Went to see a band and get dinner at 6:30 on a Friday. They were carding then and wouldn't let a 20 year old member of our group in. There were plenty of teenagers and children having dinner. Apparently 21 and over means if you're under 18, that's okay too. Thought I'd give it a try for dinner, but definitely won't be back nor recommend. read more

I'm am really disappointed in the service here. It's hard to get a drink and the staff is not very friendly. A group of us went in there yesterday and my friends sat down with their child to eat. Nobody served them. They eventually left with out eating. The bartender then caught an attitude about it when we were discussing it amongst us and did not offer a solution. read more

We went to have drinks after a show at Proctor's and ended up staying for dinner. We ate at the outside patio and we were serenaded by a live band. Lindsey our Waitress and Brittany the Hostess, couldn't have been sweeter or more attentive. We had delicious wings, (garlic parmesan with ranch dressing) and 2 sandwiches. We loved both of them and enjoyed the accompanying home made kettle chips. The best part of this place is the striving for customer satisfaction. We dropped in and mentioned seasonal pumpkin beer a few weeks before. They were certain to order it and it was in place for our most recent visit. We just returned from out 5th visit to the Centre Street Pub, always hoping for better food and better service. Once again, we were disappointed and will not be returning anytime soon. There is a large beer selection although the staff is not at all knowledgeable about the different beer styles as well as what is on tap. There was no offer to check to see what is available or samples offered. The quality of food has gone down hill with each visit. We have sent back food on a previous visit and tonight we didn't finish our meal. We had to approach the bar to get the server's attention to be brought menus even though it was not busy. Two servers were standing together talking. Attentiveness is not a trait we observed anywhere. We were so hoping to find a local pub with a good beer selection, decent food and an informed staff. I like what they've done in the remodel and I love the open space and big bar in the middle of the square, but I got a raw burger with no offer of any replacement or compensation whatsoever once the waitress found out ..and it was during a birthday luncheon. Place was very quiet on a hot saturday afternoon. I would go back to try the bar outside but I'm reading bad reviews on service which is too bad. I hope it changes bc there is a ton of potential in this old place. Props for renovating and keeping some of the original floors and features. read more

The appetizers were serviceable (but salty!) and the service was better than a lot of other reviews indicated. The beer list included boddington's, so thats a plus. They're new, so I'll give them a little room for improvement, but the chicken parm pizza is just a cheese pizza with grilled chicken strips dumped on top. Wtf is up with that? Yeah. My first experience there was fun. Went with 10 friends to drink and have a blast celebrating a friend birthday. They had a band there but I was too drunk to remember who they are. My son recently joined us for Thursday night "pizza night" after hearing us rave about the pizza every week.. On this Thursday night my friend and I ordered the Artisan House Salad w/Chicken, which is made with Mesculin Greens, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Onions & Olives. (I added chicken to mine) Top that off with their balsamic vinaigrette ... What a delicious blend of flavors!!! Is was outstanding!!! My son stuck with our favorite pizza "The Margherita" which has Tomato, Basil & Fresh Mozzarella (10"), along with a dozen wings with Bushmill's Irish Homey BBQ sauce.. Needless to say not a word was spoken until he had completely devoured the wings and every bite of the pizza (minus a very tiny piece!)... He then announced that the crust was the best he has ever had and the combination of flavor on the pizza was fantastic.. He added that the wings were fried nice and crispy (just how wings should be) and the sauce was delicious and should be made on a pizza somehow! Now onto the staff.. The staff is amazing!! After going there over the past year multiple times you start to put names to faces and that's what the staff at Centre Street does.. I am welcomed with a very friendly hello and have great conversation with not only the bartenders (we usually eat at the bar) but the wait staff as well.. Sometimes you can even get some "off the beaten path" places to explore in NYC!!! Relaxed atmosphere that is doesn't feel like it is trying to hard. They have a solid variety of beers that pair well with their food. Their food is better than what one might expect from a pub but also have standard pub fare. The salmon was really good. Staff are friendly. Although kids could dine here and I've seen children here; it feels more like a place for adults. They have a great outdoor area with picnic tables a a separate bar. When I go out in schenectady, this is the spot I go to more than anywhere else. read more

