped it off. The owner refused to pay for it. After arguing for 20 min and being upset did he decide to charge the 5$ less. He continued to insist that the dress had holes when I dropped it off. I tried to reason with him why would I dry clean a dress with holes that is obviously now ruined. He kept lying saying it was like that. I asked his name and he refused to give it and stated I could look it up online. I have been going to this dry cleaners for 5+ years and will never return. What a joke to see the new owner declaring his dedication on here to customers having a satisfying and pleasurable experience!! This was the worst dry cleaning experience ever!! He just stood there and just kept lying to my face. Even had the nerve to say he showed me the hole when I dropped it off. I was like are you kidding me!? So disappointed in the lack of integrity of this place. I love supporting small business owners who take pride in quality work and who treat their patrons with professionalism. Awful service. First, before I even gave them my clothing, I asked if they could have it done the next day and they said yes, by 3. I went to pick up and they said my clothes wouldn't be there til 5! (They send the clothes out I guess? So I couldn't even take what I needed and do it myself) so we were forced to buy new things for the event. THEN I went to pick up later l, got my clothes and the white collared shirt was STAINED EVERYWHERE. This shirt had barely been worn and had absolutely no stains at all. So very upset. read more

First of all this is the first time I have ever written a review. I have used Century Express cleaners for over 10 years and have been satisfied with the service...UNTIL NOW, with their NEW CHANGE OF MANAGEMENT/OWNERSHIP! I took a shirt in to be laundered about a month ago. The shirt came back with with large globs of something in several spots - unwearable. After redoing the shirt it came back the same way. The people in charge said that since the shirt was originally brought in before there was a change in management they would do nothing for me. This was a near new shirt that cost $50.00. This store is the sister site to Century Plaza Cleaners, but this is a drop off your clothes and just pick them up the next day kind of store. The other store does all the cleaning. The staff here is very friendly and knowledgeable and the prices are good. You wont get same day cleaning here (if you want that you gotta go to their other store on J and 20th East), but you will get great service. They also have specials and deals going on from time to time so you gotta ask about that when you go in. read more

