Well if I can post a negative 100 I would. And for all you that are thinking about buying a Century built home and don't want to read on you've been warned. RUN dont walk to the next builder. So our house is almost 4 years old, oh lets see, our driveway is crumbling, warranty claim denied. Our stucco is cracking, warranty claim denied, our roof has numerous leaks that has caused extensive drywall damage in the master bath, warranty claim denied, every and I mean every seam in the dry wall ceiling to wall is cracking, warranty claim denied. Now we aren't even going to mention the exterior paint is tarnished and the fence is falling apart. All of this on a almost 4 year old 400K house. ZERO quality, ZERO builder care. Like I said, RUN to any other builder these guys are horrible. read more

If you want a home without mold all over the attic, peeling floors, high humidity from the very first month after purchase, plus total neglect from the builder, constant avoidance of responsibility, and repeated lies -- then this company is not for you. read more

we bought our home in the summer of 2023. We have had multiple problems that had to be fixed ever since then. The day we moved in we put clothes in the washer and the washer was not connected properly. Water ran down to our downstairs ceiling and the ceiling had to be fixed. Our shower was also not installed correctly, and it caused the wall to get wet. We had to have them completely reinstall the shower and the dry wall. When I asked the plumber what happened, they explained that century was given specific instructions that were not followed by the builder, and that is what caused the water leaking into the wall. There are base boards that have pieces missing, which to me is just unacceptable when you pay $370,000 for a home. The floors were making several loud popping noises recently, CRT flooring was scheduled to be here in the afternoon, along with the framer from century. Century's framer never showed up until 4:30 and CRT had already left. The framer looked at me and asked me what he is supposed to do. I called Ricardo ( who is a flake ) and explained to him that I don't speak Spanish and it is not my job to teach him how to frame floors. I requested he come back with CRT. They came the next morning and fixed the floors, however there is still loud popping in a couple of areas. Our home was put together with less than half effort, and when certain things have had to be fixed, I have been stood up by century Or told my warranty has expired so there is nothing they can do, even though it is their piss poor job that caused the issue. My neighbors found beer cans in their wall when they had their banister redone. I will never purchase a home from century again. The lack of care for their customers is UNREAL. Two days ago, our towel rack in the guest bathroom just fell out of the wall, only to find out it was just in dry wall. Not anchored into a stud or anything, and Ricardo Garcia told me they won't fix it because it is out of warranty. he also told me he empathizes with me. Then I found out HE is the division lead and the flake who makes the decisions to help customers who feel wronged. Century does not care one bit about their customers, and we feel absolutely scammed. We will be moving in the next year or two. PICK ANY OTHER BUILDER! read more

Century Communities - Towel rack that was just screwed into dry wall with no anchor or stud - General Contractors Near Me - Austin, Texas

Currently renting a "new build" home and the construction/ finish is poorly done. Thankfully we didn't buy because I would be pissed. Found a bucket of beer and trash under the sink, nails/ screws on the carpet, floors aren't level, you can feel where the floor boards aren't flush together under the carpet, floor boards are chipped up, paint all over the floor. Some of this falls on the landlord but as we noticed a few things we began to look for more and found all these issues. Who knows what corners were cut for the foundation of the house. read more

Century Communities built my home, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. As a first-time homebuyer, I was a bit nervous going into the process, but Adam and David made everything so smooth and stress-free. He was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, always ready to answer questions and guide me through each step. I truly had the best experience and would absolutely recommend Century Communities--especially if you get to work with Adam! read more

I am very disappointed to have even gotten involved with this builder. I purchased a home for my 77 yr mother. After my dad died it was time for her to get out of the house we grew up in and go into a new beginning. This was quickly ruined! we closed on dec 27, 2023. When we got the house there was debris all over yard and driveway. There was mud all over driveway and front door, stairs had mud stains from boots, blind in front was broken, door off hinges in bedroom downstairs, garage door was not working, HVAC was not working and during the 17 degree weather in Houston my mother was with NO heater at the house, microwave does not work and still doesn't to this day. I have had the construction manager Jacob Gandy disappear on me, Jose Garza was complete *** and still hasn't gotten anything done. He reads my text messages and doesn't respond, Angela Green who promised she would "handle" all this does NOT respond to text, calls or even emails. TO get someone's phone number higher up has been like pulling teeth. To this day, I cannot get anyone to return my calls or even get this stuff fixed. It is really disappointing that my 77 yr old mother has to endure all this because they cannot do their job!!! I am still trying to get someone to call me back and no one has or even think they will read more

Tried to force closing before house was finished with loads of unresolved issues. Thinking I almost got scammed.