Came here during a hockey tournament as recommended by tournament staff. It did not disappoint. We were able to get a large enough table for a few of the families and kids, the food was terrific (I had the smoked wings and French onion soup, both fantastic), atmosphere was great, and the selection on tap was tremendous. This was our second visit. I didn't want to review after the first visit because it was a new spot and they were clearly understaffed. Well time has not helped them. The hostess (possibly the most apathetic person I have ever met) dragged herself off her bar stool and tried to seat us at a dirty table outside. When i pointed out that the table was dirty, she sat us (3) at a table with 7 chairs. Did not remove any of the extra chairs and did not clean the dirty table. We should have left then. There were some boisterous children running to and fro-not what I would expect in a "beer garden" but that was the least of the problems. The menu's were filthy, flies everywhere, service was non existent. The waiter was the only one on, other than the half dead hostess and busser? I say that with a question mark because his knowledge of food & beverage or how to bus a table was that he was completely mystified. The other table never got cleaned by anyone and yes the queen of the dead did seat another party at the dirty table. I ordered the prime rib (that was the special and oh my! It looked like it was "hacked" off the poor rib and then pan fried? It had a crispy exterior I quite honestly have never seen anything like it. The Mystery meat was served with a raw baked potato. I had to ask for butter, sour cream and chives (served in a rameken-probably 1/4 cup of chives). One of my dining companions liked his tuna salad and the other had sliders and only ate 1-she fed the other 2 to her dog. 'what can I say. Near the end of dinner the staff all walked around back to enjoy a much deserved smoke break! I don't think there is 6 months worth of dining experience between all of the staff and if there is shame on them. Don't worry I won't be back until you train your staff and get someone in the kitchen that can cook. Hire a real manager or you will be closed soon. read more

I'm in here basically everyday and have been for a couple years now. The atmosphere has changed completely over the past couple years and I've noticed a lot of staff leaving or not looking happy to be there. Also the plates and forks are now paper and plastic which just seems lazy and tacky and recently it seems to be only one guy busting his ass by himself while the two managers sit on their phones, go outside to smoke a cigarette or just simply don't do anything. Also recently there was an issue with the bathrooms and you could clearly hear the owner getting upset about it and they closed down and the next day they were open again and the same issue happened. The place is slowly going downhill and it's sad because it's a nice place. I think part of the is issue some of the management they've hired. They hired a new manager and she's really sweet and outgoing but seems and looks like she has no clue what's she's doing. Also some of the waiters and bartenders rather joke off and talk then actually take care of you or bring you the food and I've seen the one dude who's always in the kitchen have to run the food out because the waiters were just simply ignoring the food. read more

I was disgusted by this place. I recently moved to the area and have heard good things from this bar. I had been wanting to go for a few weeks and finally was able to last weekend. The person I had wanted to go with thought the outside looked gross so it took some convincing to actually try it. I can't tell you how disappointed I was. I was begging to go somewhere else 5 mins after arriving.We went to watch a football game and have some beers. It doesn't take much to make me happy. Let me tell you a bit about the atmosphere. It smells like stale beer , the servers and bartenders are rude and it was so quiet you could hear crickets. There were two other people in the bar besides us who were also watching the same game as us. The main game was on one TV and from where we were sat I had to turn my entire body to look at it. I asked the server if we could get it turned on one of the other 4 TVs in my direction. She complied and went to talk to the bartender. Because it was quiet I was able to hear the entire thing. She said " can we get that TV turned on to the game" the bartender said "I already have it on the other TV she can turn to look at it." The server then comes back and said the TV was not hooked up. That pissed me off so bad i wanted to walk right out but I stayed because we ordered food. We ordered 2 orders of wings. One was over cooked and the other not done. The only reason I would be back was for the outdoor bar but even then I don't think I still would go back. read more

Food sucks and beer selection is okay. The staff is what makes this place horrible. On a busy evening like fri/sat you have to go through 3 bouncers with ego issues. Complete dbags to you as soon as you walk in. Most of them aren't cut out for bouncing seeing as they couldn't jog half a mile without collapsing. The servers at the bar are rude and horrible at their job. One in particular Courtney who thinks she is the next top Model is about as full of herself as they come. Try to sit down and have a beer and all you hear is her tooting her own horn about how great she is. The owner I've met and is a total jerk it's no wonder his staff is horrible. They follow in his footsteps. Do yourself a favor and go to bombers, zen, beirgarden, anything but this depressing atmosphere. read more

The beer list was excellent although the food was a close second. The Shed Mountain Ale in the Shed glass was a nice touch. The massacre burger was sinfully delicious and the service was attentive and friendly. This was a highly satisfying experience and one that will be replicated. I went in the other night to see Joe Roy Jackson play. We ended up ordering a meat lover's pizza which was quite good. The beer selection was nice. I am a Boddington's fan and was glad to see that.
