Pepperoni pizza
Amanda D.

I am going to start with the pros and then what didn't work for my family. Pros: The restaurant is clean and attractive. They have a cute outdoor eating area that seemed mostly 2 & 4 tops. We had a reservation and were seated right away because our table was already set up for our party of 6. I LOVED that. We were given cool bistro type water bottles for the table and the ambiance of the table was cozy. We ordered the meatballs & rustic bread for appetizers. The meatballs come with 2 meatballs but they were baseball sized. My husband and 11 year old each had one. It also comes with 4 crostinis. I ate a few scoops of the meat sauce and 2 of the crostinis. The rustic bread came with an oil & basalmic dipping sauce that was poured table side. Verdict: meatballs were good but not $7/piece good. The rustic bread was crunchy on the outside in a good way. My husband ate most of the small loaf himself. The other plus - in my opinion was the pepperoni pizza. It wasn't on the menu but when I tried to create it from the build your own - our waiter informed me that they had a pepperoni. I really liked it. All of the pizzas are 12" and I ate half of one myself. Once we ordered our food came out quickly and correctly. All of the ingredients were fresh and obviously excellent quality. The salad was simple and super fresh. Now the stuff that didn't quite work for us. It was loud - the space is on the smaller side and open and we couldn't really talk to each other without raising our voices. This is not a complaint- just an observation and something to be aware of if you are dining with noise sensitive people (we had 3). Everyone around us was enjoying themselves which was great but added to the volume. Next - and this was a big one for us but might not be for you - they don't have ranch. We ordered a garden salad for the table to share and were informed that the house vinaigrette and Caesar were our best ranch substitute options. We got the dressing on the side and unfortunately none of us liked the house dressing. I personally thought the pizza was good but the other opinions were - ok and not a favorite. This was coming from 16, 14, and 13 year old kids. They did not like the super thin crust or the level of greasiness mostly. So note: (and it is listed on the menu) the crust is very thin. My husband and 11 year old were stuffed from eating meatballs and bread. They also didn't like the burnt taste of the wood fire grilling. All if this is super personal taste driven so did not affect my review rating. What brought this down to a 3 from a 4 was our service. Our waiter was nice but very inattentive. We waited too long to be greeted by our actual waiter and he dropped stuff off but only checked back once. We had to ask for straws and plates to eat on. Nobody got a drink refill and when I finally got his attention to get boxes and a check they weren't offered (all glasses were empty) even though we were welcomed to hang out as long as we liked. At this point we were more than ready to leave. Our bill was over $100 (meatballs, bread, salad, 3 pizzas, 5 regular sodas) and for that cost we would have liked a little more attention. I was super looking forward to trying this place based on reviews and I think on an another time, some of the things that didn't work for us might be different, but this was a bit of a disappointing experience for our first night in Cedar City.

Pizza, half artichoke

Came to visit one of my friends up in cedar city; was definitely the best place in the town to eat great pizza, ended up going 2 times in our trip up

Good pizza and outstanding service. As you sit you will be greeted with ice water and a friendly waiter. Portions and prices are fair, pizza rating would be 7 out of 10. The Salads though, they are huge and looked delicious, will definitely be back to try one of them. Craft sodas from all over with interesting flavors. Great spot to stop by and try some new drinks. #tellemcraigsentyou Pro Tip: They load their toppings up, be careful to not pack your pie to much.

We ordered one gf pizza with half of it as Artichoke Rosso and the other half as Dolce Diavola. Both flavors were delicious! When I informed the staff about my dietary restriction to gluten, the serving staff shared they had celiac disease and while there is a chance of cross-contamination she has never been sick from the food there. This was 100% re-assuring of the food safety here. Highly recommend this pizza place for anyone, dietary restrictions or not.

On Thursday we ordered the Nonna's Salad, the Pollo Bianco pizza and the Nutella Piegato. The salad is large enough to feed 4 people, the pizza was good (our server recommended adding grapes, great idea). The Nutella Piegato was amazing. The ends were kind of tough, but we made our way through. Our guests had the Dolce Diavola Pizza and the Pollo Rustico Pizza. My husband tried and really liked the Dolce Diavola pizza and couldn't wait to return. Our server was wonderful, thorough and knowledgeable. Saturday we ordered the Cesar Salad, Dolce Diavola Pizza, a Margherita Pizza and the Nutella Piegato. Our guests ordered the House Rustic Bread, Nonna's Famous Meatballs and a Cheese and half chicken pizza. Not as smooth of a visit this time around. Our guest had to wait some time for their pizza after we all got our food. Then our dessert was taking so long that we almost canceled it. Not as impressed today. I guess more busy due to being a weekend maybe, not sure. The food was good. My husband was happy to have the pizza he wanted and said it was amazing! The dining experience was nice, not too bright and not too loud. And I'd like to add - a server should never assume one or the other in a party is paying. The check was given directly to my husband to which he replied "she's paying for it" and he handed it to me. That's not a good look!