My entire neighborhood has had issues with Century since the neighborhood was built in 2020. Several homes have had mold issues since day 1 and they were never fixed, even after inspection from the company itself. Several neighbors have contacted Angela for repairs that should be under warranty and they were ghosted. Not to mention there have been several other issues withe the poor fencing, installation of appliances, etc. These homes were cheaply made and the builders don't give a s*** about the buyers. They deserve any lawsuits that are coming their way. read more

If you buy a home from the builder you are crazy!!!!!! My first advise would to be to read the builders contract!!! Once you sign all your rights are gone!!!! My daughter was buying a house from them but we had such a horrible experience we broke the contract and lost her earnest money which at this point was better than getting stuck with a house that would be falling apart in no time!!!!! I am the owner in the video posted below, Century has no regard for trees and damn near killed most or all the native heritage trees in our neighborhood due to lack of care during construction and they don't want to take responsibility on fixing the problem. Century don't care about you once you close on the house. Make sure to get warranty for trees on the yard in WRITING!! They should consider firing the warranty agent Melicia as well, she was horrendous to deal with every time. http://www.kxan.com/news/local/austin/homeowners-say-builder-refused-to-help-save-dying-heritage-trees/1197305142 @Century Communities @Century Communities (Austin, TX) If there is 0 stars I would give them that for not caring for the environment and trees. read more

Nothing felt welcoming. Everything done online which is not very business savvy. They don't paint the inside of the garage, why not your already there. Zero window screens. Closing coordinator only coordinates via email, zero phone calls. I never met anyone in person... Made my first time home buying experience whack. read more

If you're considering buying a house with CENTURY COMMUNITIES think again and check reviews, I wish i can give them 0 stars , I made the mistake of going to my closing to sign all paper work with an irrigation leak with out been fixed , the construction manager promised me he will fix it, some guys came over and found the first leak, it was a very poor quality job, they fixed the first leak and left, the problem is that they did not check for other leaks, there are other leaks that they don't want to take responsibility of, when we moved in last May of 2023 the stairwell hand rail broke down the fist week it wasn't nailed to the wood stud it was nailed to the sheet rock only, bad quality work again, the electrical breaker kicks out at least ones a week, also i starting noticing several cracks on walls and what really bothers me the most is that almost all second story sub floor makes noise on every step you take i am not going to call them again to fix anything because they gave me hard time, they ask you to submit a warranty ticket on their website that did not work to submit warranty tickets , i will fix all of this my self the right way, but i ll make sure to tell everyone i meet looking at the new houses about this, they just care about you signing . read more

We just closed in june 01/2022. Several issues with the house. Builder on the final walkthrough told my husband that the small issues can be fixed after closing . He already texted the seller agent and the builder and not answer at all. My husband submitted already several tickets about the issues tiles broken, bathtub is cracked, a tile next to the toilet in master bedroom cracked terrible. I just started cleaning the bathtub and notice they were painting on top of it without covering, the bathtub is all scratched looks like trash. The concrete base of the AC unit is moved from the wall really bad, holes under kitchen cabinets, outlet without covering, completely unacceptable. So unprofessional company, now we have to wait I don't until when and see if they are going to repair everything. Bathtub has to be replaced. Very traumatic experience. This are only a couple of the issues. Also look at the answer from them here in google, for what? They already when to my hiuse but everything is normal for them, they just make you waste your time, money and plenty of excuses only because they don't to fixed things. Also the dangers of the gas range that is overheating and catch on fire the first time we used it, they don't care because many more neighbors complained about it and nothing happens, they are waiting until a house gets totally in fire to maybe do something. They also never on time, keep changing hours for fixing things and days, just to get people tired and stop requesting warranty. Please do not purchase a house here in you don't want your life to be miserable. After the whirlpool "technician went to put a gasket on the oven door, still same issue, overheating, very unsafe and looks extremely horrible. Im so traumatized and don't want to use this gas range anymore, but century doesn't want to replaced for something safer and better . What we want is century to replaced for a different and safer gas range or to give us the money and we can get something better even if we had to put extra money. Also look at the finishing under doors and baseboards, looks terrible, They work mediocre and don't care what we're paying for a house. read more

