This imaging location is clean and well-organized. They provide refrigerated water bottles and coffee which I appreciate. The receptionists are incredibly respectful and friendly. My ultrasound technician was not only professional but also very kind. She ensured my comfort and throughout the procedure. I was in and out quick, which is a definite bonus.

Save the tatas, ladies! Well, they're somewhere under this ginormous gown they made me use. Lol 2/3/20

I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding the treatment I received during my recent…read moreoncology appointment with Dr. Sachdev on 11-27-2024. I left the appointment feeling dismissed, disrespected, and uncertain about the level of care I was receiving. I would like to detail the specific issues that led to my dissatisfaction and loss of confidence in Dr. Sachdev's ability to provide compassionate and competent care. 1. Lack of Compassion and Dismissive Attitude I felt that my diagnosis of breast cancer was treated as a minor or insignificant issue. While I understand that Dr. Sachdev deals with cancer cases daily, her bedside manner lacked the empathy and compassion I expected during such a challenging and emotional time. For example, when I expressed my fear about incomplete imaging and the possibility of undetected cancer, her responses did not provide reassurance or understanding. 2. Miscommunication and Gaslighting During our conversation, I expressed concern that only one specific area of my left breast had been imaged via ultrasound. Dr. Sachdev insisted that the entire breast was imaged, but later that evening, the nurse practitioner confirmed that only the specific spot where the tumor is located was examined. This inconsistency left me feeling unheard and invalidated. 3. Inadequate Breast Exam Dr. Sachdev's breast exam did not inspire confidence. She was unable to locate the lump in my left breast until I pointed it out, which raised concerns about her ability to detect abnormalities during the exam. This made me question the accuracy of her assessment of my right breast and whether any potential issues could have been overlooked. 4. Dismissiveness of Claustrophobia and MRI Challenges I was unable to complete my breast MRI due to severe claustrophobia, despite making two attempts. When I brought this up, Dr. Sachdev dismissed my concerns and claimed she had never heard of patients being sedated for MRIs. This contradicts the information provided by the breast center's pamphlet and imaging center staff, who stated that approximately 10% of claustrophobic patients require sedation. The nurse practitioner later confirmed that referrals for sedation have been made in the past, but this option was not considered during my appointment. 5. Lack of Comprehensive Imaging Given that my cancer was not detected through mammograms but was identified only after I felt a lump and requested an ultrasound and biopsy, I am deeply concerned that I have not received sufficient imaging to ensure that cancer is not present in other areas, including my right breast or lymph nodes. When I voiced this concern, Dr. Sachdev's assurance that "cancer cannot jump from the left breast to the right breast" felt dismissive rather than thorough. Steps I Have Taken Due to these experiences, I have requested my primary care physician to refer me to another oncology center. However, I feel it is important to address these issues to ensure no other patients feel dismissed, invalidated, or inadequately cared for.

She actually sat there and drew a picture and told us the cancer is all gone without even doing a CT scan then she says well because she lost herhair, the chemo is working, we finally got a CT scan and the cancer spread everywhere. Also, a huge shout out to Diane who helped me to get an appointment for an MRI in a week at another location versus having to wait a month at the location I was referred to. She really helped to expedite the process so I could begin receiving treatment in a more timely manner. She even called me to let me know the positive results of my MRI as soon as they were available to her, which is important during these trying times. Terrible clinic -- avoid if you care about your loved ones…read more Our experience here during a cancer crisis was beyond frustrating. Dr. Kim, the oncologist, showed zero compassion -- he rolled his eyes when we told him this was our first referral after the diagnosis and offered no helpful information beyond saying surgery was urgent. He claimed he submitted a referral, but a week later we learned it hadn't been sent. No apology -- just a late submission to a surgeon who doesn't even accept new patients. We found a qualified surgeon ourselves and requested a new referral, only to be stonewalled by the authorizations department with excuses like "it'll take 7 days," blaming insurance (which confirmed approvals take minutes). No call back from the doctor. Phones go unanswered. Office feels chaotic and unprofessional. In a time when every day matters, they cost us nearly two weeks. Stay away from this clinic -- especially if time, care, and communication matter.

But as someone who has sworn an oath in my federal role and is bound…read moreby strict standards of compliance and integrity, I have a legal and moral obligation to speak up. The Oncology Institute (TOI) failed my family and that's putting it mildly. A suspicious mass identified earlier this year was met with same day canceled appointments, delayed referrals, and no follow ups.. I not only became a full time caregiver for my loved one, I was now forced to take over TOI's administrative responsibilities: making calls, chasing authorizations, tracking down labs, coordinating between facilities. That is not the job of a family member. That's the clinic's job, and they failed. Because of this negligence, the cancer has spread and terminal. The fallout wasn't just emotional. I've lost income and have had to decline federal job assignments to manage the mess they created. While TOI hides behind California's malpractice caps and legal protections, this is no longer just a state issue. The failures here rise to a level that demands federal oversight. Formal complaints will be filed. I refuse to stay silent while others risk going through the same. I will pursue every legal remedy available to ensure this organization is held financially and ethically accountable for the harm it caused.

I was going to give the whole troubled history of how I came to be Dr. Rayhanabad's patient, but…read moreit's a long story, so instead I'll just relay the recent, happy part of my story. I want to start off by saying that finding Dr. Rayhanabad (here on Yelp) was the BEST FIND I've ever had! Well, actually, I believe I was being Divinely *led* here (to this Yelp review); in fact, Divinity has stayed with me, and Dr. Rayhanabad, during this whole trial! Thankfully, my breast cancer was discovered early, and Dr. Ray..., unbeknownst to her at the time, scooped it all out! "Unbeknownst to her at the time..." because all the tests showed that my cancer was only 3cm and so that is the number that Dr. Ray... was working with during my surgery. But, because it's her practice to scoop out more tissue (more than many, if not most, of her peers), she ended up getting out all 4cm of the cancer with 1cm of clear margins! When I saw her at my post-op follow-up appt., she said she was very surprised at the actual size of my cancer, which, she said, made her even happier when she saw that the tissue had clear margins. She said she did the Dance of Joy! She also said that I was very lucky, because if she had known it was actually 4cm in size, she would've had to do a mastectomy. (I have since told her that maybe I should be a case study to show that you don't necessarily have to do a mastectomy based solely on the size of the cancer.) Anyway, due to the fact that Dr. Rayhanabad is a superbly skilled surgeon who has a high success rate in following the "One and Done" motto, all the (known) cancer is out of me! ("One and Done" meaning, only going into surgery once, get out all the cancer, and be done with it.) I am so happy that Dr. Rayhanabad will be with me on this journey for the foreseeable future; and now, when I see her walk into the room, I get such a sense of joy & comfort. THANK YOU Dr. Rayhanabad for your surgical skills, for the joy your work brings you, and for the great love you have for your patients! And, the gals in the office are pretty nifty too - smiling, friendly, helpful ladies!

Perhaps because she takes TIME with each patient and you do not feel rushed. She was mindful of the wait and apologized.