I'm so very confused with the new owners. To not pay attention and answer yelp reviews is beyond me. All I want as a customer is to be acknowledged when you walk in. And when they changed hands it was night and day service! I loved that they would call and remind you that it had been over 30 days and were so very kind. THEN they stopped working their business! Maria is absolutely NOT the person to have as your "front person!" Her social skills are horrible! I'm going to bet that these yelp reviews about service all revolve around her! I dropped off laundry and a pair of jeans on the 2nd to have the button replaced. The young girl didn't know if it could be done and said the seamstress would call me by 5:00. No call. I finally remembered and called this morning. First of all, the mailbox hasn't been set up on their phone. Called again, explained the reason for my call and Maria said, "Hold on." Not..."I'm so sorry" or any apology of ANY kind! Then comes back on the line and tells me to call back at 4:00. I told her to have her call me and she cut me off and said, "There's nothing I can do." When she proceeded to argue with me, I told her I would be in to pick up my laundry and won't return. When I got there and realized which lady she is, it made PERFECT sense! She's the least knowledgeable person and is so rude! I asked for the owners contact information and she handed me a card and continued with what she was doing. The previous owners left to India, and have left a group of teenagers in charge with absolutely no idea how to run a business.My story is the same as everyone else over the last few months. Personally, I dropped a uniform off here that was needed two days later, I paid for expedited service, they said it would be ready by 3pm today. Came back today and no uniform. They said it had possibly been sent to their other store, and that I could pick it up Monday. I explained that this was unacceptable, at which point they gave me a non working number to their other store. So I drive to the other store and they have no idea where the uniform is. Mind you each store is nothing but teenagers. Long story short, I just kept getting the run around, they couldn't tell me where my clothes were, no big deal to them, even if they returned my clothes a month from now it is no loss to them. As I waited at least three other customers came in asking for clothes that were "lost". They even offered a lady " store credit" for her almost new shirt that they lost. Another woman was told her leather jacket had possibly been sent to SAN FERNANDO! She said she had paid for expedited service and had been getting the run around for three weeks. I didn't see a single person come in and actually receive clothes. Yet another woman had her comforter "lost" Furthermore, they are unable to take credit card payments at this time, likely due to the fact that people's credit card information is being stolen from their system. Please read the other reviews, the workers at the shop confirm that they needed a lawyer due to some type of credit card identity theft case associated with the dry cleaners. Negative posts from last year and previous owner/managers - probably valid. They lost clothes, payments, and basically didn't appear to care. Current owners/managers...GREAT! Organized intake/output. Clothing done when promised and ALWAYS guarantee customer satisfaction. If you have a concern or issues - talk to them. Terrible service. They said that they do alterations. They measured 4 (Brand New pair) of my pants and one of my son's (Brand New Suit Pants) and 3 of mine and my son's were cut shorter than they were supposed to be. The last pair of my pants that were not hemmed (thankfully) but they charged me anyway. When I noticed and asked them to refund me the $10 for the alteration that was not done they said they would call me after they talked to ty he manager. 2 weeks later no call. I showed up to ask about the money and if they were going to replace the pants that grey ruined by cutting g the. To short I was given my $10 and they said that the pants were my problem. When my husband complained that we didn't get the right price, he was told we'd have to get more cleaning done and have the $23.99 taken off that. As if. Well, it's been an adventure and I'm up a creek, courtesy of Century Express Cleaners. Let's discuss how this is supposed to work. I bring clothes, they give me a piece of paper, they clean the clothes, I come back, I pay, I go home. Here's how it actually went: I brought clothes (five suits), kid behind the counter destroys my name in the style of a Starbucks barista (Normally, not at all a big deal, but foreshadowing, especially since he asked me how to spell it, then slaughtered it. Also, my name is Nicole Smith. Seriously, how do you mess that up?), promises the suits will be ready the next day at two, gives me my receipt. Next day, I arrive around 4pm and hand the same kid the slip. He disappears for what can only be described as an inordinate amount of time. He grabs a friend. They sift through hundreds of items. Finally, they find one jacket. No pants, just the jacket. Four and a half suits not found. As he's sifting through, he has the one jacket hanging above his head. He repeatedly walks through the jacket, getting his head and hair all up in said jacket. Weird, but alright... just find me dang clothes, child man! Next, he says, no we don't have them, they must be at our other store. Must not have been marked express. Sorry, he says, it's not my fault. Oh, really, bucky? You marked my receipt, you handed them the clothes, you seem to be in some kind of authority position here... yes, yes, this IS your fault. He shrugs and tells me I can go to the other store and get them, but that they are probably not clean. So, they washed one jacket, and lost the rest. Great. So, I haul clear across town to their other store, where a nice young man tells me they've looked through everything and they can't find the suits at all. Nowhere to be found. It's been an hour and a half of my time at this point, and I don't have anything to wear tomorrow. Fantastic. Oh fun fact, I look carefully at my receipt and it only notes 4 suits. Back to manchild #1 at store one, not only can he not spell, he can't add. This one's partly on me, I should have noticed, but holy **** man! I wait while nice kid keeps looking. No dice. I asked second store nice kid to call his boss to fix this. He tells me he can't get a hold of him, because boss man is meeting with a lawyer, because their credit card system got hacked and "They stole a lot of money." Wonderful. So, credit card information is not secure, clothes are missing, employees can't add or spell, and after almost two hours, no progress whatsoever. Finally, I ask the kid to keep looking, and to call me when he finds my stuff. He promises to call before 7pm to let me know what happened. Still waiting, Century Express Cleaners! Please return my suits or provide funds to replace them. For everyone else, beware, mates! No good can come of this. PS. As I was writing down a description of the missing items, a young lady came in and asked about her missing skirts. They couldn't find them, big surprise. So this is apparently a thing at Century Express Cleaners. Pro tip: This is probably not a good business model for a dry cleaners. read more

As it goes, you don't normally think much of a dry cleaning business, until you really need one and need a good one. Well, I've found the best!! Not only are Josh and Vicky the sweetest and most friendly people running the store, but they are so efficient and flexible. I have my laundry picked up and delivered weekly and it took a cumbersome task and turned it into a real pleasure to do. I throw the bag outside on Tuesday and have it back on Thursday. What a fantastic service and the prices are very competitive!! Unfortunately the owner fired the previous managers (Josh & Vicky) and the place is now a mess. I have been coming here for years and never had a problem. The owners don't care about the business at all. They have new managers who don't know what they are doing. First all the problems were blamed on the previous managers but the issues I was having were items going missing once sent to be cleaned and never returned, items damaged once sent to be cleaned and returned damaged. Like I'm not going to notice holes on the legs of my new jeans (they were folded in and placed on the hanger so that it was hidden) I discovered when I went to wear them. I waited a total of 6 weeks for the new manager to talk to the boss and get my reimbursement. I was called by Brian and told to come in on Tuesday morning for my reimbursement. Went in and was told by Brian "oh we didn't have a lot of cash come into the store so I don't have enough cash, I'm sorry". Are you kidding me. You have my number, you told me to come in and still I'm waiting. If you want to have things lost, damaged or just don't care, this is the place for you. This is a poorly run business with owners and managers who just don't care about customers or the service that they provide? I recommend that you avoid this business at all costs. read more

I recently moved to the area and noticed this dry cleaner in the shopping area that I frequently go to. If there are any "marginal previous reviews" note that the business is now under new management. I have been taking my items there for a few months now. I am very happy with the quality, prices and service. In fact, in one instance, I wanted a leather item cleaned. The owner was working that day and told me it would be expensive to clean because he would have to send it out to another location. He offered a suggestion for cleaning the item at home, I did and and ended up saving me quite a bit of money. read more