Century Complete bought Heritage Oaks in Macclenny, FL and completed the building/construction of approximately 75-80 houses within a year. The building materials used in the homes were exposed to the elements for months on end before using them to build the houses. Warped trusses were used despite the condition they were in. The Heritage Oaks community was a reputable community with high quality, well built houses prior to Century's arrival. They built poor quality houses that were built quickly with cheap materials, from the foundation to the roof. The flooring consists of poor quality carpet and linoleum that was rolled out onto the filthy streets next to the dumpsters prior to installation. The contractors and construction workers had absolutely no regard for the homeowners. They frequently blocked driveways, left building materials such as concrete and nails in the roads. Homeowners that have reported nails in their tires were disregarded. Huge dumpsters were left in the roadway for months. The large concrete and delivery trucks damaged all of the roads and they refused to repair the damage saying it's up to the city government to fix the damage. If asked I wouldn't recommend Century Complete to build a dog house! They are atrocious, money hungry developers who can care less about the communities they take over. read more

We signed our contract back in June of 2013. I was given an undated (signed by "illegible" Century Land Holdings II, LLC, "Authorized Signatory") amendment back in October, advising me of the buy-out and that we would not be effected. We lost our beloved Keith Jackson (right before Christmas, I might add-nice present to give your best salesman) as a result of the buy-out. No one alerted us to this (only a vague e-mail-notification of the new person in charge) Things seemed to be (snail's-pace) moving along. We got to meet our contractor and build a report. Then he left (supposedly for a better job elsewhere) Again, he didn't inform us. We got a new project manager and at this point we're tired of building new relationship-reports with new people. read more

We are extremely pleased with the entire experience. From start to finish! Fantastic company with a great product!

Such a stressful time. Lack of communication between lender, seller, underwriter, etc. caused us to have to submit documents more than once several times. Everyone was nice, but..... Found termites on the patio. Spent $500+ to a termite company and found out later that we already had a one year warranty with a different pest control company. Century will not reimburse us for the money we spent needlessly. They said we were informed, even sent a document to me to prove we were told. The document did not inform us who to call if we had a problem. There were 2 major plumbing problems before we moved in. One saturated the carpet in the master, one required the garage floor to be dug up to fix. There were multiple minor things that needed to be taken care of. Closing was on the 9th of that month. We made everyone aware that we would not move in until the 27th of that month and they had the freedom to come and go to take care of all the (mostly) cosmetic issues. Only a couple of things were completed. Ended up having to deal with that after we were moved in and only after multiple calls from me and my real estate agent. There is a crack all the way across the patio that is unsightly. They did a horrible patch job. Then they came back and chipped that off but I'm stuck with the crack and no other offers to fix it from Century. Hindsight.....should have taken our time and researched more before buying. read more

We loved Chuck at Vintage Oaks. He had great ideas. We kept contacting him and he did not respond. He came to look at our property, but did not follow through. We eventually got ahold of him. He said that someone left unexpectedly and he had to take over their projects. He said he was getting his head above water and that he would call me in the morning. That never happened. read more

Jimmy Jacobs, now Century Communities, turned our once in a lifetime dream home build into a nightmare. Our chimney has leaked since day one, among many other problems. The "fixed" it twice under warranty. It still leaks at year 5 and they've blown us off. A knowledgeable roofer found the problem in 5 minutes-wrong cap installed leaving a 1" gap for rain to come in. They also didn't bother to install flashing on another part of the roof. We're now having to replace wood flooring throughout the house because the color can no longer be matched. Just a sampling of their negligent mistakes. read more

From the sales team to the construction to warranty guy to you move in has been nothing but a headache since moving in. Before moving in was OK then after has been nothing but unpleasant experience. They will take over 2 to 3 weeks to get something fixed even though it should of been done prior to moving in even with a 3rd party inspector and that they promised it would be done. The grass is put in horribly and put in dead grass. The sales team (Dominique) will say something will be included but if you don't read the fine print it will not be there after you move in. Then the construction people (Taylor & Collin) will say something will be fixed then it was not and it took multiple attempts and past your 30 days. Then you have to deal with the warranty guy (Phillip) in which he does not respond quick at all and avoid items and questions you ask him. Then when trying to get items fixed it will take multiple times for them to come by and half ass fixed items meaning you have to take multiple days off of work.So far I have not been impressed at all with the people and this company. read more