I've been working my way through Cedar City's gyro offerings this year. This is #4 I've tried. He reported that his pizza was perfect and tasted exactly as expected (& anticipated). My Gyro pizza naturally tasted just like a gyro should. It comes with all the standard gyro ingredients: spiced gyro meat, red onion on a pizza crust coated with red sauce and light mozzarella. The pizza-y sauce and mozzarella stayed in the background and let the greek side takeover. The feta cheese, tzatziki sauce and fresh tomatoes are added on top after baking. I asked for no tomatoes (don't like them fresh/uncooked). After 2 pieces I had my fill of the gyro pizza. I was losing track of the individual gyro flavors by that time. (I think I had the same flavor overload while trying the Greek pizza). Hope it will reheat well tomorrow but there might be a culinary reason they wait to put the tzatziki sauce & feta on after baking. The pizza crust here is as good as a pita to carry the greek gyro fixings to my mouth. Always have encountered friendly staff here and Kenedy P at the counter was efficient in taking our order. Love the little outdoor patio since we usually bring our dog. Wow they are ready to cook a lot of pizzas with all the firewood that's stacked up there! Yum yum. Can't wait but I'll either go back to my prior "usual " of a Margheroni or try another of their tasty offerings.

While ordering at the counter, I needed to make a quick adjustment after getting confused about one of the items. During that moment, a 'white' gentleman was waiting behind me, and instead of simply acknowledging him with "I'll be with you shortly," the lady staff apologized to him for my delay in ordering (according to her). Shortly after, while I was still in the middle of ordering and asking about tea options, she abruptly moved on to take his order without any explanation or communication. The interaction felt dismissive and uncomfortable as well I felt strong I am treated with racism, especially in the condition when I was pregnant who crave all good food.... As for the food, most of it was enjoyable. The scrambled eggs on the croissant and the pancakes were well done. However, the onion soup was overly salty, likely due to the cheese which was in the soup and also on the bread. Another downside, especially as first-time visitors, was the lack of guidance. We weren't informed that water was self-serve, and only realized it after noticing another guest getting it themselves. Interestingly, when leaving, we saw staff pouring water for newly seated guests, which added to the inconsistency. Overall, the food showed effort from the kitchen, but the service experience was disappointing. The 2-star rating is mainly in appreciation of the quality of the dishes. Cafe is quite small and we felt hot, as there's only a portable AC that couldn't accommodate that size of room. Not recommended place, even this is one of the rarest cafe in town. Rather to spend money to somewhere worthy and respect you as guest, no matter what roots you have.

This Is The Entire reason why Yelp was created. It's for those family run places that don't follow…read morethe corporate box mentality and look toward bringing a unique flavor and perspective to a community. This is DEFINITELY one of those places. It has a bit of a High Tea with the Mad Hatter vibe, which is fantastic. The interior, needs some floor plans to help break up the unobstructed line of site in the restaurant. With a concept like this, you want little places where you can duck and hide from the public. Plants are a great way of doing this. The menu is very nice. They actually have the menus to mix and match. They have their standard food menu, an extensive selection of beets, wines, mixed libations and even a very nice selection of non alcohol drinks as well. The server did a great job of pointing out her favorites including a fried avocado appetizer that is diabolically tasty! For the main meal I went with the Spicy Burger. It wasn't very spicy but out had wonderfully fresh jalapeño slices and guacamole on top. The burger could use a little more seasoning, but, it was a very thick and juicy piece of meat. It comes with fries and a dipping sauce that is also house made. For dessert I tried their carrot cake. It's very good but it's missing the variations in texture that most people look toward carrot cake of providing. It's a very moist cake topped with more of a butter icing than a cream cheese icing. If there is cream cheese in that icing, I would recommend that you switch it toward Philadelphia Cream Cheese since it offers a bit more of a lemon bite to it. The cake itself has no fruit. So, off you hate raisins, have no fear. They are not in there. But, it would be nice if they did have some sort of fruit in the cake to help break up tie monotony of the cake itself. Toss Is a place that is definitely thinking outside the box and so far, it seems to be working really well. A great place right in the center of town with lots of parking and access in both the front and the back of the restaurant. My server did a great job of making suggestions and making certain that my water glass was always full! Keep up the great work!

Yes the staff are attentive, yes they care, but they look so worried if they were to displease you. Which kind of makes me think of the environment a little. Yes it may be adjacent to fine dining, but honestly, I think I came in during the crowd of snobs. So if you do dine here don't be a snob, please treat your servers with respect too. They're people too. The food? I wasn't as pleased if I'm being honest. I guess coming during a rush is a 50/50 and I got the latter part of that 50. For starters, my mushroom burger was unfortunately really salty. Like really salty. I think I got the burger that was cooked freshly, however, they're must've been a complaint that got over looked and so the staff had to like bum rush to get that order corrected (again, treat your servers nicely). I had fries and fry sauce with my order. However i did not like it. Like at all. The fries were crisp. Hella crisp. But the the fry sauce wasn't not giving. It had like some sort of minty aftertaste as if I tasted a hint of winter green peppermint. It was unfortunate that I didn't eat the burger. I literally took 3 bites and I was over it. The salt content followed by minty like fry sauce wasn't too much for me to bare. But like I didn't want to tell them it was that bad. lol again, they looked as if they were forced to ensure everything was in tip top shape or else something bad was to happen. As for the brussel sprouts? At first bite it was decent, the after taste was not. After a few bites, the brussel sprouts just started to become bland and sort of had this rubbery taste to it. I am not too sure what it was, but there was definitely something off about it. I think they should've added something sweet to counteract the rich dairy creamy taste to this. So that itd be sweet & savory as opposed to creamy and bitter. I enjoyed the ambience though, the service too. I do think this place could stand the test of time as to how unique it is. The staff are trained properly, food could get a tune up, but idk, it's just when you come in here you know this is some place you'd def see in New York. Though the rating I gave was low, I'm still going to go over here. I kind of plan to try everything on the menu, and to give these folks like 30 chances LoL. Because something about this place just feels like it could be potentially thee best dining spot, we as reviewers just got to find that sweet spot.