We closed on our JJCH last June and we've been trying to get warranty repairs done since May and finally got Deanna to come look at our issues in the beginning of June but haven't heard from her since. We've called repeatedly and left messages for her and Maddie but both have failed to answer or return our calls. I finally called Maddie last week from my work phone and she answered on the first ring. I asked why she has not returned out calls and she didn't have an answer but said she would have Jeff call me back. I have never experienced such poor customer service and am very frustrated. We just want our repairs done and don't know who to contact next. read more

Stay away from this builder. We closed on our house in March, over six months late. The number of major problems is staggering: uneven floor tiles, garage door that doesn't fit, none of the sinks can hold water, the cabinets are covered with stains and scratches, the picture window looks like it was installed as an afterthought, there are gouges in the walls, none of the toilet seats fit properly, the closet doors stick shut, the shelves painted with too many coats too fast so everything sticks to the surface, and on and on. They left 8 giant garbage bags of trash in my yard. They covered a bunch of trash with soil. DO NOT BUY A HOUSE FROM THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!! read more

My journey with Jimmy Jacobs Homes has been extremely pleasant and professional. I have been dealing with Eric Moore and he has been very helpful during my home building process. I had looked at several luxury home models and met with multiple builders in the past few months. Went I saw the Jimmy Jacobs model house at the Vineyards, I was amazed with the exceedingly high levels of quality, uniqueness and overall beauty that it had to offer. It is no doubt a "WOW" factor. I have never seen a house as outstanding for the price. It's absolutely beautiful! Their team have been so supportive in helping me with the journey to start building my home. They are overly qualified and I trust they will stand by their word to build the house of my dreams. So far, Eric has gone the extra miles to meet my wish list. I would like to thank Eric Moore for all his help. read more

I built my home with Jimmy Jacobs and the finish out in my house is horrendous the paint is cheap and only one coat was put on, all the caulk they used to finish out the baseboards is dry and cracking. I have stain from my doors on my baseboards that was never cleaned and painted over. My stained doors are rough and were never sanded and only 1 coat of stain applied,. The trim around my doors is awful they are cut to short and the used large amounts of caulk to fill in the spaces. The people in their design center do not know what they are doing. My granite is to narrow it should have had a larger overhang but the people in the design center did not know that. I have doors that are warped, doors that have large drip marks on them. JJCH built our home in San Antonio back in 2013 and right before our home was completed we learned he sold the company. At the time we were told he would own the warranty of which he was responsive initially he never addressed a leaky window but now less than 3 years later we have a foundation issue that is causing our wood floors to sink in our family room and it is getting worse by the day. I have contacted Jimmy Jacob construction asking for some to get back with me ASAP but have not heard anything. We live on a hill with a massive foundation so we are concerned this could be something more serious. I completed my home build in May 2014. My experience with Jimmy Jacobs Homes is one that I hope everyone building a new home gets to experience one day. It a singular opportunity to get everything, assuming you can afford it, just the way you want it. Over the course of the build Jimmy became a friend. JJCH provided great support even lending me CAD files from previously built homes from which I could steal design ideas. In my particular case, working with JJCH allowed me to finally be truly comfortable in my home. I'm 6'8", so taller ceilings, large rooms, countertops in certain areas built just for me made me feel...normal... We also got the opportunity to make a home for my aging mother. In creating our home, we were able to move my mom in without sacrificing really anything. Coming from being completely independent in her own home, we wanted to give mom a generous space with a generous bath. Room to be in her space without feeling like she was in a modified guest room. Jimmy let us do exactly that. Right along side the need for the right builder, is the need for the right lender. Sente stood with us the entire time. I have never felt so well taken care of financially as I did with Nancy and Brian. Always looking to find the best deal for me and answering questions I really didn't even know to ask...really great people. A truly first class experience. Would I do it again? Absolutely. read more

May 30th 2016 - AUSTIN TEXAS - Reagans Overlook If you are looking to purchase a Century Communities Home in Austin - STOP NOW. We decided to build a custom home and found a great cul de sac lot in September 2015. We went to their office selected our model, signed a contract and paid a deposit and were anxious to begin building our dream home. A home which was jointly designed by my wife and 17 year old which we hoped to move into as promised on July10th of this year, so she had a full year in her dream home before she went to college next year. In October our Century Agent told us how lucky we were because Century had increased base prices by 70K on all models and we had "gotten in right before the increase" - we had a contract with the correct price dated September 30th. In December we signed final placement of the plot plan and were told we are ready to build your home. In February I asked when is the foundation going down we just invested more than $10,000 to upgrade our existing home before we listed and wanted to see progress before listing. We were told at that time we needed to sign another contract which "removed the contingency for selling our home" we did so as we were anxious to get moving and were told "permits are being issued to begin our home" on February 20th. In early March I drove thru the development to see 6 new foundations poured 3 on contract custom homes and 3 on SPEC HOMES, one of the Spec houses was on the lot directly adjacent to ours, is 975 SQ FEET Smaller than our house with awful upgrades and listed for completion on July 10th for $155,000 above the final price detailed in our September Contract. At this point I was upset and asked to speak to a Supervisor who did not return phone calls emails or meeting requests for 3 more weeks, so I asked for a meeting with the Divisional VP, which I got, he apologized over and over and promised me he was going to make sure our home was build ASAP and that he had fired the Supervisor in question. Well...all they did was move her to another Austin development - LIE #1. He then referred us to the Area VP who met with us apologized profusely and said his "sales team dropped the ball" then he asked to sign a final final contract which proved our home $47,000 more than our September contract, we went crazy and upon review he said "his sales agent made a mistake" - LIE #2 He did tell us beforehand that they had the permits in house and were ready to proceed - I just need to sign. I went to City Hall directly from this meeting - NO PERMITS WERE ISSUED LET ALONE APPLIED FOR 7 months after we put down money and signed a contract. 6 other homes 3 spec homes and 3 that went to contract in december were already underway...WHY? BECAUSE CENTURY MADE NO MISTAKES - THEY SIMPLY DELAYED AND DELAYED HOPING WE WOULD GET SO FRUSTRATED THAT WE JUST QUIT, SO THEY COULD BREAK THE CONTRACT AND RESELL THE LOT AND HOUSE FOR A HUGE MARKUP AND KEEP OUR DEPOSIT BECAUSE WE WENT TO CONTRACT BEFORE THE PRICE INCREASES ON THE OTHER SPEC HOUSES AND CUSTOM HOMES UNDERWAY WHICH HAD FAR BETTER PROFIT MARGINS. THE CUSTOMER DOES NOT COME FIRST AT CENTURY, NOR DO THEIR EMPLOYEES. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS SCREWING THEIR CUSTOMERS, BUILDING SHIT QUALITY OVERPRICED SPEC HOUSES SO THEY CAN PAY THE DEBT SERVICE ON THE RECENT ACQUISITION OF JIMMY JACOBS. RUN AWAY FAST - STRAIGHT TO THE DREES BUILDER. DO NOT SIGN ANY CONTRACT - THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO TERMINATE FOR ANY REASON AND KEEP YOUR DEPOSIT - ITS IN THE LAWYERS HANDS NOW - BUT IF I NEED TO WALK REAGANS OVERLOOK WITH A PICKET SIGN FOR THE NEXT YEAR I WILL. AND I INTEND TO TELL EVERY DOCTOR LAWYER AND EXECUTIVE I KNOW TO RUN AWAY FROM CENTURY BUILDERS read more

Rebecca B., no one has contacted me. I don't know why you would post that. To save face? Straight faced lying is not professional at all.

These reviews combine all of my worse nightmares! I am currently in the process of having JJ bid a build on my lot home in the Austin Area. The salesman seems very in tune with the needs of the customer and building process. Are any of the reviews for "Build On Your Lot" program? Does the salesman disappear once you sign the contract? I have built a number of houses in my lifetime and all have their horrible moments and stresses. It seems to me that these reviews basically are about JJs inability to communicate through these tough times. Therefore, I am looking in to other builders as of today. I will not be disrespected when its my half-million dollars on the line. Communication, up front pricing, and minimizing surprises are the keys to a successful home building experience. read more

I agree with both post. Keith Jackson was the best thing JJCH had going. I'm so glad I completed by home building process in 2012. After that all professionalism, care and concern for the customer went out the door, the way they fired their best employees. The testimonies of both John and Nikki are factual. We are very disappointed that Jimmy Jacobs Homes does not stand behind the warranty! We have simple things that need to be fixed and we continue to get the run-a-round.
